  1. I can confirm this. I got mine about 3 weeks ago. First lady told me I had to have 4 phone for her to do anything (I only have the Connect 2 at this time). Then was sent to retention. They gave me the options for buying as mention above, and had the monthly fees waived.
  2. I'd be interested in seeing a snapshot of the 3g/voice data coverage of now and then being a able to compare coverage improvement when 800 goes online.
  3. Again let me give you a heads up, that it took 10 days for me to get my landline number from Verizon ported over to Sprint. But I have to say that the quality on sound is much better than my land line. I've only had it for 2 days and very happy with it so far.
  4. I don't see why they couldn't do a temp number either. But I just wasn't thinking. I thought about the straight talk one also, But I plan to get cell phones in about 6 mos. and kinda wanted to test and see how signal will work here, or if I needed a airave. But it doesn't matter, Monday morning the thing should be working.
  5. The way the told me is once my land line stops working then then my Connect will be activated. Was told to leave the Connect off until my land line is cut off or it might cause some type of delay. So really I'm not without a phone for 10 days. I also know the person I was dealing with at the store was a new person nor did I think about asking for a temporary number. But he did tell me if I used a different number, and then wanted to use my home number, I would have to bring back the unit to be reprogrammed. I don't think that was right, but I went with the flow of things. Just keep in mind they told me 2-3 day for port, but I think in reality it's about 10 days for a land line. But your landline will work until the port occurs.
  6. Nope they didn't give me a Temp. number option. I thought about getting the VoIP service using the airave, but figure if the cable goes out (which happens more than I like sometimes) then I would have no home phone. At least with the Connect 2 I should have some type of service.
  7. I just got one, but will not be able to use it until Monday, due to taking so long to port a land line number. I would anticipate about a 10 day wait for them to port a land line number. I know I don't have the best signal at my house, but I have a choice of getting a airave if needed. I might get one just so I have great signal at the house seeing how I plan to get all Sprint phones in about 6 mos.

    Hello from Va.

Hello from Spotsylvania Va. Even though I'm not on Sprint, but on Ntelos at this time. I do plan to switch and go to Sprint in about 6 mos. I've been following the NV for the past couple of years. I do have one question. Do the tower need to be upgraded to have 800 voice or can the 800 be active on the non-NV tower?
