  1. Premier Sponsors need to post Band 26 and Band 41 info in the Premier Sponsor section. Even if they obtain it. Only non Sponsors can post their information they obtain in public sections.

Sponsors and Premier Sponsor use our info every day to help them. It's the foundation they use to search. It's what drives them to even want to search. And thusly, you should post that info you obtain back in the appropriate Sponsor categories when you find it. If the information is given away, it will be the end of S4GRU. Why would anyone Sponsor the site?

I completely understand Robert.  I was unsure of the rules so I messaged COZisBack for clarification after posting (I will admit I should've asked first).  I apologize for putting some information out there.

Milwaukee market members -- Go Premier!!!  I'm in the process of trying to build a Milwaukee B26 map for the Premier Sponsor forums (and probably, eventually, a B41 map as well).  Certainly could use some help as the only areas I frequently visit are in the Madison/Baraboo area.

  2. Well its their site, but you pay the bills. That's a public piece of information on the city of Madison website and should be allowed in a public forum. That's allowable by their rules, unless they've changed their terms.

I'll be checking May 1 for the April reports......and I'll be staring at my tower again.

Yeah, I will be checking as well.  Seeing as that one has a date of 3/28, I am hoping that a lot more show up in the next permit report.

I wish it was on the west side of town...  Then I would've started swinging by there on my way home from work to see if anything is being done, but that's a little too far out of my way.

  3. Not sure what happened to Uecker87's post, but he's right, there's a permit in March for what must be Band 41 addition of 3 antennas to the Post Office Tower at Stoughton and Milwaukee

A mod took it down... I am not entirely sure as to why since it isn't something where I got the info from a sponsored forum. I found that piece of info myself. Hopefully they will let your post stay here. It is a good sign that B41 might start showing up soon!

  4. If memory serves, don't USCC LTE devices support 4 LTE bands? Don't they also support PCS and AWS too? I seem to recall an AJ article or post explaining how USCC devices were Quad Band long before Sprint's Triband devices came out.

I found this older topic that looks like at least some of them do.

  5. Its about 8-10 better. I've had my n5 hold onto a -129dbm b25 signal(usable at 4mb down),

That would do wonders in my area.  Definitely gonna give it some more thought.  Probably will take the plunge whenever the spark update hits the N5 since there are some B26 sites lighting up on my daily commute.  Thanks for the information.

  6. So I just picked up this phone and I must say: it's awesome! Way better than my g2. This is my first pure android experience and it's so nice.

So honestly how much better is the RF performance VS the G2 (on LTE)?  I've heard conflicting stories.  Obviously it is better, but can you give me an approximate real world example (5-10 dBm)?  I live on the edge of Sprints coverage and the G2's RF performance seems to get worse with every update.

I have been on the fence about outright buying the N5 and keeping my G2 as a backup.  My wife seems to break phones quite quickly, so it wouldn't hurt to have an extra lying around, haha.

  7. I noticed an additional B26 site on my way home today from Madison.  I picked it up on Hwy 12 close to the Hwy 19 intersection by Waunakee.  Not entirely sure which site is actually broadcasting it though because it was a rather weak signal and honestly with the propagation of B26 could've been any of the sites on the northern end of the Madison area.

    Still, another sign of progress!

  8. You might not need to restore to stock.

I got stuck in the bootloop as well and started the firmware download intending to do a restore. I went into download mode, then powered off.

When I powered back on, I was back to recovery. I figured since I was going to restore anyway, might as well give the update a try again since I saw the following on XDA: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51533599&postcount=612

If you can get back to recovery, give it another try.

That's what I tried, but my G2 got stuck every time on "Loading Recovery Mode" and would just sit there.  Oh well.  At least my phone is nice and clean like the day I bought it!  I had a ton of junk on there to clean up anyway.  I had my pictures and music backed up..  Just somehow forgot my contacts.

  9. Well...mine is completely toast...my impatience got the best of me...any one have any step by steps on  going back to the ZV7 updates and starting fresh?

Boot-loop?  Yeah, I had the same thing.  I found instructions on XDA.  Search for "LG G2 XDA" then go to G2 General -> LG G2 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock)

Note:  It does delete everything...  I assume you are aware, but I just wanted to make sure.

I used the instructions for AT&T and Sprint which are located a little bit down the first post.

  10. Well no such luck...

I've attempted Force Stop and Cleared Data at least 5 times in Google Service Framework and every time I hit check now on the LG Update software it simple show the current time.

Really tempted to simply do a factory reset and see if that works but I'll keep trying....

When you clear the data and go to check for updates does it show something like "Last Checked for Updates on 12/31/1969"?

Again, it took a couple tries for me but it definitely seems to be working for most.

  11. Under menu>settings>apps>all>Google Services Framework

It shows:   Force stop, Disable, Clear Data, Clear Cache

    These are the options available.

So I need to know precisely what to do.  Terrell352 said he cleared a few times???

