  1. From what I am reading, I am not seeing the typical user experience being 5 mg in a market that has LTE Plus completed so I'm not sure it's a valid concern to worry about what the future will be like. I think the future will be LTE Plus with speeds as far as I am seeing that are significantly greater than what you are describing.
  2. Honest question: what day to day usage of a phone needs more than 10 megabits per second? I'm not at all trying to be antagonistic here I just don't understand how people use their phones to need more speed than that today.
  3. A stock price declining doesn't mean an increased risk of imminent demise. Doesn't work that way.
  4. Disagree. I don't believe Joe Public cares about speed tests, knows what the numbers mean or knows how to run one. They care how fast their Facebook timeline or Instagram feed loads.
  5. After reading as much as I can find on this, I am really starting to feel like the original Recode article just didn't get it right. I really question whether the deployments that are primarily targeted for government facilities is actually the relocation of macro sites or whether it is the Mobilitie small cell deployments. Perhaps the existing two tower companies are now understanding the reality that they're not going to be in on this small cell deployment business and perhaps they took Recode along for a little ride of half truths when it came to this story?
  6. Why is that a negative article? I don't see that as a negative. In fact, to me it explains the recent restructuring where Sprint went to a bunch of regional managers. If they are going to transition from private market tower leases to government properties then those Regional Managers essentially become lobbyists whose goal is to cozy up with local governments in order to secure great financial terms and easy approval processes for their equipment deployments.
  7. Yes, that is happening with many LG phones after the most recent Google Maps update. Within the Google Product Forums for Google Maps this is an acknowledged problem but no fix yet. Google is aware of it though.
  8. I'm suspect of that new map because I just looked up Nassau Bahamas and it shows only purple coverage there which implies high cost paid roaming. However, the Bahamas is a partner country in Sprint's roaming programs.
  9. I believe there is free public Wi-Fi in the Dubai Airport. I have not been there since 2012 but I remember making a Facebook post to notify my family that I arrived.
  10. The entire Middle East is missing as well. Dubai, UAE etc are still an advantage in T-mobile's program.
  11. Sprint just announced a major expansion of their international roaming programs, adding 36 cities. The list is really all over the place and quite impressive. The only significant hole that I can tell is the GCC at this point. http://m.androidcentral.com/sprint-adds-36-more-countries-its-international-roaming-add-ons?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  12. You are correct. My apologies. I completely misread your post and I attempted to delete my response. I edited it instead but my apologies to you.
  13. If you sign up for open world but you are in an additional country versus the included country, do you lose the ability to have 2g data? In other words in an additional country all data is high speed with an overage charge? I wish they would just have one plan that gives us some amount of high speed data in countries and then backs down to 2g unlimited after that.
  14. I believe Sprint stopped citing specific POP figures. The last few articles that I've read that stated them seems to be speculation.
  15. I updated by using the TOT file instructions on XDA. The standby battery life is insane. Last night the battery life on WiFi, while the phone was not being used, stayed at 100% for 2 hours until I used it again. It's too soon to judge the battery life during use. I also did a reset from recovery after updating.
  16. What's the issue with the note about this adding Global Roaming? The phone didn't support that before?
  17. Is it 6.0.1 by chance or just 6.0? Like the bug fixes in 6.0.1
  18. I am having a terrible time on four Sprint lines with recipients of our SMS and MMS messages receiving multiple copies of the same message. This problem is not isolated to just group and the mess. It is occurring on single recipient SMS. I've switched apps from Messaging Plus to Hangouts to the phone's built in message app. Nothing seems to make a difference. My phone is g4, my wife has an S6 and my son has an iPhone and it is occurring on all of our phones. This morning when I landed at the Atlanta Airport I sent my daughter an SMS. She got it four times. I sent my son an SMS from Atlanta and he got it twice. Last night my wife was part of a group message and she received the same message over 20 times and then suddenly this morning she received the same message from last night probably another 30 times. I called Sprint technical support and their answer was that we needed to take all four phones into a repair store for a diagnostic. Please. Anyone experienced similar problems of this magnitude and have any idea what to do?
  19. Funny thing is that they responded in detail to the credit card dispute but never did answer the support ticket. A joke of a company.
  20. That's debatable. As I posted in another thread over the holidays I traveled in eastern and Northern Iowa and when I was connected to US Cellular my phone had no roaming indication of any kind. It looked native by all indications on the phone except when I looked at Signal Check Pro.
  21. That's exactly what mine looked like too. I traveled from near Ames to Cedar Rapids on US-30 then across northern Iowa from Waterloo to Minnesota just southeast of Albert Lea. When I was connected to US Cellular SignalCheck looks just like your screenshot.
  22. I traveled across central Iowa yesterday north of I-80. I was on US Cellular according to SignalCheck and there was no roaming symbol. It was 3G.
  23. I was not responding to your comment. I was responding to Cletus. Specifically, I was responding to the use of his word sufficient.
