  1. I've been doing a lot of traveling lately and I'm having bad SMS experiences. This is occurring on a LG G2 with Android 4.4.2 and a Nexus 5 with 5.0.1.

It has occurred in Chicago, Tucson, Des Moines and Champaign.

Sending SMS gets stuck on "Sending" and might eventually send or might fail. Incoming texts I'm getting 3 or 4 times each with different time stamps.

    Known issue?

I have had this issue as well and it seems to be either a registration issue between the device and the tower or you are in a spot where the network has trouble assigning you to a band because you are bouncing between them. Where i work i had the issue for three months but was finally able to get it resolved by them adjusting either the power level or tilt of the panels. After the resolution the band 41 signal seems to travel further as well.
  2. In my experience as long as the phone number is active the lease/financing will continue. The second the line is canceled thats when they bill you the balance.

I know people that did transfers of liability with a financed device and the payments came up due immediately. Maybe the device being activated on another account is the trigger or just something in the billing system when a transfer is done.
  3. Not true. Devices on sprint are unlocked after three months whether unpaid or undercontract. On Att a device undercontract will not be unlock unless the contract is fulfilled, so it is easier to get a phone unlocked with installments. As far as resell it doesn't matter at all.

It does matter for resale. If a device being financed is removed from your account then the remaining payments are supposed to come due immediately.
  4. guess we'll see if this works. I don't personally like it though and will fast forward through it. What I don't get is that when you see a t-mobile or Verizon ad, it is classy and to the point. I used to even rewind the t-mobile commercials because I liked then. So far I am embarrassed to be a Sprint costumer with these ads. I am not supposed to be on a budget carrier and don't want my ads to come across like it. You don't have to scream or be stupid to get your point across. Trust customers like they have a brain and not like Twitter and they will still get the message.

Classy? Did you see the Kim Kardashian ad from T-Mobile?

  5. I'm curious too.

    * total cost of new cell site broken down by:

**cost of equipment - antennas, basestations, etc - for a new cell site on existing tower

**cost of labor to instead equipment

    * cost of backhaul per month for, let's say, 100mbps symmetrical

    * cost to build tower (only) itself - say 100feet - if no existing tower.

I would also add the costs of supporting and surrounding towers. 2 sites in town wont get anyone to switch if the roads coming in and out are not covered as well. More towers would be needed and that increases the costs without adding additional subscribers potentially.

  6. View from the Dakotas: Much ado about nothing. Snow falls greater than 12" and punishing wind...nothing new. We had a 5' storm last season with 80 MPH winds. In October. No one even heard about it.

Yeah but that is the same as the old saying if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there does it make a sound? If a storm hits the Dakotas...no one is there...

  7. Been a spectator in the forum for years.. Finally thinking of making the leap to Sprint. Tried the Half Price Event on Sprint.com and even with a proper downloaded .pdf bill all I get is: "Uh oh! We're having trouble reading your bill. Please visit a Sprint Store."

I'm reluctant to turn in my phones from another carrier (something evil, and perhaps having to do with bells) in case it just doesn't work out. Anyone in the Cleveland area able to vouch for my leap of faith?

Sprint stores have been told to hold the traded in devices for 14 days in case customers change their minds.
