  1. App updates have no correlation to android updates. They are completely separate teams. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  2. Nexus devices are nearly impossible to brick. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  3. Nope, there is only one version of the hardware that works for all locations. EDIT: Oops there are two versions, but they had the same software. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  4. Missed that part, but it is still fishy. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  5. Nothing to see here. The current build is KOT49H. KOT49N is just another build done on the same day. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  6. It is the buttons. The first batch of nexus 5's had this issue. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  7. It is supposed to be in the next few months. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  8. We have to wait for Google to do the update because Google has control over updates. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  9. Dash clock doesn't really impact battery life a huge amount. I use it on my lockscreen and homescreen and it is never a top user in battery stats. I would highly recommend the Nexus 5 for a few reasons. 1. Stock android. 2. Updates straight from Google. 3. Great all around performer 4. Simple sleek design. The SIM card is used for LTE connectivity. LTE is considered a GSM technology, hence the need for the SIM. I'm not sure about your last question. You can just use it straight out of the box. No need to make any changes except to customize. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  10. You don't need to do anything to the network settings. Just make sure to detach your phone number from iMessage so that you don't have issues with SMS. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  11. G2 got it's spark update announcement. Hopefully the N5 isn't far behind! Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
  12. I would get the Nexus 5. It's a solid phone. Great screen, the radio is insane, and it's quick. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  13. Got me some 1x800 in the little town of Cedarville OH. Also have LTE coverage here. Tower coords are 39.736389, -83.817778 Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  14. Agreed. Is there any way to decrease the LTE scan time on the N5? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  15. I usually have a smooth handoff from LTE to eHRDP and vice-versus. Occasionally data will just drop out and require an airplane mode toggle. Also sometimes I will be in an LTE area and the phone will be stuck on eHRDP and only toggling airplane mode will get it on LTE.Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  16. My Nexus 5 is exhibiting the same behavior. Hopefully they get this sorted out soon. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  17. Still 3G only here south of Little Rock at Baseline and S. Heights Rd. Have to go up to Hillaro Springs Rd before LTE kicks in. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  18. Awesome thanks for the info. I'll probably go check out the site once I'm back in town after the holidays. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
  19. Soup kitchen Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
  20. I posted about some LTE troubles in the eCSFB thread, but I'm going to give some more details. I am located in O'Fallon IL, where we are supposed to have LTE coverage as of this month. Some spots of the city have coverage, but the tower down the road from me doesn't seem to be broadcasting LTE. The tower in question is near the intersection of Seven Hills Road and East State St. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  21. I was checking out that thread earlier - will post some details over there. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  22. It isn't. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  23. Thanks for the info and welcome! I've already been poking around the site and have found a lot of helpful/interesting info. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
  24. Hmph alright. Maybe I'll go down and check out the tower site sometime and see if the equipment is there. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
  25. eHRDP should indicate that the upgrades are either in process or completed though since eHRDP uses the LTE network as a backend. I get LTE at other places in O'Fallon so that lead me to my conclusion that it is the one tower down the road from me that isn't completely finished. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
