I think it is accepted. Does accepted mean it is signed off? Then it will probably stay donut until signed off on. I had two near me pop up 2 months as donuts before even being accepted.
-
It says it is a 3g/4g accepted site on the spreadsheet. But not the main mapsIs it an accepted site?
-
is the downtown site still in donut mode?yea I was talking about a 4g signal with 5 bars. But I thought the more bars the better the speeds for 3g/4g. I know there are more things that factor Into speed but usually I get faster speeds with more bars and I know bars dont tell the true story of your signal
-
well not bars per say. But based on the engineering screen I can kinda convert it to aroumd what it would be equal to on barsIf it is the bars near your 3G or 4G indicator then those are your 1X voice/sms connection and have nothing to do with the LTE connection strength.
-
well it was the same for me when I had an equivalent of 5 bars. I think that is what he means haha5 bars? Please explain.
-
Backhaul is not working right for some reason I think. Or the downlink frequencies are having interferenceNo! I'm struggling to get 1mbps down outside with 5 bars....something is wrong
-
Notice any better coverage or sites?I apologize -87 inside and -77 outside but the -87 was right by the window
-
no its full 10x10 mhz. Ive seen speeds upto 50 in smith county on att speed test. I dont think 800mhz will help me much unless they build a closer site to me. The closest site to me is 4 miles away. And my house is like a cell reception graveyardI had access to AT&T's LTE this morning from a co-worker's phone and speeds were pretty good. Between 12-17mbps down with about 4 bars inside the building. I cant even pick up my LTE unless im by a window but I know 800mhz will solve that partially for building penetration. I was kinda expecting faster speeds from AT&T so this must be a 5×5 market for them in East Texas. My fastest speeds inside the building here at work was about 6mbps which is good enough for me. Wonder how many At&t sites are live
-
oh yeah I may need maybe 10 for me cause I do a lot of videos. but Id be happy with a solid 5-10.I have to stand by a window at work to pick up a 3g/4g signal but when I got 4g I was able to get 4mbps down which is fast enough for what I do on my phone at work which is Facebook, S4GRU and other web browsing
-
well at least it is live now. May not be so fast but live is at least a good signyea im at work and 4g just popped back up
-
It is back live again. Having backhaul issues cause it wouldnt pass 1 mbps down close to where I was hitting 30 downlol dammit
-
Do a speed test. just turned on tonight around 9?
She Is using it. I can try maybe in a day or two. We live in an area with a lot of older people...On hspa+ we got almost 12 down. So LTE will be over 50 I am sure

Let me know what the status is. Just wanted to inform the people of this forum
It should show up in about a week or two on the maps. It was turned on recently cause I saw my moms phone earleir today and yesterday with nothing. Very cool.

AT&T has launched LTE in Tyler/Longview area! Maybe they will make a network announcement soon on their website. Still speeds are a little faster on Verizon in East Tyler. Could be cause so many devices were connecting to the new LTE network.
Yep it must of just been turned on. I live in viewing distance of an ATT LTE tower, wish I still had An ATT device to try it haha

Really? Let me go check my moms device, and see if it gets lte

Hey as a heads up there was a huge gang shooting with 30+ shooters a few days ago in a park on vine. It is close to the site that was live. Just to make sure everyone is safe in their "adventures". Keep an eye out and try to stay in lit areas if at night. Be safe!
-
Maybe it is broken already
Knowing the luck everyone is having most likely. I honestly would not be suprised. So would you say ericsson's fault or sprint haha?
-
lol dammit
Yep. I am hoping the downtown site will go live to the public soon though. Maybe both sites will go live for good soon
-
I didn't pick up any either from downtown or Beckham or front street
I guess they shut it off from the general public :/ Guess it is the waiting game again
-
is the tower by the bakery downtown one of ours too. ...always get full bars right there but the lte only last for a second
just to let everyone know the site must be in donut mode cause I can not get sny lte anymore

For those running android download the terminal emulator. And run "ping 8.8.8.8" without quotes while in the live site and it will allow you to enter the donut sites. If someone has time try going as far north as possible and see if you can find the third donut site.
-
yeah I was just saying it starts out really slow on the donut site then all of a sudden its like ok ill give you some speed and is fine after that haha. That's going to vary way too much since some sites might have EVDO on legacy, some on network vision, some sites have multiple EVDO channels, etc., plus you have many other subscribers on EVDO, etc. The donut sites have personally messed with happened to be previous 3G acceptance sites, months later backhaul was brought in, and legacy was actually removed right around the 4g kinda sorta activation.
-
you said the speeds are fine on the sites right, the tyler donut site starts out worse than 3g on the download, then after a test or two it goes full speed.I didn't notice a difference in signal. Seemed kind of normal. Just know that when I stopped the ping it would drop you off the site a few seconds later. The site I was messing with has been in months and was finally accepted almost a week ago. I might go mess with it some more later since it is only a few minutes from my house.I will also post my findings when I call it in. Just waiting to hit the Sprint.com coverage maps so I have a leg to stand on when fighting with the CSR to open a ticket on the site.

Well I found a 4th donut site, no clue as to which or where the site is. But did map out some of north loop 323. The site on north tyler let me connect a little ways away, but not close to it. Kept the signal enough to map it north and verify the location. You can see the 3 sites(2 donuts) on sensorly now. The darkest purple shades are around where the site is.
