  1. How about South Lake Tahoe? My sister would greatly benefit from 800 as she still uses an airave.
  2. Switching to Framily makes sense if we are going to loose phone subsidy. Is there a solid indication that this will happen? If so will it only happen to SERO/EPRP customers or to customers with plans like Everything Data 1500 as well?
  3. Thank you for that explanation. I was confusing CDMA 800 with LTE 800. My obvious follow up question is will the area get Band 26 and if so will it happen anytime soon or is it 2-3 year away?
  4. Has anyone in the Modesto (or other Band 26 active) area gotten the Spark update on their LG G2? If so have you noticed a difference? I'm mostly curious about your indoor signal strength improving.
  5. Which triband Sprint Smartphones already have "Spark" active out of the box without having to wait for an over the air update? Are there any that are Spark enabled right now? I'm assuming the Nexus 5 is but I wanted to check on this. Also when (rough estimate) will Sprint send the update for the phones that aren't Spark enabled out of the box? I did a search on several pages but I didn't feel like reading hundreds of pages of threads to find the answer to this so I thought I'd just ask here. Thanks
  6. I toggled airplane mode but couldn't pick up LTE near the mall in Modesto around 4 pm today on my Galaxy Note 2.
  7. I wouldn't get too excited. I'm only getting LTE in a small part of town. They're probably just testing it. Turlock seems to have a lot of LTE though. I'll drive by the mall a little later today and update my findings. A few of my speed tests near Sylvan and Clause in Modesto already show up on Sensorly.
  8. I'm in Modesto right now picking up LTE. Mapping on Sensorly Signal is steady and I'll be working and mapping here all day today between Modesto, Ceres and Turlock.
  9. Sprint adds new towers occasionally. I'm sure it's very expensive to do so and far less expensive to just upgrade existing towers. Once the 800Mhz band is up and running you should get a signal in a lot of places you didn't before assuming you have a Sprint Spark (tri-band) phone. This link shows a new tower in Washington DC. https://network.sprint.com/DC/Washington/
  10. Does the update enable both 41 and 26? Can one enable these on their own via dial pad if they have their MSL? Is "early 2014" only in select regions or nationwide? I wish we had a little more solid time frame of this update.
  11. Tmobile shows the full price of the G2 at $604. $199 on Sprint contact according to android central. You should be able to buy it on Sprint's one up program but you have to have one of the newer "Truly Unlimited" plans. From what I understand the early upgrade program only works on Sprint's new plans.
  12. Yeah I got excited to see those crazy fast 2+Mb speeds early Sunday morning (8am) but they didn't last. At the 24hr Fitness I'm back to 100-200kbps speeds and stop and go music playback on Pandora. The intersection at Bruceville/Sheldon was getting about 1.5Mbps down Sunday morning as well. Maybe another tower is in testing. Those 2 towers on Laguna near Franklin are coming close to their 6 month mark. Hopefully we see them to see them go live soon!
  13. Driving to Trader Joes this morning I hit the speed test app real quick while at the stop light on Bruceville Rd and Big Horn Blvd in Elk Grove. It was 3G but I tested at 2.3Mbps down and over 1Mbps up. That has never happened in the 2 years I've lived in Elk Grove. I'm happy to get over 1Mbps down. Yes it was Sunday morning but still I've never seen speeds that fast around here. Something is going on.
  14. Nice, it's good to see some progress. I almost gave up on Sprint today. I wen't to the T-mobile store on Bruceville and Elk Grove Blvd and they said they had no data service at the moment since their towers were being upgraded. They told me to check back in a few days haha. I thought it was funny. So instead I just donated to this site. I'm gonna hang around since the grass is not always greener.
  15. I don't believe my eyes but Sensorly shows some purple off Laguna Blvd at High Tech Ct in Elk Grove!
  16. For the last 2 days my 3G is obsolete. Pandora internet radio stops playing more often than it actually plays at my gym (24 Hour Fitness - 8785 Center Pkwy Sacramento). They don't have Wi-Fi at the gym so I have to use 3G. The last 2 days I've just been playing the music I've got saved on my Galaxy Note 2. I ran a speed test this morning and got .02mbps down. Now I can't even run a speed test anymore. Hoping some work is going on around here. Sprint hasn't been great out here for a long time though I usually speed test at .3 -.4mbps but now I can't even run a speed test standing outside. I've tried several times this afternoon. Hoping this is good news as I live very close to that gym!
  17. I just filed a complaint. The rep had me repeat the location and the zip code about 5 times before he finally got it (I assume he had to input it into several screens). I was wondering what was going on there. I am there a lot and you're right there has been zero data for what seems to be 2 weeks.
  18. Well I was in Phoenix for the last couple of days and things actually seem a little better there. The same office I visited in Chandler, AZ where I had almost no 3G data back in April has improved. I speed tested around 450-500kbps there this time. Also I was in constant roaming at my aunts house in Waddell, AZ in April (tiny town just northwest of Phoenix) and now I was getting 2-3 bars of Sprint service and about the same 450kbps on 3G. In Phoenix itself I drove around to the mall and a few other places. Nothing mind blowing but I did manage a few speed tests that were just over 1mbps. Certainly tolerable speeds. I still say you guys will see LTE before we do in Sacramento.
  19. I was in Phoenix back in April and data was kind of pathetic. I was thinking "I bet it'll be way better when I come back here at the end of July". I'm going back next week and by the looks of this forum it hasn't changed much. It still sucks in Sacramento too so I feel your pain. At least we have 4G starting to light in a couple towns close to us.
  20. From the real quick Google search I did it sounds like 10dBm equals about a 33% reception increase, is that right?
  21. My sister and brother in law are on my Sprint family plan. They live just over the border on the Nevada side of South Lake Tahoe. They currently use an Airave to get signal. I know there aren't many towers in their area. Would Network Vision upgrades help their voice signal get any stronger? If it helps they're on Andria Drive zip code 89449. I read back on the last 25 or so pages and didn't see anything about South Lake Tahoe.
