I know, just saying that most of the employees really are happy to work there. Sprint is a great company to work for, and really doesn't deserve the crap that it gets, all the time.
Good to hear. I know someone who works in the legal department at Sprint World Headquarters (absolutely beautiful campus). She says the same thing regarding her employment.

I'm honestly to the point where I think I'm just going to hold out for the Nexus. As long as it's not 6" this time, we should be fine.
Google always does a fantastic job at optimizing the baseband to use the antenna to its fullest potential.
EDIT: I ended up buying an HTC One M8 from Amazon Warehouse deals a few weeks back for $64. It's in almost new condition and it's been running great. I can definitely hold off until Sept/Oct to see what is in store for the next Nexus.
EDIT2: I'm still interested in RF performance of the G4, given how many promotions there are that makes this phone tempting.
I'm with you on all of that. And, nice find on the Amazon deal.. I would have jumped on that, too! I'd love to hold out for the next Nexus. This present one is just way to big. The only problem is, I'm not so sure the Nexus 7 will be any smaller. I sure hope it is, though.

Wow, this thread is quite slow. Looks like the S6 grabbed a lot of LG's flagship customers this year.
Anyways, anyone care to chime in on their RF experiences?
I think so, too. I think LG waited too long after the S6 and M9 launch to release this phone. That being said, it may be the gem of the bunch, as there are many reports of poor (or average, at best) RF performance in the S6 and M9 threads. Maybe this will be a case of "good things come to those who wait." I know I'm looking forward to it.

Did Marcelo’s Meeting With Masa Go Better Than Expected?

Any chance you could summarize why BTIG suggests this, please? I'm not a member of that site. Thank you.

It's good so far and there's many markets to be released (namely 90% of the ones I've wanted to see xD)
I have a feeling a lot more will improve in the 2H tests of this year, too. I'm still quite curious at how well Sprint will do on the state reports this quarter. They should come closer to the big two in several states and win more awards in that category.
Absolutely! The gap is closing.

I've got 4 lines with Sprint, 3 of which average about 2 to 4 GB/month each. The 4th line is a tablet, and averages about 1GB/Mo. About 10GB/Mo combined. I've got a 40BG shared plan (with hotspot) and am paying only $146/month. Win/Win: Good price, no worries.
Edit: Arysyn, see how concise, yet complete that was?
-
It was good first quarter for Sprint.
That is certainly impressive. Sprint the most improved over the last year? I say, Yes.

I suspect your right on Verizon getting their way most of the time. But for what it's worth, the opposite does occasionally happen.
For instance, we have a local rural town that is (probably illegally) blocking Verizon, even though AT&T was allowed. - http://boycottverizonwexford.com
I think so, too. I didn't realize (until recently) how big Verizon is in comparison to the largest companies in the world. Far larger than even ATT and SoftBank. I suspect their influence goes far beyond the greater good. Corporate America, US Govt, nuff said. Certainly a concern (IMO) if Sprint/Softbank decide to participate in the 600MHZ auction. If there has ever been a time to root for the underdog....

Also wondering how the g4 stacks up against my nexus 5 in terms of LTE signal strength. My nexus 5 is absolutely turrible. Constantly on 3g or "searching for service"
The Nexus 5 was known to be one of the best RF performers produced. The G4 looks good per the FCC docs but, I'm not sure if any device will beat the N5 at this point.

I see. Is Phoenix one of the markets that will get 3x3 Mhz of spectrum allocated for B26 once IBEZ issues are fixed? This can help remedy the issue of capacity from B26, with the second B25 carrier.
I don't think that IBEZ is the hold up in PHX B26 delays. It's getting Maricopa County to stop squatting on Sprint's spectrum.
-
Executive level. There are several hundreds complaints on Sprint community of 1 bar LTE signal and nothing has been done. So far, I only been getting from the executive level "We are always looking at this issue and will continue to make sure that our device bars are well calibrated."
It's a shame people don't realize how little "bars" mean. In most cases, it's completely irreverent to the experience the user will receive. Indoors at my work, I get 1 "bar" of LTE B41 and still get pings under 80ms and data speeds greater than 15mb.
"Bars" are practically useless.

I don't think I like the new updates. My phone is running noticeably slower. Videos have really low frame rates or freeze entirely. It messed up my lg Bluetooth headset. The play button no longer pauses Pandora for instance. Exiting an app shows a blank screen for two seconds before icons show up. I see no benefits whatsoever.
Definitely not the case in all instances. I experience nothing like that. Performance is just as good, if not better, on my G2. Have you tried a factory data reset post-update?
-
Still no update......How long does this take?
Wow, sorry to hear that. I'd try a few re-boots and profile updates. Or, if you're not willing to wait any longer, what Maverick kindly recommended. I got my update on day one at 6AM, OTA, with no issues. I couldn't be happier with the results... So, I say, it's worth the wait. Good luck!

Anybody remember what rf 25 26 41 is g 3 ,cant recall specs.
English is the native language at S4GRU. Please re-post.

So, I may have found a fix for the battery draining. (Credit to QBKing77) Go to Settings>Wi-Fi>The three buttons in the Wi-Fi menu> Advanced Wi-Fi> and turn off Allow Wi-Fi Scanning
Hope this helps some of you!
Interesting. Mine was off by default. But, my battery has been great just like it always has been, too.

not much we haven't seen but, since this is the 2015 phone I'm most looking forward to, I thought I'd share:
Camera and screen look great... Hope the RF performance turns out to be good, too.
-
Tucson here, hopefully things get going soon! Not a single B41 or B26 site live here yet, so we're all still relying on B25.
Ouch! I didn't realize there was no B41 at all.

S4GRU needs a Guinea Pig near the border to go out and conduct tests.....NOT IT!
It!
This won't help much now, but I will be able to report soon. In a few weeks I will be taking a trip (driving) to MX from PHX. I plan on leaving my phone on, with International Data Roaming and International Voice enabled. I have already ensured several times that the International Value Roaming plan is indeed active on all my Sprint devices. Although most of my trip will be in Movistar coverage, there are a few gaps, which is what I am most curious about. I will leave my phone on the entire time, just to test. Again, it will be a few weeks before I take my vacation but, I will report back.

I am loving the update...
Agreed. This is probably the most flawless update I've had. Works like a champ!
-
So is Phoenix effected by ibez or is the delay here just maricopa county?
My understanding is B26 is delayed in Phoenix due to Maricopa County, and Tuscon is delayed due to IBEZ.

Well the easiest way to tell is to enable the Voice Recognition -> From Any Screen option on the Google Search app and try making mulitple calls. If people can hear you from multiple calls then it should be fixed. On the ZVE firmware you had to disable the Voice Recognition -> From Any Screen option or else like 95% of your calls will be muffled and just irritated the folks on the other line because they can't hear you as if you are whispering.
Interesting, I'll have to look into that.
-
Awesome. What about the muffled voice bug? Is that still there?
I wish I could answer this better but, I guess it may still be there. I have only had two lengthy (5 min+) conversations and, I have not noticed a difference in voice quality. But, to be honest, I didn't even know this was a "bug." Sounds fine to me.

Eric,
In my first 24 hours I think that signal/LTE performance remains unchanged, which is pretty good compared to many devices. Battery life I think may be slightly improved, again, pretty good compared to many devices. Overall, the phone performs quite well with Lollipop. It seems they did a great job on the software side. It's hard to believe that a phone this old is still this good and relevant. If only all my devices could be this way. This is by far the longest I've held on to a single handset and, to this day, I don't see any major reasons to upgrade.
