Well, LTE in Pahrump is official, not in testing like I thought. And when I'm in the center part of town it runs pretty good. I'll test it when I get into the grocery store.

Being unlocked, is there still the ability to add sprint zone and use WiFi calling? - thinking about getting one for mi madre.
I'm also pumped for that set of 3 WiFi disks...lots of dead spots in my new house.

Verizon exclusive will be sold unlocked.
Is it really an exclusive when all carriers (presumably) have access to it through the play store
- I wonder if verizon will put their logo on the phone

PCS H is useless though. Better off swapping with C5
I recall reading AJ's and lilotimz posts on PCS H block's problems. I wonder though if at some point in the future the gubment will decide to consolidate spectrum and offer Sprint/Dish the ability to include H block into b25.
I know it would require new hardware to accommodate the expansion, but since the only real barrier is the politically divvy'd up spectrum (as opposed to the actual physical frequency) - I'd say it would be possible to repack B25 if there was enough motivation.

I'm unsure how having more moving parts makes a device more simplistic than a device with less?

I wasn't really referring to the click home button vs the taptic™ home button. I guess it's just my preference to prefer a mechanical one.
I was wanting your thoughts as to Jony Ive's vision of how a slab of glass would be simplistic. Visually, yeah. But functionally I see it being more complicated.
Dedub summed up my thoughts of how apple would work around a home button-less iphone.

Also, it was used to further Jony Ive's ultimate goal of the iPhone: to be as simplistic as possible. If he had his way, the iPhone would be nothing more than a piece of glass.
-Anthony
To me, having a physical button is more simplistic than relying on software to navigate the phone. I find it comforting to have something on my phone that isn't going to be messed up by a firmware update and gets me out of the application with one click (now its a press on the iphone).
Getting rid of the home button would needlessly complicate the phone.

I don't understand the forcetouch home button. What was the reason for the change?
I'm not an iphone user but I always felt the clicky home button made the phone feel more quality - like a well made machine (or similar to a Leica - as Jobs said of the iphone 4)

Maybe here in Jacksonville we will see more band 41 when our football team actually win some games.

Well its been reported but the thing is that it seems like speeds all over in the Chicagoland area are dropping. I was just in La Grange and used to get 30-40 download now its 8-16. I know its very good but it seem like Sprint has just abandoned its upgrades. I know for a fact they are doing way less than they did 8-10 months ago, a personal friend is a wireless contractor (Crown Castle) that works on cell sites and said they havent had anything for Sprint in that timeframe.
Is it possible that you have reached a cap and now your service is de-prioritized or under some sort of optimization?

I only know of 1 B41 site in Jefferson County, WV. But it does have CA.

No, what I meant was that on my Verizon phone, I roamed onto US Cellular the whole time--Verizon dropped west of Elkins and was gone until Virginia.
- Trip
Ah, that makes sense. AT&T for that part of rural VA and WV is the standard. Shentel's expansion will be great for increased competition.

Google maps kept trying to take me off onto side roads, I guess because it hasn't been updated on the progress of the road yet. I did have us cellular in some spots but I never got Verizon roaming on my phone.

In Elkins today, took corridor H to get here off I81. No service for most of the way but there is very usable 3G in Elkins. It will be nice to see the progress shentel will make in the next couple years. I'm thinking 2 years to get it on par with AT&T.

That's totally pedantic. They are comparing preorder sales between this year and last. iPhone 7, 7+ to iPhone 6s, 6s+.
LOL. Must be slow news week if people are still thinking about this. I'm just pointing out that a multi-billion dollar corporation rarely releases press releases without some sort of editing or proofreading process.
So this means that Sprint must have purposefully released their statement without specifically stating as compared to iphone 6s,6s+ preorders. The, however slight, vagueness means one could read between the lines if they were so inclined.
That being said...I do believe it is as compared to iphone 6s preorders which is welcome news. But just like Professor Frink the press release makes me laugh, makes me think. https://vimeo.com/77464631

This is a silly discussion.

Of course it is
But by reading critically you can pick up on marketing spin...and people trying to mislead you.

The article didn't mention that they were comparing sales to the iphone 6. It just said iphone 7 sales compared to last year.
-
This is very encouraging news:
Sounds like Sprint is firing on all cylinders. That Unlimited Freedom plan is a real draw, along with the promotions associated for new and existing customers.
I know its semantic but Sprint is touting a 375% increase in sales of the iphone 7 compared to last year...iphone 7 wasn't available last year. So yeah...there will be a big uptick in sales kinda like how there will be a 100% increase in rain when there is a hurricane.

Hey but sprint demoed 3xca in Chicago and a couple of other places. Lol.

Are you trying to make fun of Sprint for doing this?

Question for those of you that have owned this device for quite sometime now. Where is the data activity indicator while your using LTE data? Did they do away with the upload and download arrows on the S7?
No more activity arrows or spinning sunflowers. Webpages just load without the distraction.

I agree with a lot of comments talking about the quick response on Samsung's part. From first being aware of an issue to recall in the span of 10-14 days?
I cant think of a multinational/global corporation acting this responsibly.

The new version of Apple Maps is I believe a complete re-write
It's gonna be hard for Apple to get over their initial debacle though. Especially when ppl compare bad software to Apple Maps..."It's Apple Maps bad" to quote a popular show

17 years. Powerhouse smartphones have only been around since 2011. Now companies are using the internet for everything and thats only been around on a wide scale for 3-4 years. Your point is not valid because the industry has changed drastically in the past 5 years of your 17.
