  1. In my area band 4 when my phone catches it yields 35MBps. Then a moment later it falls to band 26 with 2Mbps. I'm disappointed in band 2/25. It is still Sprint's band 25 with no help from T-Mobile's band 2. I thought they were going to merge band 2/25 rather quickly. Maybe I am impatient?
Sprints network still needs B25 so until sprints customers are moved over you will not see TMO make use of it. Some cites where sprint has 20x20 they could trim it down on the sprint network and move it over to TMO. The 10x10 or 2 5x5 areas not for a while

  2. TMobile's LTE network is in no shape to take on an influx of Sprint customers right now.  The couple times I have forced my Galaxy S10 onto T-Mobile's network while the signal was strong there was a lot of congestion.  B2 was terrible and saw speeds less than 2Mbps and B12 was sorta better usually hummed around 10 to 15Mbps.  I quickly jumped back over to Sprint's network and tend to stay on it as long as possible until I am forced over and if things are not better by then I will bolt to AT&T.
I myself when to visible cause I didn't want to be accessing TMO at my house as it is slow af. Until TMO adds 2.5 and can make use of the PCS I have no interest in them.

  3. Can you imagine Tmo's 5G prospects without Sprint spectrum?  They really needed this.  Everyone thinks Sprint needed Tmo.  But Tmo needed Sprint just as bad.  It really can be amazing together.  It's just going to be bumpy along the way, especially in some markets.
n71 is really only going to be useful as a fallback to n41.  To fill in the gaps.  Then, a 10MHz n71 connection wouldn't be so bad if it was only handling the places of the same site that n41 cannot reach.

Oh I know and agreed they need Sprint.. I'm only saying that n71 performs the same as LTE so I don't see the point of it. B41 5G for sure. TMO could on their own done CBRS and Cband but that will just delay them, so yes they need Sprint.

While having access to that 60mhz of FDD spectrum is cool(not counting mmWave since that deployment seems to be on pause as far as I know and has limited availability ), you are not taking into consideration that T-Mobile customers are already occupying that spectrum and now they just added more into the mix with us Sprint customers. Also, I don't see how 60Mhz B41+40Mhz of N41 would be slower than what T-Mobile is currently broadcasting.

But I digress, I do appreciate the speed in which T-Mobile is making changes, its worlds faster than Sprint were ever allowed to be.

I can add that TMobile is currently 10x10 B2 in NY sprints spectrum will allow that to increase 20x20 plus the 5x5 G block. When and if TMO shuts down H+ they would also have another 5x5 AWS to work with. Plus TMobile is also running LAA in NY

  5. My phone just got a system update but is still connected to B41. How long after the update should it take before it switches networks?
Does TMO cover your area? It stays on Sprint if you can't connect to TMO

  6. Oooo, baby. This 0.25 Mbps 5G is clearly the future! Can't wait for my email to download a single message.

That is why I find lowband 5G pointless. 5G should just be mid band and Mmwave. Put all 600 on LTE and you wouldn't notice a difference. Even tho vzw is planning it next with n5 and at some point n13.

  7. When i check the signals via *#0011# it doesn't show the phone connected to any NR signal so I don't know if it just doesn't show it or if T-mobile is listing LTE as 5G now.
When n71 is used with B66 can the phone also agrigate other LTE bands?
I think so. Thought someone posted 66+n71+B2

  8. Yeah, mine just switched to B66 "5G" with upload speeds of "FAILED CONNECTION". [emoji23]
B66 is still LTE as their 5G is non standalone. So it's LTE B66 with n71 5G. Will be the same way with B41 until stand-alone happens

  9. I know I won’t ever have B71. It wasn’t supported until the XS as far as iPhones go. That wasn’t what I was trying to get at. I was just asking if there was going to be an OTA update that would prioritize the T-mobile network, and the LTE bands that they have. Just curious because the only news about updates going out have been about 5G devices previously released by Sprint.

Your iPhone should be able to access the TMobile network where Sprint doesn't have coverage

  10. They have quite a bit of B41 in South Dakota.  Just not hundreds of MHz like other markets.  They have most of the BRS licenses in Sioux Falls and Brookings.  They also have EBS licenses in every city they had WiMax Protection sites...Rapid City, Pierre and Sioux Falls.  Since the rest of the state outside those 4 cities is pretty rural, I think that could be very good if they can offer really wide 5G NR in those 4 cities on n41, coupled with n71 over the rest of the state's Tmo sites.

Oh I didn't know that. I thought it had been said they didn't own any

  11. This makes sense.  The site is in a bowl, surrounded by hills with no other sites in view.  But the site was just upgraded.  So this makes sense.  Possibly they have turned on ENDC on this newly upgraded site, but not NR yet.  Maybe NR will come on in the next few days.  And maybe this is the reason why people say 5G speeds are slow when the site first goes live.  And then gets much faster after a week or few weeks.  Maybe they are on a LTE site supporting ENDC, then NR goes live after awhile.  THey just see 5G the whole time, not realizing they are not even connected.
However, if I wasn't connected to NR, and I was actually on LTE, why wasn't the speed similar?  There was a distinctive difference.  Also, why could I only get the 5G icon when I had the radio on n41 and n71 and not other NR bands?  Is the ENDC only visible thru certain bands?
    Robert
What do you think they will do for midband 5G in South Dakota as they don't own B41? CBRS maybe?

  12.

IME B12 is only good for a call or SMS. I’ve hung onto calls for miles driving through areas that I can’t use any data. T-Mobile B12 is basically a voice-only carrier.

B71 since they widened it to 15 MHz in this region will have usable data all the way out to cell edge, about 10 or so miles from the site.

Here in Minnesota I see B12 way more than B71. I keep doing airplane mode over and over to try to get it off of 12 and onto 71 with no luck
