Has anyone seen this phone yet?
I was just browsing and came up on this. It is quad core cdma, or gsm/hspa+ capable. No LTE from what I saw. What do yall think for a budget device? Think it will sell many?
-
Yeah but when you have every one trying to use their mobile data connections as a substitute for home internet, then you have serious issues. It only takes a few data hogs trying to cheap the system, to cause congestion. If they need Internet, they can buy the hot spots and pay for it the right way.Who poor? Some people houses or apts can't accept internet or maybe the person has other responsibilities other than that. I'm on T-Mobile now and DL at 20+ constantly even peak hours on guess what unlimited so your statement is flawed bro.

Well Stock wise ps4 has Less from what I have seen(i work at a major retail, high volume) Xbox has had almost 3x the stock than the ps4, and that means we sold 3x more xboxones, than ps4's. I think the xbox is doing pretty well! We will see how it does by the second quarter of 2014

This is going to be like the whole "4g" icon AT&T uses for 3g/hspa+. It just confuses everyone, and then everyone bashed AT&T for poor "4g" speeds. And it was because of misleading people. Can't blame every misinformed person, But yet the authors should know better before publishing an article

Thank you for the 5 minutes of "OMG, 'Murica da besties" and "America is a continent not a country" comments. Those people drive me bonkers
Yeah if they want to get technical America is a set of 2 continents called the Americas. Haha people are just misinformed. But most intelligent people know when just America is said we mean USA.

Looks like that is really channel 31, and their license expires next year.
The RF 51 is licensed by KCEB, which is related to the CBS 19(rf 18) here. Ends in 2014. Can't they renew when the license is up?

Oh wow Didnt even see that. Thanks for the correction

They also clear channel 51 for 600 MHz which, I feel like a broken record saying this, is going to be a mess.
I just think people are stuck with what they have for the time being. They need an overhaul to use unused spectrum. But I do have to say, Tmo does need low frequency spectrum. They need it bad.
-
Until channel 51 is gone they won't be able to use the A block in these areas:
They wont get ride of channel 51 in East Texas, I don't believe, our local NBC affiliate, owns the FOX 51 in Tyler,so They use it to have news on at more than morning midday, 5,6, and 10pm. Now they get a 9pm, and another slot to show news. So if it is like that in other markets than have fun Tmo

I almost got the chance to squeeze the pricing out of a best buy mobile employee, Darn. I am calling up at 10 and hope to find out the pricing. This would be a great oppurtunity for me to get a nexus 5, or LG g2, Thank goodness I am a Student still
-
Just as a curiosity, but if a large number of people joined and used the fcc app on top of the other popular speed test apps, isnt that going to cripple some markets even more, and aren't there more facyors than just those explained that need to be included for more accurate data? Such as signal, location, interference and such? Not ssying its a bad idea but a move in the right direction. Curious about factors that wont be seen causing skewed data
-
well up to. But it stays on more and connects to a weaker signal. Andv1x signal improved someI have noticed just on the official 4.3 release that my LTE has improved. Not by -10 dbm but I'd say 3 to 5. I just can't stand the huge 4GLTE symbol.

I just installed the sacs MFA rom on my s4. Huge improvement in LTE almost a 10dbm gain in some spots. Checked versus stock my and my mdl, and huge difference in fringe areas

If I'm correct it goes to the Nexus or galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition(when it's out). For functionality the note 10.1 is a great tablet for school, work, and even everyday useSorry if this has already been covered somewhere but I'm looking to buy and android tablet for a friend of mine and I was wondering if I could get some suggestions on which one to get. I'm and iOS guy so I'm really not that familiar with them.

well I will just get one on amazon. I am gonna be getting the nexus 5 in a month or sothats why its a Slickdeal - you snooze, you lose! I bet mine will cancel anyway.. If it doesn't, anyone want a free battery?
-
Ditto on the no seeing the battery for sale anymore
-
Works so far on my gs4 , a little laggy when opening up the app drawer and settings but it works fine

Do you think this phone would be worth jumping from the galaxy s4 too? Seems like a good phone, just have bad experience with bad RF performance with the Galaxy Nexus and nexus 4
-
yeah it has dead spots because of lacking 5 towers still. Once thet get 800lte we will be better coveredcan't really think of any places that I go in tyler w/o lte. ...seems to be pretty well covered
-
See AJ's post just a couple up - and down.
Whoops Must have not seen that post.
No. 10-20 MHz TDD support.
AJ
OK that is what my thinking was. Wouldn't 8x8 MiMo be better for say hotspots, or for cars that have built in hotspot functionality?
-
No.
So they only support 20MHZ from the first round triband devices?
-
Yes.
But are the first tri-band phones going to support more the 1GIG specs?

I live in an area that has great Verizon coverage according to their maps, also great AT&T coverage.
But of course the maps are both wrong with these carriers. T-Mobile's is a little ambitious, but more realistic.
Sprint's is more realistic, especially since they updated their maps a few months ago removing many square miles of coverage here in WA.
People do pay a premium for Verizon cell service, for a better coverage area.
I can say all of them over estimate their coverage. I notice once sprint updated the maps with LTE in my area, the coverage grew, but They can not accurately tell where a dead spot is without going to most locations. But they widened the coverage a few miles out, which I wonder if they are saying that will be what LTE will look like after everything is done, including 800LTE?

Hey guys, I have been watching videos of sprints LTE speeds for about a year now. I don't have an LTE capable device, so I am just curious. What are some of your fastest speeds on LTE?
I get anywherefrom 10-38 daily, depending on how far I am away. Usually around 105-120 it is equivalent to 3g, sometimes slower, but that is extreme edge cell signal.
Tower going out of service?

If it is not on the NV list, then it is most likely Legacy still, or yet to be confirmed NV upgraded. Try taking some pictures, of the site, and sprint equipment. Here is a great place to start to learn about what to look for : http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/2902-how-to-spot-sprint-antennas-and-rrus-ericsson-style/
Also Make sure to edit the site ID. Those can only be in sponsor areas. Just a heads up, so you don't get in trouble. But you are new so I am sure it was a mistake
