Especially since it's not his property. I'm sure Sprint doesn't appreciate this.

And if they find out they will gladly charge him for the device. And he will more than likely be 100% okay with paying the fee because he knew it going in.

The mobile site actually looks nicer. There's no doubt about that.

But my main gripe is that whenever you click on a topic with a new response. It now takes you to the first post of the first page. Before Tuesday change, clicking oonthe thread would take you to the first unread response so you could pick up where you left. You can also click on the time to go to the very last response, but then you'd miss an antire conversation.

I am definitely not getting used to that.

I didn't notice that change but now you've pointed it out I can see I'm going to be pretty annoyed.

There should be a blue dot to the left of the thread title when viewing the list of threads. Clicking that dot will take you to the first unread post.

  3. Excellent news! As of me waking up this afternoon, my Magic Box has officially initialized! It's connected to Band 41 with an RSRP of -110, and a CINR of 10.4. Where I used to get .83 Mbps down and .44 Mbps up on a -115 to -120 Band 26 signal, my house is now coated in a beautiful, clean Band 41 signal capable of at least 23.10 Mbps down and 1.83 Mbps up! Over a 2000% increase! Great!

I'm guessing whatever issue the Charlotte market was having, it is possibly resolved! Everyone who was having issues in the Charlotte market, go and check your MB and see if it's working now.

EDIT: Also forgot to mention that it appears to be broadcasting on UARFCN 39874, diifferent than Mr. Nuke's 39758 that his is broadcasting.

  4. The problem with that is that if your magic boxes don't connect to the macro network within the next couple of days it is highly probable you'll be asked to return them. At that point you may figure out what the issue preventing the NC boxes from activating is, but it still likely you'll be sending it back regardless.

Given there are a number of you in North Carolina with issues, if it were me, I'd be doing everything possible with Sprint to try and figure out what the issue with the macro network is. The odds of it resolving itself before Sprint send you an RMA kit and demands the box back are slim.

I've had mine for 8 days and it hasn't connected once and haven't heard anything from Sprint about returning it yet.

  5. I think I'll do that rather than call them or send it back right now. They sent me two for two locations in the same general area. I'll give it a few months to see how it works out. Thanks for the info!

You are in the same boat as Bill and I. Hopefully we can inform Sprint about this issue and get us some Magic Box love!

  6. The macro network not authorizing the unit to connect as its considered an always on UE with a specific SIM authentication method. Thus the Macro cell is rejecting the MB as an incompatible UE.

Gci is assigned at the factory.

Any way of contacting Sprint and letting them know about this in a specific market/area? My guess would be MB support, but just curious if you have any insight on this.

  7. Got a new MB the next freaking day!  Dang Sprint!  Really want peeps to have these. :D

But... Same issue.  Times Out at 20%.  FML.

    Edit:

The screen in now completely black, it appears unresponsive. AU-WiFi is broadcasting, I can connect but no internet.  Is this a sign that it is doing it's thing, or that it's more messed up than my last?

I've never seen the AU-WiFi SSID. My guess is it appears when setup fails for some reason so that a technician can connect to it and manually configure. It's likely not designed to provide Internet.

I just checked and mine is doing the same thing. I've been having the time-out at 20% issue since I received my MB a week ago. It is also broadcasting this AU-WiFi SSID.

  8. Parked in a parking lot one mile from a Sprint site with line of sight, with my Magic Box plugged into my inverter in my car (for power other than the battery), and with my phone sitting on 3-4 bars of band 25 (wouldn't latch onto band 41 for whatever reason, and can't tell what RSRP because Apple takes even more Field Test features away in iOS 11). Sat there for about 20 minutes, and got the exact same error as I was getting at home. "Initialization Timed Out". After bill875's experiment, and now mine, I'm beginning to think he is on to something when he says that he thinks this is an issue with our market, rather than our MB location/signal strength. It would be interesting to see if there is any insight on this problem.

  9. Getting the same here in Hickory, NC (Office) and Conover, NC (Home).  The Charlotte market must not be ready, despite the Sprint Executive Relations gentleman saying my business address was available for the MB in Hickory.  I was shocked that I got my MB the same week I contacted Sprint via the booster email to request it after being originally turned down.

I had the exact same thing happen. The gentleman emailed me on Tuesday saying it should be here in 6-7 days and the MB got here this afternoon. I've found that if I don't touch it, the MB will just restart the initialization process at 20% when it fails, so I'm just gonna let it sit forever until it works. Lol. Hopefully it will activate at some point.

  10. I've been trying to keep up with this thread as much as possible, and don't remember seeing it mentioned, but what should I do when I'm going through the initialization process and I get: "Error. Initialization process timed out. Press TRY AGAIN at new location or SHUTDOWN the device."? Does this mean the location doesn't work and I need to move it? I have gotten this error three times now after getting to 20% and sitting there for about 20 minutes or so. Have restarted the device and tried TRY AGAIN a couple of times.

  11. No it isn't. He doesn't know what 3G or 4G is. That's not bad price. Can that be activated on Sprint

Anything from the CDMA iPhone 4 and newer can be activated on Sprint. iPhone 4 (CDMA), iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 (and Plus), iPhone 6S (and Plus), iPhone 7 (and Plus), and iPhone SE. Any of those devices should work fine.
