I use SMS backup. It backs up all your text messages and recent calls to your Google account. Been using it since my og EVO. It even backs up mms but it won't restore mms back to the phone. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk

Just went to sprint to see if they would exchange my evo for a gs3. Apparently the gs3 is not on the exchange list. Only a few low to mid range phones are including the viper and the Samsung conquer. Galaxy nexus was on there, probably the best phone on that list. Apparently they only exchange it for a lesser value phone, not an equal or lesser value phone. What's funny is I'm at whole foods at the quarry. I walked across the parking lot to Sprint where I show the guy my speed test. He's like "who knows, its the EVO lol", does the same speed test and gets 7 down. Arrr my luck lol. Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2

I understand that, but I'm in areas that I consistently got 6-12 down for weeks now. And were talking about my EVO, the phone thats not really good at holding onto weak signals Its been happening more frequently lately but in only one area has a Sprint rep confirmed a network problem. I don't think they ever mention the EVO in their update announcements. But if the past holds true the EVO will probably get the same update a couple of weeks after the one series does.

I read that too. As long as Sprint knows there's a problem and says they are working on it, ill wait for a radio update. If they push out a fix and it still doesn't work right I'm gonna make Sprint rake this phone back. If I put this phone in LTE only mode I get usable LTE all over San Antonio. If not then it feels like its still launch day because I hardly ever pick it up.

What makes you believe they are in denial? I am willing to wait for another radio update but if they think there is no problem I will bother them until they give me a different device. Sent from my Nexus 7

If you were to put the EVO in LTE only mode and drove away from an LTE site while also testing an SGS3 (or any other LTE phone) would they both lose the signal around the same time? That might make it more clear if the problem is hardware or software.

I never need to restart the phone or toggle airplane mode to get it to reconnect. Simply turning the screen back on does the trick. Its behaves like my og ego when you turned off "always on mobile data".
