I was told 2-3 weeks for VOLTE so we will seeCould be either or both. Why an s-8 would be ahead of a s9 in features does need answered? I desperately need 25 + 41 aggregation. My s9 has band 41 about everywhere due to adequate cell sites that are spaced correctly. But while I have decent band 41 on the receive side, the phone desperately needs to do the upload on band 25. Phone just hangs onto band 41 but little or no upload makes the service unusable. I am beginning to wonder if the s9 is ever going to be able to be upgraded to 25 + 41. Beginning to wonder if VOLTE will ever appear on the s9.

Sorry is it a Samsung issue or Sprint for not getting those features? Not sure exactly what you are asking here, but it is a UNLOCKED s9 purchased at Best Buy on the Sprint Network.

Yeah I got the update on my phone and still no VOLTE support for att. Fudge. Back to VZW at some point or Sprint if they allow itMeanwhile the S10 series just got the November 1 update on November 1. The S10 5G got a bunch of new features over 1GB a few days ago. Mostly Note 10 features like dynamic wallpaper.

Samsung or Sprint?Just received the OCT update for my s9 UNLOCKED. No changes are apparent. No VOLTE. No improved carrier aggregation options.
Samsung-----You are looking bad, very bad. The Oct update is pushed on November 1. Late and it looks worthless. Nothing gained unless it is hidden.

I don't know if you want this but Sprint has a pre-owned modelI will try the plus model I'll see if I can get it.

Yeah. It's supports 256 qam 64 up. 3-5 times CA. My works great. Don't have have the money for a new phone. Only thing with the unlocked model and Sprint is that 25+41 isn't supported where the Sprint model might be. Not sure how it works with the S10 Sprint vs unlocked. For att the S9 doesn't aggregated with B14.AT&T is so archaic it's not even funny. Sprint in my opinion with their unlock phone policy is better than them. But I'm in the market for a phone would you still recommend the Galaxy s9 even in 2019?

Yeah I might just go back to vzws Visible. Unlimited everything 40 bucks a month taxes and fees included and both wifi calling and VOLTE. No issues. With AT&T I have voice over LTE access but not Wi-Fi calling on my OnePlus 7 pro. And I heard that with even the pixel four phones AT&T doesn't even support Wi-Fi calling or volte. att needs to get with the game. Sprint supports it so why not AT&T?

S9 line up still doesn't have it. iPhones and pixel do. Also is yours a att model or factory unlocked? For a long time they didn't allow it on any unlocked phones. They are starting to now thoIf you're talking about AT&T. I have a 1 + 7 pro on AT&T and I get voice over LTE access.Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk

Yep. Same here. On T-Mobile,vzw and Sprint I had WiFi calling and VOLTE on T-Mobile and vzw on my unlocked S9+As far as I know they still don't allow unlocked phones to use VoLTE among other things. My mom's factory unlocked S9+ can't use VoLTE, Wifi calling, or advanced messaging.

A member of S4GRU told me they the S9 was getting VOLTE in 2-3 weeksWhen I saw it was over 400 MB update I though for sure it was this one. Negative, still just calling plus.

I was told that the S9 was getting VOLTE update. I'm using att right now waiting to see if it updated so the unlocked model can use their VOLTE and not HSPA+ for calls

Maybe Sprint is part of it?Big Announcement for "New T Mobile" next week, November 7th. Have a feeling it's the availability of Nationwide 5G and possibly some plan details too?? Stay tuned. The most interesting thing about this is that it will be presented as New T Mobile and not T Mobile.

That's just the VOLTE Icon. I don't see a LTE iconHas the LTE icon changed at all or is it still ugly?

That's why SoftBank was another one of Sprints bad choices. Dish wanted time at the same time and that would have been a very choice.Amazing how much money SoftBank had to burn on WeWork versus the neglect/scraps that Sprint was given:
https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2019/10/22/softbank-announces-take-over-wework/4067488002/
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-10-24/softbank-plumbs-10-month-low-after-extending-lifeline-to-wework
https://www.vox.com/recode/2019/10/22/20927188/wework-adam-neumann-payout-softbank-layoffs
I mean, look at that.
This merger is a complete farce.
This, along with the billions it has sunk into other ventures shows that SoftBank could have funded a massive capital expenditure for Sprint to right the ship, and that it could have provided funds for Sprint to acquire a substantial amount of 600 MHz spectrum in the auction.
Of course, one of the primary justifications Sprint has given for the merger is its lack of lowband spectrum. Go figure.

I have heard TMobile could get more to drop out with the 5G promise like they did with Mississippi and Texas. They will not you any luck with California and NY. If it comes down to, only two states left blocking and the rest support is that enough?Or which could be settled by the parties involved.

Which the Judge can decide onThey won't close the deal until the multi-state lawsuit is done.

Yeah but do they still have to go threw the Court date in December? The FCC has voted to approve the T-Mobile-Sprint merger

Crap nevermind they don't have B41 there. I keep thinking your on Fargo. Then I read your post again. Grand Forks. Still a good question then.It looks like the site at 4th street and 9th ave in Grand Forks has received its triband upgrades. Saw three radios per antenna when I drove by today. Last time I checked Sprint still doesn't own or lease any band 41 licenses here. FCC ULS is down at the moment so I can't check it. Does anyone have any info for me?

That or that vzw is using over 100 mhz of spectrum and Sprint is notHere’s how 5G is progressing in NYC:
https://www.pcmag.com/news/371299/exclusive-mapping-sprint-vs-verizon-5g-coverage-in-nyc
Spectrum characteristics aside, could Sprint’s lower 5G speeds be due to insufficient backhaul?
