  1. I am really thinking about switching to another device. I'm really disappointed because other then the data issues I really love this phone.
  2. I'm actually tempted to switch to Verizon for the new Razr Maxx HD. I have always liked Moto phones and unfortunately my Evo lte isn't living up to my standards here in an LTE market. Not sure what I should do at this point.
  3. I just logged on to this site to see if there was any info on this. BAM here it is front page and very well written. Thanks!
  4. I know I know, Pics or it didn't happen.
  5. Yep, it connected all on its own. In fact on thursday I didn't know sprint was flipping switches... So I'm in my car eating lunch steaming a podcast to my cars radio. Now nothing seemed different to me or anything. When all of a sudden I get a call from my wife and I pick up the phone and I see the 4g icon at the top and started freaking out. You can imagine how that conversation went.
  6. Oh and on the other hand my slowest speeds for today was 12.41 down 6.68 up and 125ms ping.
  7. I did some speed tests after work today in Overland Park, KS and my fastest download speed was 15.28Mbps fastest upload 12.79Mbps and best ping was 62ms. I really hope we see a steady stream of towers going live. They have some pretty big holes to fill in this market but at least we are getting to use whats available now.
  8. yeah, I found it when I went to change it to an ICS keyboard. I'm use to this one from my old phone. I've tried swype a few times in the past but couldn't ever get comfortable with it. But thanks for pointing it out had I not changed the stock keyboard I wouldn't have known it was available.

    HTC EVO 4G LTE

I too am loving this battery life. I can use my phone so much more and not have to worry about the battery. Also the camera is a major upgrade over the OG Evo. Anyone have some app suggestions. Things you think are a must have. Now that I have room for apps again I am willing to try new ones. Also widgets I am very interested in good widgets! A few apps I recommend would be pulse a rss feeder, Chrome a browser, talk a instant messenger, and Pandora for music. These are probably my most used apps. For widgets I really only rocking the stocks ones plus I downloaded a better looking calculator called Calculator Widget Free. I have it set to Motif 9, it makes it look more ICS'ish.
  10. Does the Sprint stores have accessories in yet? I really want a case and a car dock. My BestBuy had cases but were sold out of the black. I didn't really want pink or white.
  11. Well I went to my local Sprint store about a week ago to inquirer about the Galaxy Nexus and the Evo LTE. The guy there was super excited about the Evo and pretty much told me to forget about the Nexus. He was super honest about everything going on with sprint. He did know more then I expected about the hardware but not so much the software. He did call Ice cream sandwich "ice cream scoop" I couldn't help but laugh. It caught me off guard. He made a face like why are you laughing. My wife corrected him. He was really nice about it but I could tell he was embarrassed. Anyways I ended up waiting till today and getting the Evo but I bought it from best buy. The guy there told me up front he didn't know anything about phones but was willing to help the mobile department because there were so may people there. Took longer then normal but he got me all setup. I was his 1st ever phone activation.
  12. Well guess who just got home from picking up an LTEvo? (As the cool kids call it) It's so thin and light. I think I am going to order a case for it. Its kinda awkward to hold just because it's so different from what I am used to. Give me a week and I'll be fine. Im just use to the weight and feel of the OG Evo still. Other then that It seems awesome. I have owned it less then an hour and right now it's charging so I can't give a good opinion yet. But I am super excited to play with it. We did try out the camera and I sent a few text. Camera = WOW! burst mode it even better in person then what I had seen in the reviews. The stock keyboard will probably be replaced once it's done charging. I may go on a drive later to see if I can connect to any of the "live" LTE towers around here.
  13. Thanks guys, I think I was just getting cold feet due to having the original evo for so long. I have played with the One X and it is better in just about every way. Plus who doesn't love a kickstand? The final blow was a small oversight on my part. The headphone jake on the GNexus is on the bottom of the phone. I sit my phone on a stand on my desk at work so I can use gTalk and the web while I also listen to music. I pretty much use my phone like a second computer at work. I think the Nexus would have driven me crazy. I already get annoyed when I to charge my Evo now. So I think having the usb on the side of the phone might actually workout quite good for me. Can't wait for Saturday!
  14. Ok, guys the time is finally here. I am up for an upgrade on Friday. I have watched all the reviews, I know all the specs but I still can not decide between these two phones. I have wanted the Nexus since it was announced. On the flip side I had a bad experience with Samsung before that lead me to the OG Evo I have and enjoy now. I know the specs are overall better on the Evo LTE. However the current OS is built around the Nexus so the day to day experience of the lower specs shouldn't hold it back all that much. Plus the Nexus will get upgraded faster. Maybe not as fast as the GSM model but still faster then the Evo but i digress. HTC gets the win in CPU, camera, build minerals, SD card slot, and battery size. Nexus wins in OS/updates, built in storage, on screen nav buttons, price, and removable battery. I am sure I am not the only Sprint customer asking these same questions.

    HTC EVO 4G LTE

I don't think I have ever been more excited about a phone. I really hope it lives up to the hype. I'm not really one to upgrade just to upgrade. I prefer to add function or fill a need with a new product. I have been using my phone in my car a lot lately but this interface (video below) really impresses me. I have also been looking at ways to use apps like Tasker. Reviews of the One X seem good. I do wonder how good the radios and battery life will be. Both seem expectable to me. The only thing I really don't like about sense 4.0 is the multi-tasking. I really wish they would have left the stock vertical view. They did on 3.6. Sigh.. There is always launchers and custom roms. I guess we know more in a few months.
  16. The interesting thing about Sprint is even though a lot of people are very put off by the data speeds right now. There are tons of people that really REALLY want to switch to Sprint just because of their unlimited data. I have people ask me when the new network is coming and to let them know once its safe to switch.. lol. I just tell them to check out this site! I do agree it is not going to be an overnight turn around though. My guess is Sprint will start to really see results about the time all of their network updates are about completed. 2014ish. They will also be able to report on their savings and how their spending is starting to go way down and hopefully they will say something about profits or at least a light at the end of the NV tunnel. Share holders will be grumpy till at least 2014 maybe even 2015. But if you want to be an investor in Sprint nows a good time to buy I guess.
