  1. No but feel free to start one! We can just start with a simple Google spreadsheet, you can put a few GCI -> Site ID mappings there and we can expand from there. Add it to the Sponsor thread that dbsynergy runs, and we'll start contributing.
  2. I take it that he's in Alameda. Dat site spacing. Eugh.
  3. Yeah unfortunately, GCIs don't reliably map to Site IDs. In some markets there's a formula to get a site id from a GCI, but not here.
  4. Oh whoops. That was silly of me. In the Field Test menu, the relevant values are Cell Identity [GCI] (unique across all sites), and the Physical Cell Id [PCI] (unique within your market). You'll have to manually track which GCI + PCI map to a certain tower since you're on iOS :/
  5. There's no way to do it from the GCI alone. You have to do some detective work, get close to sites (~-70dm) and note down which GCI you're getting as a site note in SCP. Some markets with more members crowd source this and have extensive GCI to site mappings, but we don't really have the manpower out here.
  6. I didn't find any B26 in Oakland last night, but I did see that the DAS for the BART tunnels is on NID 231 now.
  7. I took the 5L down Market today (instead of muni metro) to see how widespread this is and I never dropped off NID 231 going down to Powell and all around the Union Sq. area. I'm also going into Oakland today for a bit, so I'll see what this LTE 800 business is all about if I can find any.
  8. Hmm, none of the upgrades I noted are on that site yet. Interesting. Sprint moving too quickly for their web team
  9. Good to know! Things have been moving very quickly very suddenly, last night must have been hell if you were a Sprint customer trying to do anything in SF. Looking forward to the future though, this is massive progress.
  10. Yep. I had no data or voice at home or in the store last night at 4th and King. It seemed...oddly reckless? It seems like they really took down every site around at once. I thought the traffic from Giants fans had broken something.
  11. Well testing is certainly better than the nothing we had before Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  12. On my morning commute on the T and it looks like we have a 3G cluster launch in parts of SOMA! All my normal sites on the ride are now broadcasting NID 231 and squaking correct location coordinates! Details on sites coming soon in sponsor section. EDIT: This is much bigger than I thought! Now I'm getting 1x800 in my office on Market! Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  13. Random acquisition. I did cycle airplane mode to get out of MetroPCS roaming in the market st. tunnel and I picked up B26. When I've picked it up in my apartment, it's been random, no airplane mode needed.
  14. At embarcadero and Folsom muni stop. Pretty sure it's coming from across the bay. I gotta find time to head over there tomorrow. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  15. If Sprint announces the completion of NV 1.0, we'll know that they're planning on never offering LTE in San Francisco or the Upper Central Valley
  16. If eCSFB were magically switched on right now, we'd have consistent coverage over part of the Financial District, part of the Tenderloin/Nob Hill, and Pac Heights. There are just so many sites that haven't had any equipment installed yet, a lot of the sites not accepted are still legacy builds. We've seen some progress recently, but there are so many sites out there that have had no work at all, and that's what's worrying.
  17. Tread carefully in the sponsor section
  18. Some of it is from reading Premier Sponsor level things, but there's a lot of information spread out on this forum in random places (that new LTE 800 rebranding thread in General Topics is a good place to start). I've been lurking for a while, I only started posting recently..there's a lot of information available. Definitely donate some and become a Sponsor! The NV complete maps are awesome.
  19. A perfect storm of NIMBYISM and incompetent contractors as far as we can tell. Oddly enough, permits were granted ages ago (as you can see in the Sponsor and Premier Sponsor maps for SF run by dbsynergy). In other messed up Samsung markets, people have seen the same pattern (Omaha, NE, I believe). No progress followed by a rapid GMO deployment and full build conversion. I think Sprint/Samsung are just finally whipping the contractors into gear. In many parts of the country, public safety radios operate in or near the SMR 800 spectrum that Sprint (formerly Nextel) holds. They've been experiencing interference for a while. Now they're all moving to Upper 700 spectrum so Sprint can deploy wideband LTE in the B26. In most parts of the country, all of the old spectrum holders have been moved off, but in NorCal there are still 1 or 2 speculators straggling. When they are kicked off, Sprint will be able to deploy B26 across Northern California.
  20. You just wait! in 5 years when Sprint is done with NV 1.0 in San Francisco, things are gonna be awesome! ...but seriously. Things have gotten a lot better (woo sunset and richmond!) and we know that even better things are possible (East Bay). SMR rebranding is almost complete in Northern California and there are 8T8R installations right now in parts of the East Bay and permits in SF. Things are absolute shit now, but give it a year and Sprint will be competitive in SF. Until then though, I have a nice T-Mobile SIM card paid off for the next 3 months until I go back to Chicago.
  21. I occasionally have 1x service in the subway sections of the L but it's often roaming. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  22. Judging by the sponsor maps, there are a few ares where there are huge gaps in coverage along I5. The rest of I5 looks ok, but most of the sites don't have the necessary backhaul for 4G yet. I5 is absolutely the worst covered interstate (of those covered by Sprint). It's like they forgot how to site space (101 is well covered).
  23. As far as I know, the second carrier installation is just an additional carrier card in in the base station. Still 1 RRU and panel. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  24. Oh yeah, a cluster launch across the market would be groundbreaking, but most sites outside of the sunset and richmond are still on legacy equipment, no work done. Edit: Okay, I may have understated it a bit, that was actually a much bigger update than I was expecting!
  25. Probably just 3G accepting the cluster. Exciting, but hardly groundbreaking. Typically 1 data speed upgrade is 3G and two data speed upgrades are LTE.
