Looks like none of the towers on Gunn Hwy or Bush Blvd are going to be getting lte any time soon. As a matter a fact one of the towers that is marked as sprint has no panels at all. It's literally just a pole with nothing attached. When I drove up to it, it says its owned by a water company.

That is a monopole all the panels are mounted in the pole. If you want to see what one looks like opened up there is one currently open at 54 and suncoast

It is on SR 54 in Wesley Chapel, just west of Eiland Blvd/Morris Bridge Road. Around 5 miles East of I75.

Check the tower behind the KIA dealer at 54 and 75 that one is being done by same contractor as lol and springhill towers

Any way to get info on the NV upgrade status of the tower near my house? TA54XC002. I took some pictures of it today. I don't think I see NV panels or RRUs, but I'm no expert...

No there are no NV panels on that tower. where is it located?

Weird that it looked like thing were starting to light up and now nothing new so far this week. I hope they are not taking off for Christmas early.

If you look at JAX and ORL they did the same thing, 3 or 4 towers come online then all has gone quiet. I think Sprint is pushing hard to get a few towers up in each Market so they can then claim to have coverage in all these markets. Looks better on paper and to investors than it does in real life. they can currently say they have LTE in Florida's 4 major markets. They don't have to say how much

Good to know. I was very disappointed for awhile there.

So I decided to take 75 into the office this morning. I held LTE until 275 cutoff. after that it was 3G. I would like to know which phone is holding onto LTE until BB Downs. I pickup a 3G tower full strength at 275 so there is no way I am going to be able to reach back to the LTE tower at one bar.

So, two of the three sites appear to be in Pasco County (assuming the Shady Hills tower is on the south side of the county line). Does this mean that they are probably having an easier time of getting permits/access in this county, or it just plain luck?

it is in Pasco. Has anyone checked out the Tower at the Kia Dealer at SR54 and I-75. same company that did Spring Hill and Land O'Lakes has permits pulled for it. I haven't had a chance to stay on 75 for that extra ride up there to at least see if there are panels up.

Is there a way to tell was the land o lakes tower one of the first that was in progress? i am not able to see the other maps or spreadsheets that shows in progress or complete.

 

I am just wondering is there a reason that they are starting with sites not in the meto area first.

I don't remember exactly when but I remember reporting seeing the Panels on that tower about a month ago. should be a post about it, just to lazy to go searching. If you search my posts you should find it.

Was in Brandon today trying to get directions somewhere and nothing was loading. Decided to run a speed test. How is this acceptable? There better be significant changes in this area soon.

yeah this is my daily average at work in Sable Park off MLK and 301. It sucks!

I couldnt acquire LTE anywhere on 75 from Fletcher to BB Downs. Wonder of the Evo radio still doesn't want to lock onto a signal that weak. Do you know how good the signal was by any chance?

My Note II doesn't pickup anything in that area either. I don't pickup the Land O'Lakes tower until after I turn onto 56 heading toward 54. then I usually drop signal before I get to 41. haven't gone south on 75 from the tower to see how long it hangs on because I take the Vets into town.

I'll be going to map the Clearwater site later today unless one of you get there before me.. Let me know..

I went south today and didn't get anything at all where we initially mapped. Easy come easy go. I swear these Ericsson techs are watching sensorly more than us. If I catch one I will make him tell me all his secrets.

 

I'm still trying to figure out why they were on the tower around the corner from my house on Thursday night. Pitch black out and they are climbing like they got nothing to do.

Are Ericsson Techs like leprechauns? Does he have to give you his pot of LTE if you catch him?

I figure since he mark the Springhill 1 completed he would do the others

I sent Robert a note letting him know that the Land O'Lakes Tower can be marked completed on the maps. Does anyone know which tower(s) exactly are lit in St.Pete? maybe drop Robert a note.

Someone today said they got lte in Wesley chapel. Isn't that where wire grass is?

it is more land o'lakes than wesley chapel if you take 75 north from Tampa and get off on SR 56, take a left onto 56 and in about 1/2 mile it becomes 54 all in that area you should have LTE, once you get to past Ferman Jeep and you see the cumberland farms you will see the tower on your left it is hugh you can miss it.

So can somebody chime in on this? There is a single carrier tower near the 301 and Crosstown Expwy intersection. It looks to have NV panels with the RRUs on them. but I just checked the NV site map and that tower doesn't show up on the map. Do other carriers use similar looking panels?

Went West off the Land O Lakes exit SR 56. The LTE is available right as you approach the exit and gets stronger the further west you go.

My Note II picked it up West of the tower but I dropped LTE just as 54 transitions to 56 and was about to hit the interstate. maybe the EVO radio isn't that bad. I didn't have it on the Interstate.

Unless wildman is still riding around up there and wants to check

 

 

Hey I know what site you are talking about now. I think the permit that was pulled on that site was the same company that did the site in Spring Hill. They had a nother that was close to that site. If anyone is going back to that area I can skim the permits and find it let me know

Yeah it was SBA they have another site by the KIA dealer on 54 which is further north. Might try to run up there after work today.

I'm seriously considering it. Love everything else about this phone so I am going to wait the full 30 days (Best Buy policy) before I switch it out.

 

What sucks about them lighting up this weekend is that I won't even be here for it!!! At least I'll be back Sunday to check out what we've gained (hopefully).

I loved the phone too, and compared to the Note II, I prefer Sense UI, they put very little bloatware on the EVO, display quality is better, Camera is better, and of all things I miss the kickstand the most . But when I heard of all the network issues and then found out BestBuy would be giving me back $50 in the EVOLTE to Note II swap it was a no brainer.
