Yes. Google maps is running in background as it seems that it's being used by google now (if you have google now actve) as it periodically monitors and reports your location...

Dissable connections optimizer. Furthermore, go to apps, all appps, then find connections optimizer and disable it. It will completely dissapear from the network's menu. In addition, google now uses more resourses as it periodically updates your location if you have it enabled. Try going into google maps, then go to settings, then turn off location history. this seemed to help some people in getting back to satisfactory battery consumption.

Anybody knows why the power save feature toggles on automatically when bat level reaches 14 % (yellow) even if I had battery saver turned off in the first place?

contacts issue fix: YES. LTE scanning improvement: A MUST Google Now: Mehh... OK JB smoothness: (it is smooth now with ICS), so don't know how much better it will get. Anyways, any improvements are always welcomed. (Unless we end up with a new round of problems based on the update)... !!!!!

Don't really care much for JB, just hoping that if it was JB, it will come with fixes for the current issues.... I would even take an MR if it fixes the issues.
-
.... no JB in sight....

The other thing I heard is that they pulled the update because HTC/Sprint wanted to modify stability with Sense UI.... Only time will tell the story I guess....
-
It is speculation that the update got delayed as HTC and sprint wanted to modify some things.....

It happened to me a couple of times,,, as you described, I was using multiple application, memory intesive games, etc... when I hit home, it would load for a couple of seconds and then would load up. My quess is that since the phone has 1gig of ram (which could be not enought for certain applications if you are a heavy user and multitask a lot), as you exit the application you are on, or just close it going back to the home screen, the system has to start dumping un-used apps that use up memory in order to load up sense ui. I bet if we had, say 2gigs of ram, it would not happen.

One thing you can do is before the call connects, just bring the phone to your ear and then no buzz...!

I would think that there are ways that this could be corrected (if not fully corrected, improved) with some software by tweaking the threshhold levels and the algorithms when it handles transitions between 3G and 4G.... Hopefully it corrects the issue and it works with no issues. At least it would band-aid it until all the network converts to 4G. (hopefully that way it will not find 3G at all)?

...and wifi would definitely help...

To Jelly Bean or not to Jelly Bean.... Hopefully to Jelly Bean soon.

Strange. I just checked for an update and it forced me to connect to wifi. So I did, but nothing...it never did that before.

That is what I have to give Asus credit for . Transparency. I remember when they announced the update to jb then there was a delay due to last minute issue with the code, they informed the users that they were working on a fix...and that the fix should be complete within 24 hours or so. Would be nice to have HTC be like that...

I feel sorry for Sprint tech support now... They are probably getting massive calls asking about the update.... (If I were one of the tech support guys, I will get up and say.... I quit this b#%#!!!), and leave...

Makes sense. Otherwise we will be overloading the servers..... ...also, it was mentioned that when the SIII was scheduled for an update on Oct 15th, updates didn't start rolling out until Oct 16th around 1:20am... It seems to be eminent that an update is comming....(today, tomorrow, next week...) no reason to loose any sleep over it...
