  1. The call reliability score is based on making a call and attempting to hold the call throughout the testing cycle, not their app. They haven't fixed the issue yet, but it's pretty unfixable, there's technically no way to access the (CDMA) signal for calls while the application is connected to LTE on triband phones, as they're not connected to 1x at the same time.
  2. T-Mobile does have a lot better spacing in some parts of Chicago though. The University of Chicago campus and most of Hyde Park is an absolute deadzone for LTE (and 3G sometimes too, hopefully it will get better with optimized B26) but T-Mobile has smaller sites on campus and in the area.
  3. I do envy your hard work on those maps for the Central Valley though . dbsynergy does some great work, but theres not enough of us down here all the time to get that kind of data. What is the holdup in our markets? Grahh Sprint.
  4. There are many many sites permitted anywhere from 2 years ago to a few months ago that aren't moving either (at least in SF). East Bay progress is actually quite far along, but I'm not sure why there's been no change there in forever either (probably backhaul restraints).
  5. Well it's not really hard to be faster than a complete standstill.
  6. That's fair. I guess I'm just sad about being relagated to 3G speeds and having my streaming music skip while there's a whole empty carrier out there I'll feel a lot more thankful for at least having LTE when I get back to San Francisco, that's for sure...
  7. SignalCheck Pro. Or dial *#*#33284#*#* into your dialer to get to the debug screen. Then hit LTE Engineering.
  8. The network is very good about pushing me to B41 if it's in range, but it seems to rather let me lose LTE all together than to put me on B26. Even now I'm on a congested B25 (<2Mb/s) with a -105 -> -110 dBm signal and it's keeping me on B25. This is after the update and flashing back the .13 radio.
  9. They used LG G2s. There are some places in Chicago where one can get really good Spark coverage, but it is very spotty. I could see them on fringe B41 signal getting a maximum speedtest of 23.4. Also, Sensorly does tend to be q bit lower on speedtests than Ookla.
  10. If you don't see any specific band information (Sprint B26 or Sprint B41), you're still on Sprint B25. Check the debug menu just to be sure though!
  11. You can either install SignalCheck or type *#*#33824#*#* in the dialer and go to LTE Engineering.
  12. That's what I would have thought, but the problem only crops up when I'm connected to B26. I thought perhaps it was just an issue with A-GPS configuration on the new equipment, but If that's not possible then I'm stumped.
  13. I've still never seen the second carrier and B26 only seems to kick in east of the Dan Ryan if you pray a bit and offer a sacrifice to the sprint gods. Has anyone else been having problems with getting a consistent GPS lock when on B26? It seems like it's always way off.
  14. ....the other reason I wanted data was to Ingress in the park. Didn't quite work out though.
  15. The phone's not for the rides, it's for the lines! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  16. The wifi in my N5 was having problems, so I'm not sure to be honest. I think not though.
  17. I was just there two weekends ago, don't count on usable data inside the park, it's very fringe 3G, Unless they've turned on B26 in the couple weeks since I was last there (possible!), it's less than ideal.

  19. You can get the plan without going to Walmart by going to http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-plans and then activating the SIM online. You might have to buy a new SIM from the site though.
  20. Not necessarily, especially since you're in Chicago, a very mature market. More likely is that you're simply experiencing the increased fragility of the LTE airlink vs the 3G airlink. I'd also advise you to get signalcheck to see real signal levels (bars lie) and to become a sponsor to know for sure where the towers near you are! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  21. You got me excited about your South Side talk, but nothing here on the east side of 94. Looking forward to connecting to that cluster if I ever get out there!
  22. Perhaps they couldn't get the spinning spark logo past Google, so it's displaying another letter to indicate spark? Perhaps an S?
  23. Yep. The site is B41/B25 colocated. Standing right on top of it, to the west of the hospital complex, I could pick up B41 (a few weeks ago), but once I tried to walk back to campus I lost it. We'll see about the B25 coverage, but honestly I've been using a T-Mobile SIM card for a bit because they have a site on campus somewhere. Sprint's coverage in the area is pretty abysmal, I hope that this new LTE acceptance and/or B26 helps.
  24. Finally, the site that serves campus! I didn't see any new LTE on campus today, but I'll check around. That site is problematic, as the hospital complex directly to the east of it destroys the signal. B41 LTE barely goes 100 feet, we'll see if B25 is any better.
