I thought this was a good article about sprint branding to the young ones...
I've not personally seen any of this advertising but I don't subscribe to influencers any of that type of marketing, has anyone else?

It seems people are confusing an airrave for magic box.
Magic box isn't a solution for low outdoor signal and speeds won't dramatically increase if the feeder signal is marginal (or if the source is 5x5 b25).
If service is poor outside, the box won't create fiber fed service, u need an airrave

If I recall correctly, you live within shentel coverage. This may be the reason why no one has contacted.Great for you. Makes me wonder what they see in your request that made them decide to ship one to you. My request was much earlier and while I did not get a rejection, I did not get any other explanation of the status.
I live within shentel's footprint too and also requested a magic box the second I read about it on this forum. I haven't received any communication from Sprint aside from the acknowledgement email.

Good speeds

Thats a great shentel speed test!
Does anyone know if there have been magic boxes approved for those living in shentel areas?

I did this for my father about a year ago (iPhone se) . As soon as I left thier house, he had problems with the phone and being an android guy myself... I couldn't troubleshoot or navigate the menus over the phone.I'm willing to buy a used iPhone but I'm a Android person so know nothing about iPhones.

He ended up taking the phone back and getting a Samsung J3, set it to easy mode, and he's fine. Plus I can help navigate menus with him if needed.
That was my experience.
Those new moto e4 phones are cheap with a smaller screen size than most Android phones today too.

Good on ya sprint! I'd like to see more twice the price advertisement... I think it's a really effective message. Like tmo did, sprint should really turn on the advertising jets

Looks like a future plan actually happened...
I'll be driving to visit my parents in Coos County next week too! Bad part is that we'll be making a 14 hr drive with a 2 and 6 year old and a dog. [emoji22][emoji21]
I'll report back with results, if I'm still alive/sane

The Reuters [actually this article was the one:
article mentioned buffett and malone buying some of masa's stake in sprint for up to $20 billion

Here comes the buffett...
I wonder if the Comcast /charter talks aren't proving to be as promising as hoped

Wow, that's a cool way to say thanks. Is there a catch? There doesnt seem to be anything in the fine printFor those that complain Sprint doesn't do enough for current subs,
This is a nice perk for non unlimited plan subs...

Likely means it's working while saving money on acquisition costs.Sprint has just extended its "1 Year of Free Service" Promotion, which was set to expire today, through July 30th.
https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/offers/free-unlimited.html?ECID=vanity:1yearfree
What do you all think this means?
I think the plan is genius... It's essentially the same as buying out a contract or paying customers to switch without actually having to spend any money.

Local FL paper had a nice write up/summary of the current sprint talks. Interesting to read that Charter took out bonds for $1.5 billion on Tuesday...

Obvious and true. Sprint didn't spend much of any Capex in 2016, and added 1 million+ customers. When you are an infustructor company, in a dynamic industry, you have to spend money on your core product.

When looking at the charts I don't see that the network performance decreased... It just flatlined.
Hopefully that means good things now as they are spending $$$ again.

Ha. Why are you getting so worked up Jonny-boy?
Spoken like an honest troll, I'd classify you as the persistent debate troll:
This type of troll loves a good argument. They can take a great, thoroughly researched and fact-based piece of content, and come at it from all opposing discussion angles to challenge its message. They believe they're right, and everyone else is wrong.

What I read, I think on the Verge write up is that Rubin said he wantes to put the phone on the best network for the future... That I think has made a lot of t-mobile fanbois cry out in terror/ or anger

The tidal x sprint commercial is not something I'd expect from Sprint... Feels more like a tmo spot, but it is refreshing

Why? eHRPD is EV-DO routed through the LTE core network. If the VoLTE call is essentially a data session (which is my current understanding) and the network has the ability to instruct your device to smoothly handoff from LTE to eHRPD (through an RRC release), why would the call drop? Data is data, right?
I read (a little) about rrc release from eNB to UE in context of a data session.
Is the eNB equipment fast enough to issue an RRC release with carrier balancing to not cause the call to fail? I know loading a web page or video can lag a little and it's not a big deal, but if that occurs on a voice call would it drop, or suffer decrease quality?

Looks like some gmos getting upgrades in lower Delaware .Route 1 has almost all lte except 1 tower gap. Hope they go hard finishing them
I remember multiple posts from you about the lack of LTE in lower DE. I'm glad its getting better for you.

His results in the Sprint store are perfectly fine and 100 vs 20 means very little on a mobile device.
At the end of the day, it really depends on places you visit.
I had an (on purpose) 1 day layover in Boston with my family a few weeks ago and hit all of the touristy areas I could. Harvard, Aquarium, Faneuil and the Sprint phones worked great.
I honestly didn't even think about my service because it worked everywhere I went.

Wow guys, more complaining than actual discussion. I guess misery loves company.
Maybe they could rebrand to: frustrated incorporated.
I think they might already have a theme song from the 90's.

I'm not exactly sure. I know shentel has quite of bit of fiber in the area, but so does at&t.Isn't the back haul their own?
It would be a head scratcher if shentel was directly feeding the towers and still restrict the bandwidth to their customers (via sprint).

I haven't received a call either. I'm in a b25/26 only neighborhood as b41 doesn't reach here.Still waiting for a call from Sprint, anyone else still waiting or got a call and got turned down?
I have a feeling I'm gonna be referred to an airrave 3 or nothing at all.

Stupid photo uploader is being retarted for me today for some reason. But just did a speedtest on B41 in Abbington Crossings behind Fashion Square Mall and got Ping of 74 Download of 10.95 and Upload of 8.69. Did one on B41 around 2 or 230 this morning and got Ping of 74 Download of 45.67 and Upload of 14.23.
That's interesting that you're getting high speeds. Since I've moved to shentel land even with B41 2xCA, 10x10 B25 I've never had speeds above 5 to 8 mb/s down.
I think the back haul just isn't scaled to the full potential of those technologies
