  1. Robert, Thanks for this information as it helps me in my future decision making when my contract is up. Viewing the map right now I see that the progress in Houston is very slow. After 3 weeks we have only moved 2% in build out which is dissappointing when considering we are supposed to be done in just a few more months. What I can attest to and give Sprint credit for is that I do get LTE service pretty much all over Houston, however, it seems to have taken a thump since time has passed. The other thing that ticks me off is that inside coverage is very poor both at my home and at my job. I can get LTE for a short period but it still goes in and out which has a major drain effect on my battery. Nonetheless this is some very good information to know that we don't have much spectrum in my area.
  2. So is this poor type of LTE what we should come to expect in Houston?
  3. I must agree with the original poster here. I live in the Houston area also and LTE speeds have noticeably plummeted. During the first few months of launch i'd easily get 12mps up and 2mps down but now Its a good day in hell if I get 2.5mps up. Mind you that I am a realtor so I am all over Houston and the greater areas. Is this drop in speed due to more LTE phones or what? Also has buildout stopped in Houston? As I look at the network map it seems as if total LTE buildout in Houston has ceased since its shown 42% complete for a month now.
  4. Hello folks..Houston has been sitting at 24% for about 3 weeks now. Does anyone know when the map will be updated?
  5. I must admit..I get Sprint LTE just about everywhere I go in Houston now...Can't wait for more site updates..Even getting some building penetration as well.
  6. So I have a GS3 and I want to know why my phone behaves this way and should it behave this way. While at work I have a lackluster 3g connection and a slight LTE connection so my phone goes in and out of data service. To prevent this I switch the phone settings to CDMA only so that I can pick up and maintain at least a less than decent speed and connection. However, when I make this switch my phone goes into EDVO mode and will not pick up an EHRPD signal at all. Id prefer the EHRPD signal because that seems a little better. With that said is there a way that I can fix this and why does it do this? Very frustrating.
  7. Hey folks, While I do see the number of towers increasing in the Houston Area non of them are showing 3g. Does this mean that Sprint isn't working on the 3g portion of NV in Houston right now and just 4g? Also, it looks as if Houston and Dallas hasn't moved much from its orginal 15% position at launch. Is this because there are hundreds of towers in those two areas and if so how many towers are in the Houston market? Thanks,
  8. I apologize guys but I am getting very frustrated with Sprint's progress in markets it has already launched LTE. The Houston area has virtually no coverage of LTE or it has coverage but the signal is useless to our handsets. Take a look at the map Sprint has for the Houston area and it basically shows it covered like a blanket, however, the fact of the matter is that there is no connection. I come daily to check progress on the interactive map just to find a 1 percent upward tick in progress. Actually since the past month ive only seen a 2 percent ticket total. This is very frustrating too me especially when you notice an improvment in 3g for a short period of time as well. 2 weeks ago 3g showed great improvements all to fall right back down.
  9. Too me their maps are a flat out lie to consumers and they should be sued for it. LTE is still basically non-existent in every market you go.
  10. First they need to try to get 4g lte working for more than a few seconds before exploring any other initiatives.
  11. I agree..I am actually no seing eHRPD at all...Speeds were once moving up to 400kbps but now they are about half of that. Really sucks.
  12. It hasn't dropped to my phone yet. Maybe coming tomorrow, I hear the Galaxy Nexus is getting an update as well.
  13. Normally XDA gets their hands on updates a few days before the release..Wonder why it wasn't leaked for early adoption.
  14. Ok thanks, Im a donor as well but Robert and I got into it and i think he forgot to sign me back on as a donor..lol
  15. Slowly buy surely I can finally realize the network vision upgrades are working around my home area. Today I got what I consider very good 3g speeds at 350kpbs down and 125kbps up.. I know that still laughable but at those speeds I can basically do everyting I need to do on my phone in a pleasureable amount of time. I was also driving to the store today and I spotted a big ole tower right away from me and I was getting 4g withing a 3 mile radius but just so happen my home is located about a half mile away from the freakin tower ( just my luck)!!! I tested the signal and just at 103 db signal strenght of LTE is when the phone reverts back to 3g. My questions are: 1. Can a customer ROM fix the threshold issues and if so i'd be willing to donate for a fix. 2. Why hasn't the running list in Houston shown any percentage movement of LTE sights in the past 2 weeks? Thanks,
  16. I've been viewing the running list in the Houston area for the past couple of days and its stayed at 14%. My question is how long does it take to update when new towers are complete and does anyone know how many or much upgrades per day can Sprint accomplish. Furthermore based on reading one of the articles could it be that many in Houston could have good in home coverage of LTE with the 14% completed but can't connect because of the threshold issues?
  17. Im one with the problem of can't stay connected. I could have a strong LTE signal, move 10 yards and its gone. Im in Houston TX
  18. Why is Sprint expanding LTE in other cities and they haven't even gotten the launch day cities correct. I live in Houston and can't find a stable signal ANYWHERE..As soon as I get a signal it drops out!!! Sprint needs to focus on delivering a quality experience and not try to keep up with the big boys!!!! and the Sprint rep that was quoted in this article is a flat out LIE!!!! http://news.yahoo.com/sprint-flagship-evo-4g-lte-finally-gets-4g-144501796.html
  19. Im getting the same thing..keep getting kicked off the 4g network and can't even hope to get a signal inside my house..Im getting frustrated.
  20. Ok, Im in Houston and I was able to get LTE but it was very very brief. The way that it connected and lost signal within a 100 yard stretch reminded me of that horrible Wimax..Please say it ain't so that LTE will be just like WIMAX coverage.
