  1. This phone charges lightning fast. Really impressed! Tested lte in the south bay and it was a bit spotty with B41

Battery life is goos but android os and android system are the two major sources of battery drainage.

The phone is super fast and so far haven't had any lags with TouchWiz or in general

  2. How's cfsb issues? Any? Acquiring band 41? Easy? Thanks. Sent from my SPH-P100 using Tapatalk 2

I was in the east Bay Area in the Pleseanton mall but no B41 in that area yet. Although since many sites there are only 4G accepted I couldn't connect to LTE often and it would kick me out right away.

Gonna make time to go to the Modesto area and see if I can connect to B41 right away without lte only mode

  3. Never had any problems with my S3 that's why I'm going with the S5. The camera on the S3 now is awful. Maybe all the drops, dirt, and water damage caused ruined it.

The option to add a bigger battery is a major major plus. On the standard battery on my S3, I would have to heavy charge my phone 2-3 times a day. Now I gotta charge it just once for like 45 mins and I don't gotta worry about it anymore.

When it comes to RF performance the S5 won't disappoint. Samsung has a good reputation in this area at least

  4. I got my s3 on launch day (June 22nd 12, I think) I didn't realize I was eligible for upgrade already. I thought I'd have to wait til June. So it's 22 months not 24? Woo-hoo can't wait. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk

It's 20 months. I got my S3 in July 2012 and I've been eligible since March. Other family members and friends have also been able to upgrade after 20 months

  5. its April 2014 any new idea on sprint LTE? the good news is on Kauai (Kekaha) finally got its first T-Mobile LTE in March hopefully will expand LTE in more area on Kauai. also AT&T coverage of LTE has expanded on Kauai but limited in signal quality but their 4G data has improved 2x. Verizon is still King here on Kauai

Good news is that on that island most of the towers if not all have been 3G accepted. The next step would for the fiber for 4G. The amount of time that it can take varies. It can take anywhere from days, weeks, or even months.

Lately progress has picked up in the Hawaii Market.

If you want exact information there are maps that pin point the location of each 3G accepted tower and other valuable information become a sponsor on this site :)

  6. The audio of the HTC M8 is pretty nice for showing off media or playing music at the beach/camp site/lake if you don't have a portable music sound dock.

I'm leaning towards the S5, I already pre ordered it but I can always cancel it and go with the M8. After playing with the S5 numerous times at Best Buy it's a huge improvement over the S3.

The only downside to the S5 is that availability of the 32GB/64GB model. On my 16 GB S3, I have not run out of space. I have a 64 GB mico sd card that saves all my videos, music, and photos. I don't download too many games on my phone because of screen size and how fast games drained my battery. I leave games for my ipad mini.

I can't wait to receive my S5. The camera is a real winner!

  7. Will speeds eventually go up again with one band, or this is pretty much it? Speaking of speeds, I walked 2 blocks down from where I work during lunch today. Did a speed test, and got 25.09 down/5.39 up. I walked another 2 blocks from that, did another speed test, and got 11.03 down/6.93 up. What's causing the differences?

Speeds won't go up with one band.

    Possibly signal strength.

  8. I somehow have an upgrade (even though I started a new line in November) that I could use to get a Nexus 5 on Amazon but because the school I go to is mostly historic buildings B41 wouldn't even stand a chance :td: . Oddly there is a TMob site on campus  :wall: and a Verizon tower that has nothing blocking the view but Sprint's is two blocks away and

A side note my mom's saying she wants to switch to T-mobile but I highly doubt that's going to happen anytime soon. (I would have used GMaps but I don't think you can show the elevated buildings like you can on the apps)

You have an upgrade because of "Easy Pay" from Sprint. You can get a new phone and trade in your old one. You pay it off each month.

T Mobile isn't any better tbh, I have a T Mobile sim card on my Nexus 5. T Mobile is better in the San Joaquin Valley since LTE is barely going live over here.

If you want a Nexus 5, hold off for a little bit longer since we haven't received the Spark update yet. But my GS5 should come soon anyways.

  9.

First off I meant to reply to this long ago but I was working my school's musical and the quarter just finished so now I'm on spring break so I actually have free time to just relax. Anyway my reply:

I was only suggesting that Sprint seems to be father behind in this market than the other carriers. Also, it kinda sucks that there's no other sites like S4GRU for the other carriers because it would be interesting to track their progress like we can with Sprint, but at the same time it makes this site really special because there's basically nothing like it.

Sorry if this is borderline rant but it's kinda frustrating to see almost no progress in my town since I've switched back from the death star in November. This might also because I have an iPhone which stubbornly won't connect to 800SMR unless there is no 3G. :td::wall: But last week I did connect to it outside of a classroom in the main building and I was so happy because I've only connected to it around 10 times since I've switched.

You could pick up a LG G2 for like $200 on craiglist and it already has the spark update so you can enjoy B41 in the many sites live in the east bay.
