  1. 3G EVDO speeds of 2+ Mbps are not sustainable at a busy site at peak times. However, Sprint can maintain sites to run 1 Mbps peak speeds and up to 2.65 Mbps off peak speeds with proper network maintenance and carrier upgrades. Anything above 1 Mbps is just gravy.

Robert...Is there anything new on the Cincinnati market?
  2. Sprint is deploying LTE 1900 in all 97 markets, including Cincinnati. This is a fact. The RF design has long been complete for all the Cincy market sites.

I'm glad you confirmed this, as it doesn't make sense to not deploy all MHz technologies in all of the markets.

  3. I have the iphone 5, but the speedtest app doesn't show details about the network under results. It just shows "Cellular." Big help there! I looked back when I was in Annapolis area a month back and had LTE and it showed the same thing for that.

Have you ever gone into the Field Test screens and see if it shows eHRPD or LTE? From what I have read, it might show up there

  4. I don't know if the process is the same, but for me to switch from a "public" plan to an everything plus referral plan, I had to wait until my contract expired, port my number to a pre-paid type service (anything but Virgin or Boost), then port my number back to Sprint to a new account for the Everything Plus plan. It was an absolute pain. I don't know if going the opposite direction will be as bad though. I was told by numerous people I talked to online, at telesales and at employee telesales that my number could not be ported from one Sprint account to a new Sprint account.

  5. Follow the Ohio thread here and download Sensorly and use it once NV is launched in ur neck of the woods(Granville, Ohio here).

Thanks for the welcomes... I'm soo happy this site exist because there is so much Sprint leaves people in the dark on.

Yeah, I follow that thread and I've started using Sensorly on my old EVO for now tracking 3G areas. Hopefully they come out with a sensorly app for Iphone, because that will be my next device.

  6. Just wanted to say hey to everyone and how glad I am I found this site with so many knowledgable people with the same interest in Sprint and their NV project as I have. I believe Sprint will be the best provider in a few years (even before the SoftBank merger) for mobile telecommunications in the US with their thought and vision (no pund intended) on Network Vision.

I have been totally let down since I bought my OG EVO 4G 2 years ago in hopes of getting 4G wimax service in Dayton, but it never arrived. I have faithfully stayed with Sprint for almost 10 years now and just recently renewed my contract. I can't wait for the day when these towers in the Cincinnati/Dayton region start getting turned on. So much, I finally decided to donate a little money with more to come to Robert and S4GRU.com in hopes of getting the inside track on all of the latest NV information.
