  1.

I just do not understand why markets with 5 million + people are round 5 while other markets with less than 2 million people are round 2. No one has explained the reasoning for this.

There are not 5 million people in the Sacramento market, and there is not a round 5. This is a blog created to help spread the word of the spread of 4G before Sprint is planning to announce it, not to answer your unending questions about "why why why why why I don't have LTE but Verizon and AT&T have it." Sprint already offers 4G WiMax in Sacramento, and beat both Verizon and ATT to market. Either drop it or go check out www.community.sprint.com or dan@sprint.com

  2. I understand small cities getting up with larger cities, but there are smaller markets that are by them self getting upgraded before much larger markets. I would think the upgrade should happen by market size. What is kind of annoying is a small town 30 minutes from here is schedule to go live early 2013, while we will be lucky to see it by mid 2014.

I'd like to know what "small town 30 minutes from Sacramento" is getting NV in early 2013 that isn't tagging along with the big cities in the San Francisco or San Jose markets.

  3. Has anyone heard any news on the wireless charging kit for sprints GS3. I searched the forum and didn't find anything recent. I also know that there are third party kits out there as well as a official samsung back plate for verizon phones. I have read that all of these will work on sprints gs3 but we would lose nfc capability.

Still nothing from Samsung. There is a Powermat Case that I have been considering, but I really like my Otterbox Commuter and I haven't seen the powermat case in person, so I don't know how much bulk it adds or how well it protects the phone.

I am scouring the net looking for a case that provides good protection, allows NFC to operate, has an extended battery in the case, and has wireless charging built in. The touchstone type connection with strong magnets would be awesome for having in the car. I know I am dreaming on this, as it will probably have to be a custom job to get it all. Would be really cool though.

  4. I don't see how what sprint is doing is much different then when verizon first launched its LTE network. Verizon launched LTE in all of the major population areas of California within a few months of each other' date=' it looks like sprint will take closer to 2 years. I don't see how that is faster.[/quote']

Verizon merely added a LTE overlay to their existing network. Sprint is completely renovating their network. Two different things.

Also, Verizon used 700 mhz spectrum, so their initial rollout could achieve "blanket (outdoor) coverage" with few, sparse sites. Then they go back and thicken the sites to provide in-building coverage and additional capacity.

If you came here just to complain about Sprint not meeting your needs, I suggest you find a different website. Community.sprint.com would be a good one for you.

  5. No I most certainly did not . That is your interpretation of my words ' date=' I do not condone missuse . I believe that some are caught up with conspiracy theroy that a few avid users will bring down the plans and network which I for one simply do not believe .[/quote']

It is proven in these forums that the network cannot sustain everyone "burning them if you have them." Did you bother to read this entire discussion? Or just jump in at the end and insert the same ignorant viewpoint that was proven to be selfish and irresponsible long ago?

Bottom line: if you can offload to wifi, you should.

  6. So, I was cruising craigslist and saw an ad for a new LG Optimus for $125 and was going to snatch it up, no matter the esn status... until the guy emailed back and said it was the optimus s, new in the box... um, no, not interested. Although, a optimus s new in the box might have some value as an antique.

  7. Good for you guys... my parents live several states away and they get to keep up with the goings on of my life. Also, when i am deployed, it works as a general source for family and friends to see that I am doing fine and I get a little piece of home... all except for a guy I've been friends with for 18 years. He refuses to get a facebook account out of some sense of pride, or he just wants to be a jerk...

  8. Alex Dobie of Android Central has started the rumor-mongering. Sprint LTE variant coming late Q1 2013 with 32 GB.

    http://forums.androidcentral.com/rumored-devices/227371-sprint-nexus-4-a.html

So: is that too soon for band 26? Or Clearwire LTE? I guess it will hinge on if it is truly a fully-customized Sprint setup' date=' or more like what Apple did where they attempt to cover the entire world's networks with as few variants as possible.[/quote']

That has been what I've been thinking all along. It would only benefit Android and LG by bringing the phone to every carrier possible.

Also, I one of the comments saying something about Sierra Nevada ruthless rye... Very delicious beer, one of my favorites.

  9. As much as folks down this device I'm finding it a real pleasure to use. The screen is indeed beautiful ( I'm not saying it's more beautiful than any other device)' date=' the form factor works well for my hands and this screen size makes just about everything more pleasurable to do than on my phone or Kindle Fire.

I'm loving the app selection as well. I don't think I'll ever be an iPhone guy simply because I prefer the android look and feel in a phone but there is no denying that the iPad is a great device.[/quote']

Yes, I agree that the iPad is a great device, but there is no way I can give up the freedom that android, namely nexus devices, gives me.

  10. Tried that... then you get pissy so called friends and relatives complaining that you aren't friends with them. I got tired of all the garbage after it turned into a bunch of children from kindergarten. So I solved it, removed everyone from my friends list and deactivated the account. Best thing I've done. I know several people that have done the same. In the end I realized I got absolutely zero out of Facebook and was just dragging me down.

When people get pissy because I won't approve their friend request, I tell them that maybe they should "stop posting worthless [garbage]"

Yes, I am an a-hole in real life as well...

  11. I was at the denver airport and drove to colo springs and i had ehrpd all the way down how long till it will get Lte then??

I certainly hope you are joking... If not, eHRPD deployment has very little to do with the LTE deployment timeline. eHRPD just needs to be deployed prior to LTE for there to be a smooth handoff. So there is no set time between eHRPD occurance and LTE. It could be weeks or many months.

  12.

The fact that the data plan can be turned on or off when I need it or not is what sealed the deal for me. You can also activate the data from the device so you don't have to go to a computer or call in. I also chose Verizon as the carrier so that I would have connectivity choice if I am in a poor Sprint coverage area.

You guys convinced me to consider a tablet with cellular data. The nexus 10 doesn't have it yet, so that leaves a nexus 7 on at&t (yuck) or a xoom... I am on a boycott of forked devices. The Kindle HD is more appealing to me than anything claiming to be android with a mfg skin on it.

  13.

Spacebook free for 18 months now. Love it! People actually have to communicate directly with me. All the bragging sugar daddy marrying chicks and baby mama drama stays on space book.

    Sent from my SPH-L900

I don't allow idiots onto my friend list. Problem solved.

  14. Thanks for all the suggestions. After all the misc money spent getting ready to move I may have to wait a while. A friend also suggested I take my old 2008 Macbook Pro and use XMBC on it. Then again the Moxi box the cable company wants to sell me would give me a DVR function' date=' but its 20 a month.[/quote']

I hope they improved the MOXI boxes since I had one. It was a giant POS. Always overheating, random formatting of the hard drive, etc. The cable company replaced it a few times and then offered a less feature rich DVR that worked perfectly. It was a good idea, one even had a dvd player in it so there was one less gadget on the entertainment center, but it was buggy...

That was years ago though, and I would sure hope they have improved their dvr boxes by now.
