  1. That is excellent! @JossMan recently sent me a PM about that resolving the same issue on his S3; I didn't get a chance to look into it until tonight, and then saw you had already posted about it here. I saw your report, it looks like the issue is at least partially fixed -- the real test will be if it actually changes from 310-120 if you connect to Band 41.

It's too bad that users need to figure out that they need to run a separate app to resolve the issue, but at least there is a fix available. I posted the link on the "Known Issues" section of the SignalCheck website, hopefully it works well for everyone! :tu:

Unfortunately, no band 41 around me to test. I only have 25 and 26 here so far.

  2. It appears as though running the Refresh Customization app that Samsung released for the S4T has solved the 3100 error (at least on my phone). Here's the link to the app for those who haven't seen it yet.

I have to give credit to cooljb for posting the info in the S4T section. I ran both option 1 & 2 so I'm not sure which one fixed the issue but the provider information is now being reported.

Mike, I just sent you a diagnostic report to confirm.

  3. Post a screen shot of your settings or email me what you did at teeitupmo@gmail.com. I have poor Sprint coverage at home so i use airave and now wifi callng. But Verizon has 5 bars where i live.. Would love to use their towers for voice and data

If you have any voice coverage from Sprint, it won't let you roam on Verizon. I'm in an area this week that has zero Sprint coverage. The closest Sprint tower is 40+ miles away. The only coverage here is Verizon and US Cellular.

If Verizon coverage is so much better in your area, it may be worth it to switch or maybe look into getting a Verizon home phone connect. It's $20 a month for unlimited calls.

  4. I (and MANY others) had the same problem after the Wi-Fi calling update. I initially fixed it myself with Odin. Samsung has since created an app in the Play Store called "Refresh Customization" that many people have reported fixes these issues caused by the W-Fi calling update. There are 2 options in the app, do both of them. I would try the app first, if that doesn't work, use Kies, or if you're a true geek, use Odin and re-flash your phone with the NC6 firmware.

Finally, someone who knew how to fix my phone problems. I now have roaming coverage where I'm at this week. My wifi calling still isn't working but I'm on a super slow dsl connection (read: barely above dial- up speeds) so that may be the problem. I'll try that again when I get back home.

  5. Even though it showed "Sprint" in Sensorly?

Thank you for the info just the same.

Lol. "All around you". I'm with ya.

It will still show as Sprint on your phone in the Shentel market. There's another thread on this site for that market too. It begins just south of Harrisonburg on I-81 and goes into the Harrisburg PA area. It covers a fairly sizable area.

  6. Good news is band 26 is active in Stephens City and Front Royal. Bad news is I still haven't ran into it here in Winchester.

Add Woodstock to the list. I'm picking it up at my house in town now. Most of Shenandoah County is now covered in B26.

Strasburg, Toms Brook, Maurertown, Woodstock, and Edinburg are all covered. I did also pick it up near the Forestville area but it was only briefly. I don't travel through the south end of the county as much as the north end but when I do, I'll post back.

I also picked it up in Middletown and Stephens City earlier this week in Frederick County.

  7. May be a repeater of some sort. There are a number of locations where repeaters are utilized rather than deploy a full macro site. You're certain signal from there?

It had to be from there. I had around -45 signal on both 1x and 3G. The closest tower is on the other side of a hill about a mile away. People used to drop calls there a lot so I'm sure that's why it's there. I just have never seen anything like that before.

  8. Has anyone seen any small cells deployed in the Shentel area? I believe I may have found an area where one is, but it's a little different than I expected. As I was driving through an area with traditionally low signal, I noticed a couple days ago that I had a really strong 1x1900 signal and equally strong ehrpd signal. Last night, as I was driving through the same area, I had a roughly -95 1x800 signal but a -45 ehrpd signal. I then transitioned back to weak LTE signal a few seconds after I noticed it.

If this is a small cell, it is apparently only broadcasting a non-LTE PCS only signal.

Just wondering if I stumbled upon something unique or if there may be others out there. I didn't have time to try to locate where it was coming from but I was passing a Shentel switching station for their landline telephone service and I'm suspecting it was coming from there. I'll try to look for the antenna if I get some time this week.

Finally found what referenced in my previous post. Has anyone ever seen one of these? As I said above, it's broadcasting 1x1900 and ehrpd 3G.

I found it on Rt 11 (Main St) in Toms Brook, VA on top of a power pole.

  10. There are actually three antennas housed inside the casing. Each can have it's own independent downtilt of up to 10° from the downtilt of the main unit.

Crews are flying on 800 LTE activations, not waiting for the optimization crews to catch up. It may be as much as 6 months before sites are optimized after activations. The same held true for the 1900 LTE rollout.

Thanks for the reply. Good info.

  11. I'm running into the same thing here in Tampa. Maybe they have to adjust the tilt on band 26 because allot of the sites here have the same or even slightly worst dbm.

Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk

Most everything I know comes from this site but my understanding is that B26 and B25 are broadcast from the same antennas. The only band that doesn't come through the NV antennas is B41, which needs separate antennas.

So, if the B25 downtilt has already been adjusted, I don't think a 2nd adjustment would be needed.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

  12. The feature is not broken..I have the same version of S4, the 720T. I use WiFi calling all the time. It works flawlessly.

I thought you got that issued fixed. How can I help?

Sent from my SPH-L720T using Tapatalk

No, never had it working. I've seriously tried everything and can't get past the same screen every time.

  13. So for what the update is advertised to be I can't seem to enable the function did a whole device network reactivation and it profile pro update manually. But will still showing a network work error.

Just make sure you have wifi calling on your account. That seems to solve the issue for most people.

I have the S4T with the wifi calling update and have never been able to get it to work despite 3 factory resets, and doing just about everything else anyone can come up with to try to get it to work. When I click on wifi calling, it goes to a self service screen, I hit "proceed" and then it tells me the activation cannot be completed over the phone and to take the phone to a Sprint store or to call customer service. I never even get to the point to accept the terms and conditions. It's been frustrating.

I'm waiting on a call from an upper level tech support person. I was told it could take 72 hours for a call back. I'm not holding my breath though. Every time a company ever says they will call back, they pretty much never do. I'll post back if Sprint ever figures out why it's not working on my phone.
