    The message changed again...

Status:Your order for the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge has been received. Orders placed before 10:00 AM CT on 3/1 will deliver in 2-5 business days. Orders placed after 10:00 AM CT on 3/1, will begin shipping 3/7. Keep an eye out for a shipping email with your tracking information. Thank you for your patience.

    ==================
I am reading that as saying:
Anyone ordering after this point doesn't get the "early" release service.

Thats what I am hoping for as well.
  2. I won't be that optimistic, it'd be more realistic to say by the weekend. The closer you are to Louisville, KY the faster you'll see delivery once they start to track.

I'm willing to bet that at least one of us here will get it by tomorrow.

Let me also add that there have been many times I have ordered a phone and it showed up the same exact day they decided to send out tracking info. So yeah, I am pretty sure some are already in transit to customers but they just haven't sent out shipping notifications as yet. Also, last year when I ordered my s6edge, I was in the US Virgin Islands at the time and still got it in less than 48 hours from the initial shipping date.

Has Sprint ever had a history of this?  I don't remember getting the GS4T or Photon early.

Well I am pretty certain that i got both my m9 and s6 edge before the actual release date last year, but I could be wrong. Other previous devices included the evo 3d, which I got early and the touch pro 2 which I got very early, so yeah it's happened quite a few times it just depends on the device.

It seems like warehouses will be stocked this week for the majority of the major carriers and I am sure they won't wait for any release dates especially since it's confirmed that t-mobile are already sending out devices. So if you pre ordered I wouldn't be surprised if you get your device before the 7th but only time will tell.

  4. Anyone have a guess on the release date? I was kinda holing out for the m10 buy my phone is not doing so well. I'm tempted to get the m9 for the time being.

Honestly if I had to update to an htc device and couldn't wait for the m10 I would go with the a9 over the m9 any day of the week. Not saying that the m9 is a bad device but I have spent enough time with both devices to say that the a9 is simply an overall better device even though it's a mid ranger.

  5. Neither did I.

I've noticed this as well. I have insurance for all my devices and for what seems like ages and don't recall the last time I ever need to put in a claim.

    Nice find.

hmmm. I was about to ask how does one get to do this $75 replacement plan. But if that is from 6 years ago, I'm left to wonder if it is still available.

    TS

I had my m9 replaced last summer because it decided to just die on me for no reason. Not only did they charge me $75, they also sent me a new nonrefurbished phone.

I didn't know about the $75, no insurance option. That's cool.

And wow, I thought I was bad with a phone every 2 yrs.

Yeah, i used to keep insurance on my phone faithfully every year for years then one day I realized that I hadn't used my insurance since the touch pro 1, so yeah I basically gave sprint hundreds of dollars over those years for nothing. So I would rather spend the 75 if I have too versus spending hundreds and not have too.
  7. Thinking about getting this phone for my wife in the future. I'm just a bit concerned about the liquid cooling aspect on this. Is this new having in a phone liquid cooled? Will it be prone to leakage from age or from the phone being dropped? What will happen if the liquid does leak out(overheat only? And how fast?)? If the liquid gets on the electronics, will it have effects on it?

Being from the automotive field, things like this happen. Just getting thoughts and learning about it from the electronic side of things.

    Thats what warranties are for.

  8. AFAIK, choosing the Galaxy Forever program entails me giving up my unlimited ED1500 plan for a lease plan, which I nor my line members want to do. Paying $50 for unlimited everything is too good to give up.

That's good to know. I assume you work for Sprint right now? If so, I have a question.

Even if I'm not out of my current 2-yr contract, can I join the Galaxy Forever program & get a new phone? And I get to keep my ed1500 plan?

I think i had one month left on my 2 yr contract but I still qualified for the lease option per line with the $10 credit per line for being on that same older plan. I could have waited until the contract was over and might have had the chance to just buy it at 199/299 upgrade pricing but sprint said they weren't sure if that will still be available at that time. But I am sure it will but I really wanted the s7 edge and so did my wife so I just sucked it up and leased it even though it will end up costing me more over a years time.
  9. There's a tracking number on my Gear VR.  It'll be here tomorrow.

No such luck on the phone yet.

    Tracked via http//www.sprint.com/myorder

They did NOT send an email at time of shipment like they did for the order receipt and acceptance.

It is not likely that I missed it to spam because all of the other emails came through fine.

I did notice that the two were worded slightly differently:

    • Samsung Galaxy S7 edge-All colors: Ships as early as 3/7

    • Samsung Gear VR Headset: Ships by 3/11

The phones will be held until the release date, and the Gear VR is under no such restriction.

No tracking on my vr's yet.

  10. Me and my significant other have both purchased HTC flagships every single year for the last 10 years and after the m9 debacle I don't see how I will be getting an m10. All htc had to do with the m7 is get the camera right, all htc had to do with the m8 is get the camera right all htc had to do with the m9 is make it look a little different and again get the camera right. So as of now I have no interest in HTC for the first time ever.

If you ask me it's like htc isn't even trying anymore,i don't know what else to say. Now I already pre ordered two s7e's and with the additional swag for pre-ordering with the addition of a larger battery and sd card support once again it would be tough to skip the s7 for the m10.

If some how htc manages to impress me I will probably get one but until then I won't be holding my breath.

  11. There's a video of the colors here:

    http://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-galaxy-s7-color-comparison-675857/

Gold makes me nervous.  It looks highly reflective and might be distracting, especially inside the Galaxy Gear VR if screen light bounces around (I've never used one before).

I really like the gold color which is what I have on the s6e, won't go for the same color again so I went with the silver s7e and got my wife the s7e in gold.

My online contract renewal and purchase at Sprint indicates that Sprint is shipping the Gear VR as part of the purchase but in a separate shipment.

A table is displayed showing ship dates and the Gear VR is displayed as a distinct device purchase.  It may be other carriers doing it the way you describe.

Table says phone ships by 3/7 and Gear VR ships by 3/11.

Says the exact same thing for me.

  12. I know this is for another thread but..  I guess it doesn't surprise me why carriers are forcing the lease agreements vs. contracts and subsides.  I didn't even know you had to pay out to keep the phone after!

Of course because at the end of the day lease agreements and installments payments are way more profitable.   But if you are on an older plan, you can still make out pretty well compared to being on a new plan.

  13. According to the lease agreement, if you lease the S7 edge and buy it at the end of the lease, you'll pay a total of $892.00 with the $160 payoff at the end, plus taxes. This means Sprint makes an extra $142.01 on the phone from you leasing to buy.

But if you are on an older plan, you get a $10 credit per month as long as you stay on that older plan which is $240 in credits over 24 months.  So with that difference you end up paying $622, again, if you are on one of the older plans

  14. $199 for regular 32GB. $299 for Edge 32GB.

I must be blind as hell because I couldn't find that info yesterday, thanks.

If you're still under contract & want to do an early upgrade, the fee is $250. Then $299.99 is the 2-yr price for the S7E.

I am good on that, the last couple of purchases has been at full retail so all my lines are eligible for upgrades.

  15. Ya although I still try to keep track of service the best I can I will admit that it's not as "creditable" for lack of a better word as someone who currently has the service.

3 months was just the time since I left. So I'm saying it could have improved more since then. I've noticed the same improvements around the city that you were seeing before I left. I'm gonna to have to activate a phone to see how it is cuz our difference in perception is interesting.
