  1. On average, I receive 2 of these spam calls a day. They are very effing annoying.

I used to get a lot of spam calls on my cell line too. I stared entering the numbers into sprints auto block list for my phone line.

Seemed to work because I haven't been called in over a year by a robot or any telemarketers.

Sprint.com>my preferences>block voice>click on ur phone>select the radio button for block only phone numbers on this list>enter each phone number manually and they will be forever blocked on your line

Correct, I was more just wondering why they stopped roaming for southern maine and NH while the rest of the state had it for so long. USCC LTE has been down here for quite awhile so it isnt like it didnt exist for them to add originally. Guess we'll never know,. glad its here though! .

I'll be driving up to my parent's place in Jefferson, NH this summer. I hope the roaming LTE is usable. There was only 1x roaming last time I was there (Christmas 2016).

  3. Might be a stupid question but if SoftBank is considering selling Sprint, why is Sprint opening all of these new locations? We don't know if the Sprint brand will continue post M&A so shouldn't they just wait?

Makes me think that sprint considers itself as ready, willing, and able to be a stand alone entity without mergers or acquisition. Masa said so himself, he has also said open to anything.. So why impose limits?

  4. This is excellent news.  I have been across I-68 as well and I know how bad it is there right now.

I just wish they'd rolled the few Sprint-managed Southern Virginia market counties into it.  It's only 5 counties and the existing sites are nearly all running LTE already, they just need more sites.

Shentel's most recent call transcript was released and they do want to expand East and North with more acquisitions of Sprint territory! Yay!

    Excerpt:

    Q:

Okay. And last one for me, then you mentioned that this was -- area was a targeted first because it was nTelos' territory but it wasn't part of the affiliate or maybe even the wholesale agreement. That suggest that there's more in the wings. What's your appetite? How do you kind of pace it?

    A:

So, we're looking to have discussions with Sprint to expand our coverage really in both East and North primarily and I think that there is very good prospect, you will see some additional areas like this. As far as the size of them, the good news is that that's kind of in our control.

We can decide and have had this discussion with Sprint that we do have an appetite to continue to grow our footprint, but we want to do it in a way that we know we can manage it well.

  5. That could be been put into the network... Oh and so could that Tidal money... Sprint doesn't get the money thing, they just don't.

Saying something like that is short sighted... if you don't try to innovate then you'll be stuck in the same business model forever. In that same article AT&T said a similar service is working well for them - so it isn't money wasted...its just not the kind of return on investment Sprint needs at the moment.

What was a nuisance to Sprint Corporate will be an opportunity to Shentel.

I like that statement, right on! Interstate 68 is fast becoming the preferred option over the Penna Turnpike because its not a toll road. It's smart to try to cover that interstate fully even though it is mainly a drive through and not stop kind of area.

  7. Virginia is part of the Mid- even though it is south of the Mason Dixon line.

Yet when you drive into Virginia, except for Fairfax and parts of Prince William and Loudon counties, everybody tries their hardest to act southern. I swear the southern accents are fake and most of the streets are named after Confederate generals. It still seems all about who side they fought with during the civil war.

  8. Americans have benefited greatly from the FCC's decision to keep 4 Nationwide networks in the US of A. In fact, I'm not sure of a FCC policy decision that has enjoyed such a direct benefit to everyone living here.

I don't think the FCC will reverse its decision (even if Ajit Pai is in charge now) to let Sprint/T-Mobile merge because of how much investment/innovation/price reductions have occurred in the past 5 years.

I do think the FCC will work hard to ensure that there are 4 major players - in whatever form that may be.

  9. I tried getting them to give me the $160 for 4 lines deal with waived subsidy fees, we're customers for 18 years. The bill is almost $270 and new people get away with much less. It's ridiculous, they couldn't work something out and they're fine with me switching.

No carrier is going to knock $110 dollars/month off of your bill for loyalty purposes. Not gonna happen.
