  1. Anyone else getting more spam calls than ever before in the past few months? I'm beginning to suspect that maybe Sprint has sold our numbers to 3rd party companies or they've been compromised.

It's always random calls with automated machines or a quick ring with no one one the other end at least once every two days. The reason I'm suspecting Sprint being behind this is due to some of the lines on my account receiving automated machines that specifically mention my name (this is a first!). I have never associated my name with any number other than my own on anything I do. The only company that would know that my name is linked to the numbers that have received these calls is Sprint!

So what the hell Sprint?! I do paperless billing, so I doubt someone went through my mail and stole my info and numbers on my account. This is shady as hell and Sprint is the only one that would have known. Fortunately, Google Dialer has a nice way of weeding out Spam numbers, but it still bugging the shit out of me.

I've been getting a bunch of spam calls too as of late. A lot of them are from all different states across the US according to Caller ID. They're all automated and seem to be pretending to be from "consumer services". It's really annoying, especially when they decide to call me at 6 in the morning or after 10 at night.

  2. Yea over on Reddit I've seen so many posts of people saying they are considering getting a unlimited plan for the hotspot since it's unlimited and using it as their source of internet for their home and cancelling the home isp. I mean it's high speed but it's going to slow down to either 3G or 2g afterwards no matter what carrier you get.

Yeah I've seen those people too. It's a shame that people would do such a thing. They either don't realize how much of a burden they will be on the network, or they just don't care.

  3. It is because most folks use an internet service provider for their home internet, not their cell phone carrier. Judas Freaking Priest, 700GB per month.

That's what I'm saying. I can't believe that there are people that would get rid of their home ISP for 10 GB of monthly tethering. Not that I would ever use use my cellular carrier as my home ISP, but 10 GB is nowhere near enough for us.

Is 700 GB's on a home ISP a lot for you? We have four people in my house, all with their own computer and cell phone that run on the WiFi. Along with multiple people who come over every day and also use the WiFi. And I also stream almost all of my video content, and play online games almost every night. Along with downloading things. All of that data adds up. Lol.

  4. I think over time things will level out after the newness wares off with people after a month or so of having it. There will be some who will cancel their home internet because they have 10gb of hotspot. To me that's dumb

Jeez, 10 GB is absolutely nowhere near enough for us to use a month. Lol. I can blow through that by myself in one day on our home internet. We use upwards of 600-700 GB's per month. I can't believe there are people who use that little data a month on their home internet.

  5. Framily could get down to like $37 per line (maybe it was $45 or $50 or so with unlimited) if you had 7 or more people (found easily through reddit). Sprint's unlimited promo they ran last year with the 4th line free (without expiration) was a bit cheaper, at $37.50 per line ($150 total) before taxes and fees, and has no throttling other than deprioritization after 23GB, plus 3GB of hotspot. That's still the best plan for a group of 4 that I've seen on Sprint, and I think is cheaper than ED1500 once you add in phone payments.

45 for unlimited data per line or 35 (3gb) / 25(1gb) when you had 7 minimum with annual upgrades (now +$5) included if u had unlimited data.

We have 7 lines on our Framily, and we pay around $37.50 for each of our 4 lines with unlimited data. ($45 base price + $20 for unlimited - $20 for having 7+ lines - $7.50 employer discount). I don't think we will ever get a better deal than that. That's why we stay with Sprint (also, we don't really have any network issues anymore so we're fine with the network performance).

  6. I'm surprised there haven't been any updates here for many months. I've been considering making a donation, especially since I've been here quite a bit more lately.

My guess is Robert probably just hasn't had any free time to update the list. He has to go through all of the donations and add them together and organize it which I imagine can take up a lot of time.

  7. I'm still on Framily and $45 for unlimited. Don't need hotspot so I'm staying where I'm at for now.

Same. And when I DO need the hotsopt I just add a gig or two here and there. I don't really feel like getting my family to switch, because Sprint works in 98% of the situations we're in and I know I'm not going to be able to leave Sprint and come back at some point in the future and get as good of a deal as we have now, so Sprint is where I stay!

  8. I received some credits but nothing like that!!!!

    I traded my 2 iPhone 6's in and 1 iPhone 6+.

