True. Funny thing is about that tower that just went live is there are 3 others that were in progress with panels hung and cabinets set before the panels were hung on that one

Well I'm not sure she should get stuck with an inferior phone either. If it was my son that might be a different story because his need for data is limited so that may make more sense. I just got off the phone with Sprint about 15 min ago. They wanted me to pay 250 early upgrade. Needless to say I didn't take that well

Don't sweat the launch thing. It's not like the day of the announcement that suddenly 1000 new towers light up. Just hope that we keep getting towers online

The Note2 LTE coverage is downright crazy. I keep accidentally picking up a site that is about 7 miles from one location. Pulls about 3 mbit on download.Saw another random Sensorly dot on the south side of town. Sure enough. Same site about 5 miles away. That site isnt some crazy guyed antenna boomer either. A monopole site in the middle section of town.

So the worse thing happened today. My girlfriend went to Sprint and asked for an early upgrade and got the Note 2. Why is that bad? Because as much as I thought my LTE had improved with the update a month or so ago, to see it next to the Note was a slap on the face. I haven't had a chance to play with it but her Note picked up and held the LTE signal far longer that my LTE. Longer as in miles. Not sure what I'm gonna do yet with Sprint but I'm pissed of course. My girl says she thinks the phone is too big so she is willing to trade but I don't want her to have an inferior phone either.

Makes me wonder how good my coverage might be.

The other site is right next to Tyrone Mall and it is also right next to the Pinellas Trail. I'm not sure if it is a Sprint tower but it sure looks like it.

I know the the site that you're talking about that is not a Sprint site it's AT&T I believe I saw guys working there about a month ago and on the very top of that site

Tower sightings near Tyrone Mall. One tower right next to Tyrone mall by the pinellas trail. Another on a rooftop on 66th Street near TJ Max and the Toys R Us plaza. Both are sending great LTE signals both outside and indoors.

Matt I know about the rooftop site.. The other I'm not familiar with?

I feel similar. My wife has a GS3 and I feel the screen is oversaturated and I prefer the EVO's metal construction. Hurts that the connectivity suffers though. It's a toss up!

It stayed connected, but in order for it to connect to LTE I had to put it in airplane mode. I think before it was every 5 seconds it scanned, it might be 5 minutes now.

Don't want to tun this into a EVO thread but the timing change might be for the best. Its seems my phone right now in deployment stage gets confused when it is between coverages

There's still nothing east of 275 in St. Pete. From Pinellas Point all the way up. The 3G down town is faster for me than the weak 4G signal. But I know it's coming. I gotta be patient.

It seems the farther they get the slower LTE gets my speeds have been 1-2 down on LTE I use to get 10-15 down

I was actually a little disappointed in that tower and the coverage it provided until I just looked at the sponsor map. There are few sites that will augment this ones coverage. I'm not an engineer but my guess is this site is just slated for the very shopping area there. Mall, restaraunts, strip malls all in that area is what it likey is serving.

Ultimately, even if you were to use the bar as a indicator.. What would one bar be worth in signal strength? Something to something? If it doesn't give me a number I'm not buying it.

I was able to map that 66th/Tyrone area a little better.. Not sure why the tracks are not coming out right but at least it's marked..

If you zoom in close at tyrone and 30th av n there's a few dark spots.

As I came across Tyrone to 66th, my signal was about -110 which I expected coming from the site at 66th and 54th, as I headed south on 66th though my signal dropped to -79 to -90

I'm waiting for my tracks to show up.. Should be a dark purple but it didn't carry that far to Central Ave.. So it must go down 22nd maybe and rely on another site to the south to pick it up into Gulfport?

And now I have to back track.. Saw a brief 4G signal, did a toggle. Viola.. It's weak but I'm inside and that to be expected and it's coming and going..

I live in the Azalea neighborhood near Tyrone Mall in Saint Petersburg. Also around 9th Avenue and 72nd Street North. Hope that helps.

I live roughly in the same area. I have no LTE in the house. That doesn't mean anything of course. You have be getting a signal from an in progress site that my have been turned on. I'll know in the morning when I drive by the site

Where are you getting 4G LTE at in Lakeland? I am able to get 4G Wiimax in certain areas in downtown Lakeland with my Evo 3D. I told my wife to keep an eye out and see when 4G LTE pops up on her phone, but we haven't seen anything yet. She has a Note 2.

Take a look at Sensorly..its in a couple of spots..They are def working in your area

Does sprint have to pull permits to add nv upgrades in florida? I live in polk county and ive tried to find permits for the towers and none of then have permits pulled, yet 4g is popping up on sensorly in lakeland
