Who changed it to "BBW"? Is it now the "Big Beautiful Women" thread?
AJ
BBW is the only reason I clicked the thread

Forgive me I am still new to identifying towers and what not but there are 2 towers across the street from each other and I snapped some pics hoping someone might be able to help identify..This first pic is on a private residence so it's the closest I could get so I apologize for the quality ... The second pic is the tower across from the first one and it's located next to the highway patrol so I couldn't get right next to it either...would appreciate if some could identify if there is anything new going on...btw these are in independence

I don't see any Sprint NV activity on either tower...

Since it seems like activity has all but stopped in Cincy, I'm wondering whether it helps or hurts that we are a wimax area. On one hand, it means those airwaves are already in use here, but on the other hand, I assume spark needs all new equipt, so it makes no difference.
Also wondering what ever came of the big Cincy news that was hinted at months ago in the "super double premium" section of s4gru. Seems like everything got quieter immediately after that.
Truly ready to pick up a G2 or an N5, but then I remember that it just plain will not work downtown due to nonexistent 3g, and a 3 yr old rooted GS2 is the best I can get for the money I'm paying sprint now.
When Sprint adds new TD-LTE equipment to a Wimax market, the tower will broadcast both LTE and Wimax

Just wondering, how do you update PRL on iphone?
They usually get pushed to the phone, but you can dial ##873283# in the dialer and have the phone look for an updated PRL if one exist.

Sorry to be off topic, but I wish Sensorly would get it going with iOS devices and work like Rootmetrics does, so all of the Android and iOS data was in one spot...
I'll have to try Root Metrics next time im in a 4g area and see how it does.

I know effects people different, but 2 of my friends and me couldn't hardly tell the background and icons were moving. I think it is just a waste, so I actually turned it off earlier today when reading about possible battery drain.

I'm obviously not the developer, but i don't think anything in that link gives the information that is needed to make it possible to map with the iPhone.
Plus, this Core Telephony Framework was released with iOS4...it's nothing new.

Would love to and we would the minute they did but I just looked at the pre-release iOS 7 APIs and I don't see anything to that effect. Has anyone found anything in their docs ?
I take it nothing has been found?

Once in field test screen, you hold down the power button until the slider comes up to power off the phone. Then you hold down the home button for 5-10 secs, the screen will flash. Release the home button immediately and press it one more time to exit out of field test mode.
If it goes back to the dots instead of the dbm number, turn your phone off and back on again. Re-do the same procedure above and it should work.
Only problem I have had is it only last for say 30 mins, then it automatically goes go to the dots/bars for reception with iOS7?? In iOS6, it would always stay in dbm format.

In regards to Dayton, there was a post on the Sprint Community board that read "I have been getting 4g lte in the 45417 zip. So far that's the only zip I've gotten it in".
Looks like Sprints keeping to it's "let's put towers up along the interstates" policy. I wonder when there will be LTE south of Dayton, like in the Kettering, Centerville, Mimaisburg areas?
Ya south of Dayton would be nice. There are all kinds of towers upgraded around the Dayton mall and along 675, but no LTE love yet.

Here is mine...a picture of Nelson Bridge from my trip to a little place called The Master's in Augusta, Georgia.

What Clearwire deployed in Dayton is called Expedience. Expedience uses T1 lines for backhaul in most instances, and the Expedience equipment is not readily upgradable to LTE. So it will involve a complete replacement of everything at the site to upgrade to LTE.
I do believe now that SoftBank is in charge that Expedience sites will get upgraded to TD-LTE. It will likely be toward the end of the TD-LTE upgrade as these sites will need to have high speed backhaul brought in place before then. And the amount of work involved is more significant, and will be slower.
I don't have any specific info about the future of Expedience sites. These are just my opinions of what I think will occur.
Robert
Ok thanks for the info Robert.

If my town (Dayton, OH) has never had Wimax, will it even receive TD-LTE covereage in the future? I know Clear has towers in the area, but since we never got Wimax, I just wonder if we would even get TD-LTE...

