  1. I have found 8 permits for Verizon in the past month searching for Sprint permits and we have had Verizon LTE service for 2-3 years.  So, maybe they are starting here too.  The description doesn't mention any RRU's, just remove and replace antennas, but they did the same thing back in 2010 looking for other permits with the same address.

  2. Wow... The old plans are already gone from sprint.com! I saw it above, but didn't believe it until I saw it myself. It is now $310/mo for five smartphones....

I just checked the "Everything Plus Referral" page, and they only list these new plans, for the same price?!?! So, it sounds like Everything plus is out the window!

  3. I really wish 7 were out now. My sleep button on my 5 died the other day so I had to take it in to Apple to get a refurbished one. Problem was that I was jailbroken before and had to restore back to factory before I took it in. The one they gave me was on 6.1.3 and there's no jailbreak for that yet as they're saving it for 7. So now I'm stuck back on stock and it's just painful.

I tweeted the other day that 7 is amazing, it's the best parts of Android and Metro. Which isn't a bad thing, stock iOS is pretty stale and outdated. I love my Nexus 7, but I like my iPhone hardware much more and I do like how stable the OS is.

I agree, it is very stable.  I never get any force close notices vs. Android.

  4. So what does that mean to us, the "end user"? Will we be getting faster speeds soon?

As I was coming back from Augusta, driving through North and South Carolina in April, I was able to stream the live telecast of the Masters on my phone with a 3g connection and it worked flawlessly.  I was really amazed how good the NV 3G service was.

  5. Another interesting updated.  Seems odd for the courts to get involved in such an important part of a company's future... I am a little biased towards the Softbank merger though

A court hearing on whether to delay next week’s shareholder vote on Sprint’s acquisition by a Japanese company ended early Friday afternoon.

Johnson County District Judge Thomas M. Sutherland heard arguments from attorneys of shareholders who contended that Sprint’s $20.1 billion deal with SoftBank Corp. favors the buyer over existing shareholders.

The judge said there would be no ruling on Friday, but promised a written decision before next Wednesday.

    During the three-hour court hearing...

  6. It's a free app, but I thought it was junk. I had it on my phone and where it said towers were located was waaaay wrong and you can't do data tracking. So, to me it was just another speed test app and I already have one, so I deleted it.

  7. i'm in kentucky i was wanting to keep up with the sprint network vision upgrades for this area how would i look up the contractor or address of the towers so i can post on here permitting for sprint nv upgrades as they come in??

You just have to do google searches, for instance, "Kenton County KY building permits". The county is the best place to start. You will find as you look and dig around that some cities do their own building permits and some counties and most cities don't have their building permit information online. I'm sure the state of Kentucky does their own permitting too, for towers that are on state property (ex: highways, state parks, waste treatment plants, etc.)

Cincinnati and Hamilton County are a pain though. They require you to know the exact address and street name to do any type of building permit searches. As of right now, I don't know of any maps that have the known site address for the city or the county.

    Hope this helps.

  8. So, when the Dayton/Cinncinnati LTE gets up and running will it cover Middletown?

At one time I heard a rumor of an antenna going up on Atrium Hospital right off I-75.

Yes, Cincinnati market starts in northern KY and goes all the way up to Wapakoneta.

Don't know anything about a new site at the Atrium hospital...just do some digging around, through Warren County website or see if Middletown has an online permit website.

  9. Just found a permit applied for on 3/8/13 for "SPRINT ANTENNA MODIFICATION; CHANGING ANTENNAS, ADDING RADIOS & OTHER AFFILIATED EQUIPMENT" for the tower at 4810 Trinity Church Rd near Hara Arena in Dayton. Here comes the LTE! Permit # BLD13-00240 in Montgomery County.

I'm already tracking all of the Dayton OH permits in another thread in the Sponsor Forum... http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/3158-dayton-oh-permits-for-network-vision/

There are 29 permits pulled so far in the Dayton area, including Montgomery, Greene and Shelby counties.

I can't wait for us to finally get some 4G love in Dayton.

  10. You can wirelessly bridge Apple Airports (extreme and express) together as well. Very easy to setup with the software included. This is the setup I currently have and they work great. I stream 2 tv's with netflix over wifi, 2 smart phones and a laptop and never have problems. I have my PS3 plugged into the express (for a faster connection vs. wifi "g") and my stereo to airplay itunes from the laptop or fiancee's iphone.