I did clear data then tried to get an update...  Didn't work the first time, but I repeated it one more time and it was there.

  12. True boot loop is a more apt term :).

I'm about to do the same thing. Coming from HTC the restore process on this phone is so much more annoying with LGFlashtools requiring a lot of work to set up right but luckily I have already done it before so I should be up and running soon. This time I'll be patient and try the google framework method.

Yeah, I certainly wish I had gone the google framework way first.  A pain to have to reinstall apps and everything...  I even somehow must've forgotten to backup my contacts so this should be fun..

  13. Google framework clear a few times and it forced it!

Just worked for me too!  And they try to lie and say it has no effect.  I call BS.  :D

  14. Just a note for the adventurous and impatient type, do not try to adb side load the update. I downloaded the update zip from the google servers and then side loaded it in stock recovery and even on a stock unrooted ZVA build it bricked my phone. This happened to quite a few people apparently and luckily I can restore back to ZV7 when I get a chance. My data was all replaceable on my phone so it's not a big deal but just be patient!

Yeah I tried to side load it and got the boot-loop.  Ended up restoring to ZV7.  Oh well, a learning process.  I know how to restore my phone now!  :D

  15. So I am having some really big issues trying to boot into recovery so I can sideload this thing.  It worked for me before...  Anyone recommend any tips?  Vol- Down + Power button till LG screens appears then let go and do the same right?

  16. It is installing now....do you know where the download would be on my phone?  If I can find it, I will throw it up.

Did your install finish?  If so do you have any first impressions?  If you are in an area with LTE, any RF performance differences?

  17. It is installing now....do you know where the download would be on my phone?  If I can find it, I will throw it up.

Not entirely sure.  Of course I ran across the information in a thread earlier today, but I can't find it for the life of me now...  I think I read that it has to be uploaded after the download and before the installation of the update.  Maybe?  Probably too late anyhow.

  18. Mine is downloading RIGHT NOW!

    LS980ZVC_12_INC

    618.1 MB

Do you happen to know how to upload it possibly to someone on XDA?  Lets get this show on the road haha.  Seems like you were the first to get it.

  19. Hey, so... Did anyone in here switch to one of those framily plans? I got 2 lines I kind of want to hook up to a framily plan. Both are off-contract right now, one is from AT&T. The other line is mine. I'm on Sprint right now, but believe I could port my number over to a different prepaid service, then port back in to Sprint. Anyone have a framily ID they'd like to share and add 2 more lines?

PM'ing you right now with my Framily ID if you are still interested.  Currently have 4 on the group, so with 2 more we'd be at $30 per line.

Edit: And I have that offer for the $200 prepaid Visa for porting in a number.  Be sure to mention that when using my Framily  Not sure how that works, but if you can get a little extra money, why not.

  20. I'm picking up LTE from what I believe is Henry St. near the Capitol but out at Seminole Hwy and Nakoma? I am definitely connected to 800 for voice out here, but I believe that 1900 LTE is also coming from that same site. Can anyone up by the Capitol confirm that they have strong LTE near Henry Street. If this is true, that would be a new site broadcasting LTE.

Yeah, I noticed a 3rd GCI on campus today using SignalCheck, and I drove close to that site on Henry St. and was receiving a very strong LTE signal.  I'm not sure if it was that site or the West Washington site that I was receiving B26 from.  Had to be one of them though.  I was able to rule out the University Ave site on my way home from work.

  21. I'm in the Biochem Building, real close to you.  When I pull out of the Lot 17 ramp driving towards the Union South, I will switch from University Ave to West Wash, most likely due to the hill behind Camp Randall.  I bet you're on the West Wash tower.

Well, I'm in the Comp Sci building, and I just had a rather weird occurrence.  I went down to the basement to check out the signal there, and it was actually higher (-84 dBm)...  Sort of has me wondering if it is some sort of a small cell (I couldn't even get 3G down there before).  I hope it isn't that though, I would much rather it be the start of the spread of B26 all throughout the area.

  22. Probably the University Ave tower then. I'll get my friend with the N5 to check it out. I need the S5 to come out already!

Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk

I know that the N5 still has weird issues trying to get onto B26...  But hopefully your friend will be able to verify.

Also, I noticed that even though it parks on B25, whenever I need to use data it automatically jumps back to B26 since I have such a weak B25 signal.  Overall, lookin good!

Oh and it has to either be the University tower or the one on West Washington.  I'm by Union South and my 1x typically bounces between the two.

  23. This late in the afternoon there's no doubt Kit Kat 4.4.2 for the G2 will be released come Monday 31 March so the only question remains to beg is what time of day...

    Morning --- Noon ---- Afternoon???

    What's a few more days.

Agreed...  I certainly hope it's Monday.  I was a little anxious for it, but noticed at work that my G2 is picking up some B26 LTE!  The B26 has completely taken my focus off of the KitKat update, since it will probably mean more to me than the phone update.

Next week should be a good week though!  ;)
