I'm back there right now. I'm not even in eHRPD and I have to keep toggling airplane mode to use data. I don't see anyone up on that high rise right now either.

Any activities on that high rise on Genesee/Balboa? Hoping you would had seen a crane or contractors on the roof.
Didn't look, sorry. Maybe next time I'm over there.
-
I picked up LTE outside near Balboa and Genesee for a bit today at lunch, so there's hope there yet.
-
I noticed over on the Sprint boards some are getting a error with the One M7 about unable to establish a wireless data connection. LTE: EMM-65535. Has anyone see this??
I get that occasionally on my regular One, actually.

9 Antennas?
Why would they need 9 antennae when 8T8R and NV 1.0 requires 6.. hmm
Band 41?
-
I read this article a couple of days ago in the North Coast News, regarding Sprint adding 9 antennas in La Costa, using a SDG&E tower.
https://thecoastnews.com/2014/04/cell-service-antennas-planned-for-neighborhood/
People are silly:
“No one can say that it’s safe. Obviously there’s not scientific proof that says it’s not safe, but there’s no scientific proof that it is. It’s an experiment, and I don’t think our families should be guinea pigs,” said Karen Latiano, who lives near the planned site.

Download the entire internet?
It does fit in a box.

Speeds won't go up with one band.
Possibly signal strength.
If it's not backhaul limited Sprint could add another LTE carrier at some point in the future. No telling if or when that'd happen though.
-
I also found a few random forum discussions that seem to agree there's no intent to upgrade the legacy network to IPv6 but the LTE network of course will be.
Would IPv6 work as long as I'm on an NV tower (even if not LTE)? Or is EVDO/CDMA IPv4 only by design?

Wow. Looks like the city may keep Sprint after all. What does this mean: "Sprint has agreed to maintain the $100,000 sponsorship level" ?

I'm going to guess politics.

Wonder if we will get Spark this year. Spark speeds looks promising.
Spark requires 800, no? If so, we definitely won't get it this year (or at the very least, won't be announced by Sprint).

Found wifi finally here, so I applied the update. Sense 5.5 is interesting. Also this connection optimizer thing. Any idea if that's worthwhile?
-
Updated my one to 4.4.2. I must say I am quite happy with the subtle changes. Fixes the few complaints I had that led me to the Nexus 5. If only the one was triband...may be my next device will be the next HTC if they continue their current course of business.
I'm kinda glad it's not triband because then simultaneous LTE and CDMA would stop working.
-
Looks like its live now, so check again.
Cool. I'll check when I get back from Australia.
-
I don't have my One with me at the moment, but you should be able to go in and check for updates and the kitkat with sense5.5 update suppose to be available. Can anyone else verify?
"No updates available" when I tried.

Anyone noticing 4G dropouts all around the county?
We've have solid 4G at home for about two months, but it went away Friday and sent my wife's GS3 into a reboot cycle. My GNex and ZING handled it much more gracefully. I ended up driving over the hill to a different tower area so that I could update her profile and turn off LTE.
Here's Sprint's response today to the growing report thread in the Sprint COmmunities.
My HTC One is still doing the "SIM card not found" thing, so I figured it was that.
-
That sounds like a problem with your phone.
Personally, I would take your phone to a service center.
Sent from my RCT6378W2
It resolves itself for at least a couple of days when I reboot it, so I wouldn't say it's a hardware issue just yet.
-
Just got this text:
SprintFreeMsg: Over the next month, the new network will be largely completed in your area. See new phone offer at http://sprint.us/upgrade1 Reply S to stop.
Got it yesterday too. Hopefully there's going to be a huge batch of 3G acceptances soon though, because there's still large chunks that seemingly haven't been worked on.
-
The SIM card error is still happening for me too
-
Should have waited to see if they'd fix it. Did a hard reset and that fixed the issue for me, but had to spend a couple of hours setting my phone back up again.
-
Who is going to tell you in a non-sponsor thread?
Hey now. Maybe someone noticed construction or something.
-
Where's the new 3G site from today's acceptance report?

http://www.800ta.org/content/resources/Reconfiguration_Timetable.pdf
800MHz transition doc from the FCC and PSHSB.
*Licensees operating high-density cellular systems, such as Sprint Corporation
(“Sprint”),10 and licensees that have elected to relocate to the Enhanced SpecializedMobile Radio (“ESMR”) Band will relocate to the ESMR Band at 817-824/862-869MHz.11"So this means that there will be 800MHz LTE along the border.
That hasn't been in doubt, just the timeline. Looks like 2017 is a reasonable estimate for that though.
-
Looks like they're concentrating more on 3G updates these past few updates.

Sprint has pretty much accepted 3G/4G on almost all of the "easy" sites at this point. SD just has a lot of "hard" sites.
