yep for sure. Ive noticed some weird stuff lately in tyler. Hope it is coming soon!yea thats what I figured lets wait and see
-
3g signal has been horrific the last 2 days. In the downtown area where I work I normally get 3 to 5 bars and since yesterday my bars have been none to 1 or 2 or roaming. Maybe its a sign of Lte coming
I noticed the same. I called and they said the data and voice was down in the area. Said it should be fixed by today. It seems to be what happens when they are working on the tower
-
I couldn't get a good look because I was driving by
Ah well if you pass by look near the middle of the site, and there is something laying on the ground with what looks to be wires running from it, kinda square shaped
-
ook no one was up there this morning when I passed by but I bet they're testing it
Did you see any weird equipment on the side that is facing the mall, like in the middle of the building?
-
Yeah they might have it where no one can pick it up? if that is possible haha. If you can check tomorrow, I will check tomorrow and see if I see anyone.
-
I drove by the site in front of the mall on Independence dr. this morning to see If I could catch some Lte slipping lol but came up empty.....I saw the panels, rrus and all. Lets see what happens this week
Oh and those panels have been up since I started service with sprint, back in mid june. But there are workers playing with wire near the panels

That is the site where I saw the weird equipment! The door has been open to the cabinets, and I think it was either they were running new cable or possibly clearwire lte install? the weird piece of equipment was connected to either a legacy panel, or wimax
-
Those speeds are more than decent for 3g. I get 1-1.2mbps on a good day but I can tell they're improving.
oh yeah for sure for sure! Haha I am seeing a weird piece of equipment connected to some panels on a site with workers. And cant tell what it is
-
Yea those are great for cdma 3g. Now if we could get those download and littlw bit better uploads all the time would be great!
Just shows that they are working on something in tyler lol.

Sometimes even during the day speeds can get up there. I usually see around 1-2.5 mbps down and around .5 up during the day. It is getting more steady now!Screenshot_2013-07-07-03-58-48.png some 3g improvements over in South Tyler. ...it was at night tho

Yea i saw that on here but is that the only site where you get it. Athens picked it up pretty much in the downtown/business area. Hopefully you can get it tyler overallSent from my N9100 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I only got it from the one tower in athens. But it covers almost all of the inside loop area in athens. Tyler has had a lot of work being done. And ive heard of a site possibly going live for a quick bit for test and going off.
-
that's about what ive seen. Great speeds! Ive seen a max of 31 down. But Tyler should go live by the mall real soon. They are working a lot on the chase building site aoot. And ive seen some weird devices and cablesJust left athens to test it out on my new boost mobile force lte. And WOW its crazy speeds. I live in tyler as well. So anybody with boost expect the same. I thought it would be throttled cause im on prepaid but seems like it's not.Sent from my N9100 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

awesome
people were working on the chaee building on independece right across from the mall. There were two men on too that just climbed up and looked at the equipment. Gonna scout it out and try for pictures
Edit: they are working inside a "fenced" off area on top. But they have a door open and keep walking in and out...sorry the picture keeps rotating left for some reason even after I fix it on the uploading source

awesome
Yeah I just wish we could have some sites go 4g live haha.
-
I didnt know Sudden Link was doing the backhaul. They're my cable provider. I wonder whats the hold up this week or whats stopping us from seeing LTE since we're 80% done like you said
oh yeah their fiber is a ton better than AT&t and they arent in competition with sprint so thry see it as a money maker for sure
-
if so please let me know and ill check it out!I believe there was a site in Tyler 4g accepted recently. I will check when I get back home.
-
most likely a different sector. My phone is always jumping between towers and can never pick one and keep with it.The sites in Athens were accepted some time ago. They are no longer testing. If you jumped from 7 to 28Mbps in the same exact location, then your device either changed sites or to a different sector at the same site.

I only know of the one tower live in athens? Its the one near the middle of the city. And ive seen some other things that show what equipment and what is live at sites and athens only had one. Unless the system was not updated.
-
oh yeah for sure! I couldnt get into engineering mode whike driving but I got varying speeds from the swme spot. One was around 7 and the ln jumped to 28 . It is still being tested out maybe. But it is fast loading pages. But the one thing I really wish they would do is add a tower out near me. We have a major highways and a new tollway connecting the interstate bringing more traffic thru the area. Hopefully they could get better coverage ndsr me. Im almost always going to connect to roaming since I live on thebedgebof sprints coverage and very near a verizon towerExactly. Edge of service with no load, 7Mbps sounds about right. The same spot with a well burdened sector would likely be 2-3Mbps.

was trying to map some Lte today around downtown where I work but only picked up 3g
Downtown tyler? I dont think tyler will see anything till possibly next week or the week after.
-
7-30Mbps is not inconsistent. LTE is very signal strength dependent. You likely were connected to the same tower with both speed tests. One with a stronger LTE signal and one with a weaker signal. Sprint advertises their LTE as 6-8Mbps. If you get 7 or better, then you're doing good.

Oh yeah I was definitely fine with those speeds, and was still pretty far from the tower. But was early in the morning with almost no load.

So many pieces and your local backhaul guy won't know them all. Especially if things are ready at the core. How do you know the sites are complete? It may look done from your perspective but it might be missing a few things which the integration crew is going to bring. It will all come... I still wait on sites in my launched market to get any work at all done to them. At least yours have RRUs flying.
Some of the people working on it all said the sites were complete. And Im thinking we have a fiber ring in east texas that will connect to a bigger finer run that conmects into the"core". And all of the markets that are announced are going to be hooked up to it and be running. The major east texas towns have seen some lte blip up. So we are just playing the waiting game. We should have it within the next week according to some people pretty high up on the chain
-
Unlikely. Sprint is activating every tower as soon as it's ready. Once everything is hooked up, the each tower will be activated. Unless all the towers are on the same fiber ring that isn't running yet, I doubt they will all fire up at once.
Well everything is complete on the towers. They may be in some ring or something idk. The cable co is the new backhaul. And know its it place because I talked to one who was running it. Guess they have to complete thebsites and then turn a few areas on at a time and fine tune them? Thats the last idea. Otherwise id be seeing LTE on some sites
-
Tyler Tx is 80% done. 5 more towers left until they are done. They are anticipated to be done by the end of the week, or by next week. Back-haul is being done by suddenlink, and is almost done to the leftover sites from what I was told by workers. I have seen at the site near me, two back-haul connections, one from AT&T (old t1's) and the new fiber from the cable co. pls new panels, and everything. Possibly waiting and going to light up all of the current towers at the same time?

yeah ive had a lot of voice and more data issued lately. And there are people eorking on a tower. The old panels have somr weird rectangular object attach to them right across from the mall