Was supposed to get good monthly credits of about $27 per month and nothing yet.

I did receive like $700 in total credits but that's it!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah to me it appears that they decided to not go through the trouble of crediting my father for the missed months of credits+adding the credit to our account every month, so they just gave us the total credits worth all at once. We traded in 2 iPhone 6 Plus's and 1 iPhone 6. I did the math and the full value of the credits over 24 months would come out to be around $2180, so a little less than that, but I'll take the credit none-the-less. I hope that you get yours sorted out!

  9. Just an update:

I checked our Sprint account today and noticed that we have been given a $2047.48 credit to our account. We got a 128 GB 7 and two 128 GB 7 Plus's, and paid $100 down for each of them, on the 24 month installments. It seems that we have been given a credit for the entire 24 months of credits that we were promised, just all at once instead of monthly. So, we have finally been given our bill credit! I just need to make sure that my Dad pays the right amount each month so that the credit will last until the phones have been paid off. My faith in Sprint has been restored! :)

  10. So, just an update. Went to the Sprint store with my father today. I walked in and the woman saw me and said "You still haven't gotten your credits yet?!" It's kind of bad that they know who I am and what issue I've been having lol, I've been there that many times now. She immediately called her manager, didn't get a hold of him (as per usual) and she called her assistant manager. Assistant manager then calls the manager, and then tells the store rep that the manager is currently working on it with Sprint on how to get us the credits. I believe they are trying to figure out a better way to give us the credits that we should have been getting all along, because right now the only option would have been to give us a bulk credit for all the missed credits, but anyways.

We weren't able to get in contact with the manager before, so this is progress. The assistant manager told the rep to tell us that she would call us by the end of the day with an update, so here's to hoping that this is fixed by the end of today.  :fingers:

  11. Updated to iOS 10.3 today, running smooth!!!!

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have the update queued in my settings app, but I'm hesitant to install it because of the recent release of the iOS 10.2 jailbreak. I'm not sure why I'm hesitating to update considering all of the recent jailbreaks have been semi-tethered and have nearly no support for for the new phones, but I digress. It must be the inner-child in me. Lol.

  12. What I'm starting to think is that this promotion was only supposed to be for iPhone 7 32 GB.  I thought when I ordered my phones the promo stated free iPhone 7 or $650 of credits towards any model (which is what T-Mobile also offered) but I don't see that anywhere on my searches for the promo.  I purchased 2 iPhone 7 Plus 128 GB models thinking the promo applied to them as well.

Either way Sprint has two of my phones and I have not had the credits show up on any bills automatically.  I've had to call with each bill and have a credit applied manually.  This past call the last rep I spoke to said it should show up next bill.  We will see.

I suggest going to the store and asking for your trade-in phones back and see their reaction.  Or else you need compensation from Sprint in some form.

Yeah I was under the impression that it was towards an iPhone 7 32 GB and if you wanted anything higher you just paid that difference. That is what I remember reading and that is what I was told at the store. If my father and I can't get anything done to get the monthly bill credits when we go to the store tomorrow then we're going to see if we can get the phones back (which isn't going to happen because there's no way they still have them lol) or we're going to see if we can at least get the trade in credit of what the phones are worth on trade in. Or something else. We'll see after tomorrow. I will post to update everyone after we get home from the store.

  13. I really appreciate the help, but again, I have found this one, and one of the steps is "sign up for any of Sprint's rate plans" again making it seem like they want you to change plans/sign up for a new one. Myself and many others remember seeing internal documents that didn't state this stipulation.

  14. I'm posting this here so that the most amount of people will see it, but if anyone has been frequenting the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus User Thread, then they will know what I'm talking about.

My question to any of our Sprint employees that frequent this site, I would like to know if there is a way for you guys to look in your portal (or whatever it is, I don't know a lot about the system so I apologize for that lol) and find the page that was sent out about the "iPhone 7 on us" promo, because me and another user on here have been getting told that the discounts being given were only eligible on leases, when it was clearly stated that they were available on both leases and installments. I would just like to see the internal memo that explained the promo.

