Japanese telecom operator SoftBank collaborated with network gear vendor Huawei on a field test of LTE Advanced in the 3.5 GHz band that supported a peak download speed of 770 Mbps and average download speeds of 500 Mbps. The test involved multiple LTE-A technologies to achieve those speeds, including carrier aggregation (CA), coordinated multi-point (CoMP) and cloud baseband, said the companies. The demo late last month was held in Tokyo's densely populated Ginza district and hosted by the Global TD-LTE Initiative (GTI). Members are interested in speeding up the release of 3.5 GHz spectrum for TD-LTE use. SoftBank and Huawei said Japan's government is expected to allocate spectrum from 3.4 to 3.6 GHz for commercial LTE networks by 2015. After thinking about it I might jump ship to this plan in the future. There's no device IMO worth getting right now. Yes the LG G2 will be Triband but they won't have TD LTE in my market for awhile and I don't see the need to invest in a Triband device now. Plus I'm eligible for an upgrade in June so I can wait almost a year and most/all high end smartphones will be Triband starting next year. I recommend this program for people who recently signed a contract and got maybe a 4s or any other smartphone that wants to get a Triband device quicker. Again you have to be on your current contract for 12 months to qualify for this offer

And to release it the day of launch of the new iPhone's was genius. Wonder how many new subscribers will sprint get from this program

If I can still get 25% off the data plan for the my way then this plan does kind of sound pretty good because ill end up paying 84.5 a month before taxes and I don't have insurance. Which is still great compare to the big two. But I don't switch my phones very often but with sprint always doing some new network change every year and of course you need a new device to use the new network this plan might sound pretty good.

Hmm this program is not for me but it's great for sprint. People can pretty much get a new iphone 5s 16GB for free.

Once sprint deploys the H block does that mean their existing 5x5 on 1900 goes to 10x10 on 1900 and will that double the data speeds?

I expected the iPhone 5s/c to be single band so to hear it supported 800 lte I'm definitely estactic about that. I'm contemplating about selling my iPhone 5 in exchange for Iphone 5c. I live in the country so lte on 2600 is not that important but it would have been nice if it was included

800 deployment only requires a carrier card and a system update. Doesn't require any new equipment since all of that is already there.

I prefer the indoor coverage too. I just hope they will support band 41 for the next model

It's actually 2500/2600

LTE 2600 is not even available in my area and won't be for sometime. Right now I'm concerned about LTE 800 but once Sprint SoftBank deploys LTE on 2600 then I hope the iPhone 6 will support band 41. No need to upset when majority of us don't have LTE 2600 in our area. And we all know the deployment for that wont start until next year.

I agree hopefully the next model will support the upper band. At least it supports 800mhz lte though.

I hope it's Triband for both devices. Even though I'm not going to buy them it just guarantees that all future iPhones mainly the 6 will be Triband
