  1. update:  so now that a lot of the leaves are off the trees, i was able to get on cityview drive and take a look down at the antennae on park bank and they do not appear to be upgraded. i did notice there are all sorts of utility markers down the hill from the bank in front of Unos, as in the entire hillside is covered with them. Maybe backhaul work?

Well, that's disappointing.  Try to get a picture with a camera with a zoom if possible. Sometimes they sneak that equipment up there in other locales.

  2. What is wrong with Janesville?

He was just hoping for some place semi-cool, like Madison.

    :P

Well, the land of Paul Ryan has been coated in LTE goodness for a while already.  I was hoping for some new insight in the state.....like perhaps Madison as mentioned, mainly because we have all our towers (except 3) in progress, but only 3-4 accepted.  Nothing against Janesville in particular. :)

  3. No active work on the FH tower as of about 1/2 hour ago. There has clearly been some work done, and there is equipment on the ground as mmark said before, but I couldn't see anything on the tower itself.

Here are some pictures, maybe someone more experienced will notice something I didn't.

Oh how very exciting.  Clearly nothing on the tower yet as its all sitting in the fence.  NICE WORK DUDE.  I think they dumped that there on Friday, cause I saw them in the same condition yesterday, but that stinkin' copper prevented me from creepin' a picture.  Surprised they weren't actively working there today.  Perhaps they moved over to the Hilldale location??

EDIT: Hopefully that cardboard was placed there by them and not the "neighborhood kids" cause that's not the greatest area.

Looking at the number of unaccepted towers with NV antennas on them in Madison, I wouldn't be surprised if the city about to be launched is Madison... happy thoughts :)

Yup, I'm hopeful too considering that the crews I've spoke with didn't say there were any backhaul delays.  So it's a matter of getting them approved and inspected.  Also, I posted your pictures up to the In Progress thread from earlier, hope you don't mind.

  4. The Boston market covers the whole state of Massachusetts, there are still spots in the state that haven't been launched yet.

And they made the best roast chickens...... (Boston Market)

That would make sense. I was hoping for sooner than later, it's been quite some time since their last announcement, and the LTE footprint has grown quite a bit since then.

Thanks for the teaser Dkoellerwx!  Excited to see which Milwaukee Market cities make it!

  5. I hate to say this, but nothing to report on the West side of Madison (research park area). At least I can get a sprint signal (last week was horrible)! Hopefully I will see something during my lunch walk, if so, I will try and snap some pictures.

Hilldale and Fish Hatchery are the only 2 non NV equipment towers on the west side

  6. If you are referring to my post, you may want to read it again. Milwaukee itself is not going to be announced, rather a city or two in the market which covers most of southern Wisconsin.

To which post do you think he's referring? Link? Me thinks I reside in a city with such a description.

  7. Yeah, they were there working on Friday evening too.

Hey grumpwagon, are you able to get to the tower on the near West of the Capitol? On a large apt building. See if there's anything new on it? I bet this West Wash crew will head there next. There are legacy panels with a nice space in the middle that faces the Capitol. Anyways perhaps keep that one on your radar to check.

Went to the Fish Hatchery tower today, there were 3 shiney antennas laying on the ground. I didn't get any pictures because there was a cop back in that lot for some reason.....didn't want to explain why and what I was doing back there. :-) I'll stop by tomorrow post work.

  8. Have you tried to update your profile? And PRL? Yo most likely tried this. What you should try next is to flash the latest firmware again. At least the modem. That should fix it.

  9. How can you verify Sprint NV antennas? I'm a noob at this, but I'd like to check towers near me if I'm in the area.

That begs the question, how can I get the location of Sprint antennas in my area?

    Thanks in advance.

  10. A quick update about the Madison east side towers. The tower by the south town Wal-Mart does not have any NV antennas yet. The McFarland, Monona water tower and Buckeye rd towers all have NV antennas mounted. I took pictures... I'll try to get them uploaded this evening

Beg to differ about the Super Walmart on South Towne site.  It's the bottom rack, NV equipment is there.

I also have the Monona water tower in this post.  I don't have the Buckeye tower past the interstate yet, or the Sigglekow Rd tower either near the Curling center....if you have those, that would be great to post up to the in progress site.

  11. whats the diffrence between completed and accepted completed?

Sorry for the confusing terminology.  There are Sites in Progress that have visible stuffs like new antennas, cabinets, backhaul Fiber evidence, etc.  However, until they show up on Robert's pretty "NV Sites Complete" thread (in sponsor section), they are not technically "complete".  At that point (when they show up on the map), everything needed has been installed, they've been tested and inspected/approved.  That said, they may be Sprint accepted/complete site and still not be broadcasting juicy LTE goodness that we can connect to....perhaps its broadcasting but we can't get the signal.  Does that help?

  12. just out of curiosity, how many sites in Milwaukee are left for the upgrade, compared to total number of sites, in addition what is it for Madison? Also are they waiting for both Madison and Milwaukee to finish before turning it on?

also what makes watertown, beaver dam, fon du lac, sheboygan, and whitewater so special that they recieved the upgrade first, are they not in the same market?

Madison (and surrounding area) has 5 total towers left that don't have NV equipment on them. Fish Hatch and Beltline, Hilldale, West Wash (might be being worked on) nearest West of Capitol and nearest East. However, not many that are actually "accepted complete" by Sprint. See earlier for hand waving explanations.

No idea what the turn on schedule might be but at least here, we're poised. I'm sure Milwaukee is in the same boat.

The towns you mentioned at the end have between 1 and 6 towers total in them. That's easier to finish than Milwaukee with brazillions of sites.
