    You get about four hours of listening time before the ear phones need to be recharged. Then, the battery case they come with can provide them with up to 24 hours of additional listening time. 15 minutes of the ear phones in the charging case gets about two hours of listening time.

     

    I use my AirPods daily and typically only have to charge the case once every week or so.

  2. Quick question. I'm going to Canada (Vancouver) in a couple of days. I recently moved off of my parent's account and to my own, and am now on the Unlimited Freedom plan with Sprint Premium International experience. I see that I get included highspeed/4G LTE data in Canada with this service, and I was just wondering if anyone knew how much data I get? I will only be there for 4-5 days, so I probably won't need a lot, but I am just curious. Thanks!

  4. Quick question. I don't think I've seen this mentioned before, or I just don't remember, but I can't imagine that I'm the only one to think about it. Has Sprint considered using EVDO/eHRPD to do VoLTE hand-offs to 3G? I would imagine if it's not being done, there is some technical limiting factor about it. I've always understood VoLTE to be a form of VOIP, which I would think means that it can go over any data network, and since eHRPD and LTE can hand-off to one another (or I think it was one can hand off to one but not to the other), then I can't see why Sprint couldn't do this. Of course, my lack of knowledge in the subject of VoLTE doesn't help me, either. :)

    Really? My experience hasn't matched this. YMMV, of course, but I work in a dealership quick service (a place I consider to be a likely place for this to happen) and haven't had any issues with mine related to scratches. All I use is the Apple leather case. Had my X since the week after I came out.

    More than likely it shares the same/similar antennae design as the 8/8 plus. We would have to hear from Tim or AJ or someone else who is a little more knowledgeable on the subject than I am. :)

  7. On another note, I preordered a Space Grey 256 GB X from Sprint yesterday. It should ship by 11/14 according to them, so we shall see how that goes. I also just bought the black leather case from Apple, and a USB-C to Lightning cable plus the Apple 29 Watt USB-C wall charger, so that I can use that to quick charge the X, considering it supports this feature. Really looking forward to the device, and seeing if I win the raffle on Sunday to make my purchase slightly less expensive. :)

  8. Just to reiterate, the AT&T/T-Mobile iPhones have the Intel chip in them, which does NOT support CDMA. The Sprint/Verizon/Unlocked version contains a Qualcomm chip, which DOES support CDMA. The only way an AT&T/T-Mobile iPhone 7/7Plus/8/8 Plus/X would work on Sprint/Verizon is in an LTE only environment. In addition, Apple intentionally "gimps" the Qualcomm chip so that they perform comparably, because it is still better than the Intel chip, but the gap between the two is closing. Even though this is the case, the iPhones still perform comparably to other phones in their class (save for HPUE devices).

     

    Also, Intel is as much a powerhouse today as they ever have been. Nobody can beat their IPC (instructions per clock) performance on an x86 chip yet, but AMD is coming close with their Ryzen lineup. And by the way, Intel and AMD will almost undoubtedly NEVER merge or go into any kind of partnership in the near or somewhat distant future. They are full-on rivals and are competing with one another heavily now that AMD's Ryzen and Threadripper lineups are out. Intel has no reason to be bought or merged with, and AMD has just begun turning a profit for the first time in a long time. They are both doing fine, and will continue to do so, separately.

     

    Apple, on the other hand, is doing phenomenally in the SoC processor department. They actually can't get any more involved in processor development for their devices because they fully design their CPUs, and now GPUs, for their devices. I'm not sure how much more involved you could be. Their engineers have been working magic with the A-series processors. The "A11 Bionic" chip in the new 8/8 Plus/X has unmatched performance in the mobile phone sector, and even is rivaling Intel's own mobile Core i5 processors from only a couple of years ago in benchmarks. Apple will do just fine by themselves as well.

    The next day, I checked and Sprint still had stock (yay for me, worrisome for Sprint), so I logged back in through Chrome incognito mode and everything went smoothly.

    Give incognito mode a try. If not, call Sprint sales. 

    Incognito is working for me for Sprint now, but I'm still getting the same issue on Apple's website as before, not that I thought that would change. I would rather buy from apple because of the included in the monthly payment AppleCare, and also because my father pays for the Sprint account and I don't really want to have to pay him every month for just my phone payment since the payment would be attached to my line, for which he pays for.

     

    Does anyone know if there is a way to pay the installment payment separately from your monthly bill?

  10. Posting this here so that the most people (that can probably help) will be able to see it. I have tried preordering an iPhone X for the past two days, and every time I try to I am presented with an error. First I was trying on Apple's website, because I would like to do it through the iPhone Upgrade Program so that AppleCare+ is baked into the monthly cost, rather than paying 200 bucks up front. After putting in my phone number and account pin (so that Apple can "contact Sprint so that I don't have to"), I am greeted with a page that says that I am on an ineligible plan and need to go through either sprint.com/iphone or call *2 to order from Sprint. Okay, not what I want to do, but okay.

     

    I go on Sprint's website, and after sorting out an upgrade eligibility issue with my line, I go through the process of ordering a X and even select the full price option, and when I check out, I get a page saying that Sprint is unable to text any of our account's devices for two factor authentication, and that I need to go to a store to order, and I have gotten this error both yesterday and today. Not at all what I want to do, and I'm definitely not going to do that.

     

    So can anyone tell me what is going on, and why Apple/Sprint do not want my money (digitally)? Lol. I appreciate any help.

  11.  I keep getting this when trying to preorder one on the Apple Store app and website through the iPhone Upgrade Program. Really odd. We’re on Framily and own all of our devices. Really wanted to buy the phone from Apple so that AppleCare was baked into the monthly payment rather than buying through Sprint and having to pay 200 bucks up front for AppleCare at the Apple Store. I guess I will wait until they sell the sim-free models so that I don’t have to deal with the carrier’s odd rules.

    I know that every iPhone since the iPhone 5s/5c that are installed with iOS 10 or higher support the band. My concern is that in order to gain access, they have to be able to download a carrier update via either WiFi or Cellular. Not sure how easy it will be for residents to do that.

    As long as my family and I can stay on our Framily plan then I will remain with the newly combined company. If they try to push us onto TMO One then sadly we'll leave. I'm really not looking forward to this merger if it gets approved by the regulatory bodies.