Thanks for everyone's kind words.
We just implemented a slight improvement to the LTE maps : they're drawn down to the pixel now whereas they used to be drawn to 2-pixels. It's subtle but once you notice it looks much better. Not all parts of the maps were updated, only the main markets because there's too much to redraw. But if you collect data and look at the map a couple hours later, you will see it. We redrew about 16 millions map parts yesterday for that.
Also, I changed the CDN config : LTE tiles are now cached only 2h max with a 30minute expiry time for the browser so even if you visit a map area in the morning, you should see the updates at noon.
Is there any new info with iPhones being able to track Sensorly data with iOS7 and the new API they created, Core Telephone Framework (CoreTelephony.framework)?

This has to be the reason
If anyone of the handset makers had a heads up on what was going on - it was Samsung - Sprint is using a lot of Samsung for the NV upgrade - yet the Galaxy S4 doesn't even have 800 LTE support. Sprint's leaked plans became known in 2011 for 800 LTE. These rumors manifest true in 2012. In mid 2013 Sprint's LTE 800 was cleared by the FCC - still 2 months before anyone knew if Clearwire would even be in Sprint's or Dish's hands.
By this argument Apple didn't even know who would have Clearwires spectrum until barely over 2 months ago.
YEP ! This is the reason ! At the time the deal was being finalized - the iPhone 5s was already in beta testing - virtually a ready product. There was actually almost no way the 5s could realistically have 2500 LTE - at least for the sake of Sprint. The Sprint buyout didn't even happen until July 10th ! Only 2 months ago. Wow.. seems longer.. but maybe most of that was the negotiation.
Apple had no way to know !
Ya, rumors have it the 5s prototypes were first created in Dec. 2012....
I dunno, just a thought. Maybe Robert or AJ could enlighten us some more

Does anyone think the reason the iPhone didn't get tri-band this time around because of all of the SoftBank/Sprint vs. DISH vs. Clearwire debacle to occurred in the beginning of the summer?
Was 2500/2600 always a part of Sprint's plans for network vision in the beginning?

I went from OG Evo to iPhone 5 and it didn't bother me, but they are pretty clost to screen size (4.3" to 4"). Going from a GS3 to iPhone is a different story. My bro-in-law has a GS3 and we were trying to pull up the same video a few weeks back and it was a lot easier for 2 people to watch a video on his phone vs. mine.

nope signal seems to get stronger towards stanley ave.. must be tower just south of leo st before downtown dayton..
hmmm after looking a bit it looks like the upgrade tower is at keowee st and troy st area. just got info from sprint that one tower around me is 4g running and 2 others are getting vision as we speak.
The tower you are connecting to is the one at Wagner ford and 75

I agree, 32gb minimum. I have a 16 gb which only nets you like 13.5 gb of storage after the OS and all the pre-loaded stuff is on the phone. Then with numerous apps, pictures, videos, etc, the data gets used up quickly!
As far as jumping ship, both operating systems are great. I had a HTC Hero and Original EVO 4G. I prefer iOS to Android. iOS is def. more stable, easy to use and comes with a lot things intergrated that work together great. Syncing your phone with itunes is a breeze. I can only remember having to reset this phone once vs. a lot of battery pulls with my Evo.
One thing I thought Apple lacked vs. Android that I missed was the quick access toggle buttons for BT, GPS, etc, but that is now being address in iOS 7.
One grip I do have is having to use default Apple apps, like clicking a link to an address and it opens it up in Apple Maps instead of Google Maps, which I prefer to use.

Apple's not gonna use qualcomm snapdragon. Only their modems.
They used a Qualcomm LTE chip in the iPhone 5, so I'm sure they will be using one in the 5S as well. With the rumors of China Mobile coming on board to start selling iPhones, I'm sure the phone will support tri-band for Sprint with this new chip mention in the OP.

I am here in Dayton and 4G LTE just showed up on my SGS3 this morning. So I guess they are starting to turn on towers here in Dayton.

Yeah, I picked it up from main street on 75 all the way to the Benchwood - Wise / Miller Ln. exit. My best speed test was 14.91 d/l and 5.00 u/l. Bout freaking time Dayton got some love.

I wonder what this is all about....
Euteneuer also teased different pricing plans or features to come in the fourth quarter that would "demonstrate our creativeness and refocus our sales."