I have searched through S4GRU, Google, Youtube, Sprint.com, Reddit, and I can't for the life of me find the flyer that advertised the promo. I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction. Thank you for any help!

  15. I am so frustrated with Sprint right now.  My 5th bill rolled out since I purchased my iPhone 7 Plus's via the trade up promotion back in Sept. and it still does not have the promised installment billing credits on it.  I have called every month since Oct. asking about the credit and every time I'm promised it will show up on the next bill.

At this point Sprint has two of my phones and the only credit they've given me for them is a $54 credit a rep applied to my account last month.

I just spent almost 3 hours being bounced around from department to department, foreign rep to foreign rep, with no one being able to help me out. The only American I spoke to started out helpful but then essentially told me that the promo was for leases only and that if I can't provide him proof it was for installment billing then he can't apply the credits.  He claims he Googled it and couldn't see anything related to installment billing credits.  I told him there are pictures of the promotion on Google search results but wouldn't budge.  I asked him where my traded in phones were, he said they were probably sold by now.

After being disconnected I called the cancelation department, another foreign rep, who claims his supervisor has agreed to apply the promo code and to trust him that it will show up next month.  He said he was going to apply $100 credit for this month's bill for all the trouble, which by the way doesn't make up for the 3 other full price payment's I've made.

I am at my wits end!

I did send a Facebook message to Sprint care and they claimed the last rep noted that the credit would be applied starting next billing cycle.

My biggest issue is that if I wasn't so diligent on calling, Sprint would have gotten two free phones. If the promotion was not legit, not once has anyone from Sprint contacted me via email nor phone as to why I sent them the two phones. All I've gotten is a notification that the warehouse received the phones in October. And they were not on lease or under contract.

I've basically been having the same problem. We STILL haven't gotten our trade in credits for our phones, and we did them back in SEPTEMBER! I've been having to deal with the reps in the store that we did our trade-ins at because apparently phone support can't help because the store's the one that handled the trade-ins. The store rep eventually contacted her manager (and then assistant manager after her manager wasn't responding). She emailed her assistant manager the last time I was in store and she CC'd me into the email so that I would get an update when she did (you can go a few posts back to see my full explanation of what happened). That was 12 days ago. I have school Monday thru Thursday from 1 PM to 10 PM and I'm not waking up early to go and deal with Sprint's crap lol, so I'm going to the store AGAIN on Friday, this time with my father (the account holder) so hopefully I should have more leverage. We have now made 5 payments on my father and sister's phones, and 4 payments on my phone, so we've now paid nearly $300 over the past few months that we shouldn't have had to pay.

The shitty part is that we can't even threaten to leave because of this, because if we left we would either have to pay off the devices or take the credit hit of not paying for them, which both suck. We're currently paying nearly $100 more per month than we should be, which is honestly ridiculous. I wouldn't have convinced my Dad to do this if I knew it was going to be such a hassle. I've been losing my mind over this for the past 3 months.

  16. Small update: I'm getting 4-5 hours use with Background Refresh permanently off. I've also noticed battery drain at night e.g. 13% left when I turn in and the phone is dead when I wake up.

I'm really starting to struggle. Today I stated work at 9am and by 2pm my phone had died.

Can other 6S users please post screenshots of their battery usage? This will give me more ammo when I go back to my local Apple store.

    Hey,

From the screen shots you posted, I see three different signals, TelKom LTE, TelKom 3G and MTN-SA 3G.  A couple of questions since I do not know the carriers in South Africa.

    1. Are you roaming if you are on one of the carriers?  Roaming has an affect on my battery since it is looking for native service.

    2. How much time are you on 3G versus LTE?  If I am on 3G with Sprint, my phone battery depletes much more quickly than on LTE.

Also, are you in low-signal areas too while at work? Your battery will die relatively quickly if you're in a low-signal area, along with if you are roaming, like Steve said.

    -Anthony

  17. Can we not use ambiguous and arbitrary "2G," "3G," etc.? We are big boys here at S4GRU. So, we can write GSM, W-CDMA, etc.

    AJ

I only used "2G" because that's what the article referred to it as. I will edit my post to make that more clear. AT&T is using "2G" in place of EDGE, correct?
