i live in Salinas, Ca which is listed as a pre-launch...the question i have is....i get 4g just north of salinas..and when i say just north...i mean less than 3 miles.....and then its spotty 3g within salinas......however if go past king city which is about 30-45 minutes south.....i get a strong 4g signal...only problem...the area that i sstrong 4g is an unpopulated area.....why would they upgrade an area that doesnt have the most populus first?

Have you downloaded and ran sensorly yet? It would help community pin down actual 4g coverage.

Just used gogo on United last night from jfk to sfo, kinda. Used my s3 to look how much and it was too pricey. So I just browsed the free websites like Groupon.com and LivingSocial . com. Then I was gonna read the last articles I downloaded on Google currents. Unfortunately I didn't have anything for like 4 days. Tried to press "sync now", and surprisingly it synced all my subscriptions. No images but I was able to read articles the rest of the entire flight. So if you have an upcoming flight and forget to sync currents pre-flight, try it, it might work. It even let me load the Play store. Didn't let me download anything but I could see app descriptions and which of my apps had updates. No images again. So maybe some Google servers are free also.

Thats the best 3G connection i've seen on Sprint thus far , the closest i've ever gotten to that was 1.91 down , & .90up if Sprint had that kinda 3G everywhere people would be alot more happy .

I've gotten similar 3g speeds uptown but at like 3am. Those speeds at 5pm are incredible.

I'm impressed, the whole Washington heights seems like is lte covered. About 4 towers have been built in the last week and a half.

 

I did a lot of inwood this past week. Was pleasantly surprised I got a lot of coverage indoors uptown. My mom's place had horrible 3g. Now I get decent lte there.

Left sfo last night and had lte on the air train. Got to jfk this morning and had lte on the air train towards Howard beach. Nice welcome to nyc.

Took Bart to sfo. Lte all the way into the air train. Appearing on sensorly already. Filled in other gaps here and there along the Bart route. NYC lte here I come.

I've been waiting for that one to appear on Sensorly, or at least someone to report on it. You may be the first.

I dont think its live yet. I was right under it and cycled airplane mode and nothing. So i guess i hit that new one in salinas for all of 156. I guess thats why it hasnt shown up om sensorly yet.

For the first time I was driving home and got 4g right by my house, as I got off 880. Continued driving with 4g. Turned onto my street with 4g. Got a block from my house and lost 4g. Why are u teasing me LTE gods?

So I drove down 101 today. Didnt get any lte until I was on 156. A good stretch of it too. So not sure if it's the new tower to the south or the one in the north of 156. It's not showing on sensorly. I hope it'll show up tomorrow.

Im not sure if im going down 17/1 and up 101 or vice versa. I wanna stop by santa cruz for some chocolate bacon. hmmmm. Either way I should hit lte in santa cruz and hopefully aromas. Its been up for a couple of weeks now, I'm surprised no one has hit it yet.

Anyone get any LTE near Aromas on the 101? I'm going down to Monterrey tomorrow and I saw there is an accepted LTE tower near there but no one reporting on Sensorly.

Anyway the next version can have the home screen rotate to landscape mode? When it's in my car dock its annoying that it forces portrait when the app starts. Night mode wouldn't be too bad either :-)

Thanks. I stay mostly above 101 in mtn view. But I go dinner once or twice a week on Castro, never got any signal. So must be a new tower.

I installed this "network monitor" app that has an icon in the status bar. You can change the color. So when I'm in 4g it turns purple (like sensorly) and 3g its green (lke sensorly) ill post a pic later.
