  1. Hey guys,

I actually have been working on an app called SignalCheck that does this. Robert has been beta testing it for me over the past few months and gave me permission to promote it here on S4GRU.. I haven't had a chance to post about it here, it's funny that people have just started talking about it over the past few days! I started developing it last October, and released it to the public on Google Play a couple of weeks ago.

I started a thread about it here: http://s4gru.com/ind...hs-all-at-once/

I am aware of the new features in Android 4.2 and I'm currently working on adding them in.. specifically the identity of LTE cells.

I have been trying to educate myself as much as possible regarding cellular technologies so that this app is as technologically correct as possible. I see a mention of SNR above; it appears my app might be reporting values 10x too high as well. If someone could confirm this for me, the code changes would be easy for me to implement.

To keep things on-topic, if you have any questions about my app, reply in the other thread. I'd be more than happy to participate in the programming aspect of things in this thread.

    Thanks,

    -Mike

EDIT: I just uploaded a new version with the LTE SNR corrected, as well as LTE cell info for Android 4.2 users.. it will probably take an hour or so before it shows up on Google Play. I probably jumped the gun a bit on the LTE cell info since I do not have a 4.2 device to test it on, so hopefully one of you guys can let me know if it crashes or not!

It's crashing on 4.1.1, sent in a report

  2.

Except at my house... where they are too lazy to get out of the truck. Watch the truck zoom by the house on the cameras and the guy never stops since he assumes no one is home with no cars there, track the package and it says delivery attempt or whatever. Then I end up having to go an hour round trip to their office on the other side of town. No thanks. As long as they have the same lazy driver that throws packages at your door for my area, I'm not ordering from a company that ships FedEx.

    Or are they too scared?

  3. Sensorly is showing some very HOT LTE to the NW of Dulles airport on Old Ox Rd. Looks like some new LTE there.

I'll take a little drive sometime next weekend to map out the area to see how it is. Weird work schedule this week and last.

*Looks at AMD Anthlon X64 CPU's performance, price, TDP, low temperatures, good overclocking*

    XD

I'll guess I will still keep with my Intel I7-3770K which has a tdp of only 77 watts at stock speeds up to 3.9 ghz.

Which features? Certainly not 4x4 MIMO, and probably not even CA.

    Robert

Something that InterDigital has in there portfolio. RIM expanded there licenses to cover LTE-Advance with them.

  6. SERO was abused big time and still is today. It was really for Sprint Employees and there family members and it went way out of control. Oh by the way, My discount because I work with FedEx brings me no where what a SERO customer pays per month. My discount is 23%.

  7. How often is that an issue with the SIM simply being dirty and not bad? We see it fairly often in my S&R location with iPhone's coming in with "No SIM" errors. We take the card out, clean the contacts with some denatured alcohol, pop it back in, and voila! it works. I'm 99% certain that many retail reps don't bother to take the time to triage issues, and those in S&R locations are at an advantage in that regard with the techs. Even then though I know from experience in the IT side of businesses (Not just Sprint), many that work in IT have no place being there, the vast majority have the credentials and such, but many do not have any simple common sense. Others don't even have the credentials or the will to learn and are a lost cause.

You do know the difference between a SIM error which is what you are describing and a SIM failure don't ya?

  8. yte5u8a5.jpgYou guys in Rockville area are going to see a little purple along E. GUDE Dr. I added 52points on my way to FedEx station off of Calhoun. By the way if you guys and gals see this unit on the road around the beltway during pm hours it is I, mapping and hauling. I have to get paid don't I
