With that, espn wouldn't take data out of their reg data allowance. Espn would be paying for it
Ah I thought you meant Verizon was letting the NHL app not count toward data. That's what I thought you meant by free. Silly me!

Oh and welcome. Are you here for google i/O?

Yeah airport tower is not active yet. Downtown is great. Elsewhere is hit or miss. Highways are covered for the most part. Report in on sf market thread as well.

Mapping San Francisco as we speak
Whereabouts?

Espn is thinking of subsidizing their app on Verizon and att as well.

Cause if you aren't I think you can still map on sensorly with a deactivated sprint phone. Just have it upload via wifi only. Worked on an old 3g sprint phone of mine. But that was 3g. I'm not sure sprint allows 4g connections over deactivated phones. Test it out and let us know.

<<br /><br />Are you selling your sprint phone<br />I'm still lurking because I want to see Sprint have that "4G everywhere" network that I'm waiting for (that T-Mobile somehow delivered here.) I just can't contribute to the search and the Sensorly mapping. <img src='http://s4gru.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<img src='http://s4gru.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />' />

In about 20 days sensorly has used 300mbs of data. I run it almost daily.

From Oracle Arena:
5/2 - Game 6 vs Denver Nuggets
5/12 - Game 4 vs San Antonio Spurs
I'm pretty sure I was connected to site FN13XC003, which is listed as 3G/4G complete and the only one in the area, yet for some reason, LTE strength was solid, but speeds were really slow. It got up to around 1Mbps while the game was on (meaning people were off their phones), but I was expecting more from a complete site.
Unfortunately, my time here has come to an end.. I've disconnected my Sprint line, since T-Mobile has been working great for me. It's been fun times for the past year with you guys, getting excited over newly-completed towers and mapping a ton of Sensorly.
Now I'm having fun mapping T-Mobile (the majority of the bay area was done by me)

That sucks. Doesn't seem like there's that many vocal mappers in the bay area. Thanks for the help. Enjoy T-Mobile. Maybe see you again.

If you allow your screen to dim before timing out, it will dim to the lowest setting but never turn off (since Sensorly requires the screen on) if you don't touch it.
When I've been out mapping at night I set the screen timeout to 1 minute, then just set it in the car dock. After a minute, the screen dims to the lowest setting. Works for me.
Hmmm. My car dock doesn't allow my screen to time out. I might take a look at that..

For landscape mode, you mean in the "Trip" screen right ? Because the map screen already supports it. It would require redisigning the screen to fit in less height, we won't be able to do that soon unfortunately.
There's no way to do a night mode with the google maps API right now.
Yeah. The map trip screen. Its just annoying when I have it docked in my car. It rotates back and forth annoyingly. But no bid deal. And the night mode not so much for the map itself but like a dark theme for the rest of the the screens. Sometimes it's too bright with all that white at night. But again no big deal. Just makes it easier on the eyes.

The log jam isn't clear yet. LTE has caught up with data from approx Monday.
Then I believe we'll be back to fast update speeds. If e're not we'll increase capacity again (won't require a pause this time, unless there's an issue)
Cool. Thanks for letting us know. Nothing better then responsive devs.
Any thoughts on allowing landscape mode while mapping in the app?
Would be helpful in car dock. Also maybe a night mode?

So how long does it take for new plot points to show up now that the logjam is clear? I did some this afternoon and don't see it yet.

Ok, I've added it to the code but we're not ready to do a release. I don't think it will be until end of May or June. It would be helpful if you could sign up as a beta tester (email contact@se....lyDOTcom) so you get to test the feature before we release it.
Awesome thanks. This will be helpful during hunting. Any way to add landscape mode to the mapping screen. Would help when in the car dock.

Speaking of being addicted. Can you make the app compatible with samsung multiview. Simple couple lines of code. That way I could run Sensorly and gmaps at the same time.
Here is the code.

Yeah I could totally do that! If you could send me the code, that would be great. Otherwise I'll search around for it later this weekend.
Here's a decent link with the code,

Any plans on making this app compatible with samsung multiview. Since the s3 s4 and note all have this feature now. It would be cool to have this app and signal check or maps going at the same time. Its only a few lines of code. I can post it up if interested.
-
Someone else had recently asked for "multiview" support and I hadn't had a chance to figure out what it was yet.. that link was very helpful. I only glanced at it briefly, but from what I saw it shouldn't be too tricky to add support. I'll need someone with a compatible device to test it out, so if you are willing I will send you a message when I have something usable.
-Mike
Yeah i can test. I'm still stock. I was gonna decompile and recompile myself. But Sensorly didn't work well cause the maps don't load cause of Google maps api and incorrect app signature. I think.

Speaking of the s3 stock update. It now has multiview windows. Do you think you can make this app compatible with Samsung Multiview.
Seems pretty simple. Here's some basic code to add to your app if you decide to make it compatible. I know I would use it more if you did.

anyone have a sensorly.apk compiled already to work with multiview? I'm gonna try to do it later but just figured i'd ask.
-
Works but sucks at the same time... A lot of apps are not written to work with multiview. If you know how to decompile the apk and add the correct code then you can get some of the apps working. I have done a few of the apps I use a lot. If you want to learn more google apk manager or apk multi tool.
Sweet. Thanks for the info. I really only want sensorly to work with multiview. Hmm let me think what else.
I guess I'll post up the links to instructions on how to do this.

Network Vision/LTE - SF Bay Market
in Markets
Posted
Yeah i moved from Berkeley to sf last month. It was pretty bad in Berkeley. Not one tower is upgraded yet. They get bleed over from albany and Emeryville and oakland but nothing in Berkeley. Must be all the nimbys. What neighborhood in oakland are you in? I thought more of Oakland would have been done by now too. Sf is getting pretty stagnant also but downtown is well covered as of now. The outlying neighborhoods need help though. Hopefully your patience will pay off. Keep on mapping. I thought I was the only one in the east bay.
