  1. Well, I took the bait and ordered the 5X today.  Really looking forward to it.. Ya can't beat the value here, that is for sure.

Funny story (or, so I think):  I was watching hulu via Chromecast when the Nexus 5X commercial comes on.  I pick up my Android phone and activate the Sound Search for Google Play widget to find out what song was playing (Lean On).  I immediately purchased the song through Google Play/Music.  Two hours later, I get on my Chromebook, go to Google.com and purchase a Nexus 5X.

At least when they evaluate the effectiveness of their advertising.. and services & products in general.. I will have made them proud.

Talk about taking the bait.. hook, line and sinker.

  2. I called in to switch my Framily plan from my iPhone 6 Plus to my 6s Plus line. They said up to 72 hours before I should hear back from them. If they won't do it, I'll figure out how to switch my account to a business account and go on Business Fusion. Unlimited on Fusion is only $5/mo more than Framily Unlimited.

Not a bad plan.  Are the Business Fusion plans eligible for Sprint Open World?

  3. The thing I'd like to point out that I haven't seen on here is that the Sprint Direct2You is a huge mobile billboard!

Marketing, marketing, marketing. If the picture of one of the Fiats that they used online is the actual fleet car that they use for this, that logo is different and it's proven in marketing that white on black or yellow on black is the top color scheme the brain remembers. I see so many benefits of this service even beyond the fact it's a delivery and setup service.

Deval and clbowens make a great point. If they can also have these people check the network in all these different locations that they need to go, it will make the network better optimized for the real world user. Office buildings, subdivisions, parks, downtown, the coffee shop... they are going where the average consumer will be.

Either way, it's publicity, signage and marketing for them.

And yes, it is still a "newer" service but jeez, keep an open mind people. I probably will never use it myself, but thinking in others peoples shoes I could totally see how this would make the process of getting any device easier for some.

I agree with you on that.

Also, I think that Sprint's new service goes much further than its face value.  Yes, there may be a niche market for this new service.  However, those who are interested are bound to like it. I mean, I would never use it but, it is a cool concept!  If even just a fraction of that "niche" group use and have a good experience, they're likely to tell their friends/fam about this cool new service/experience from Sprint in a positive way. Thus improving the brand image of Sprint.

  4. There's a lot of confusing information here to activate this device.

What would be the easiest and fastest way to activate this device on Sprint? I'm really looking forward to it but the hassle of the whole thing is turning me off....

I wouldn't worry too much about it.  It's just an atypical situation that will likely be sorted out within a week or two.

  5. Ah well thanks for that correction.

And indeed I was glad to hear the start of progress on that as well. It gives a bad image to the consumer and his social crowd (if applicable), to have a moderate signal shown as "0-2" bars.

    I agree with that.

For example, When I'm at work, inside I get 0 to 1 "Bar" (about -110 to -114) on B41 yet, I still get download speeds over 10mbps.

  6. ...The area where they struggle the most is data speed and we all know that's about to change.

And, that is the best thing about Sprint.  All their changes are improvements.  Sprint's network has just been steadily getting better for the last 3 or 4 years; yet, they still have so much capacity to grow.

And as you pointed out, T-Mo seems to have peaked a while ago and is now declining.
