  1. Well they have been working hard trying to roll out NV so lets hope someone had a bit of R&R. They will definately need it after this roll out is complete.
  2. Is it just me or does it seem like San Antonio has been forgotten? I check the NV completed sites each week and SA doesnt have any or it might have one or two every couple of weeks.. While Houston and other cities seem to get 9-25 or more every week. Im just curious if Im just being overly sensitive and impatient to not seeing more completed sites each week or if others have noticed this also.
  3. Atleast you have wifi. Wifi on my evolte is useless since the OTA.
  4. After the first OTA, I have not had any reboot issues. I now have wifi issues though. I had no issues before the OTA and now afterwards my wifi wont connect to save my life. I take that back, I do get random connections (few and far between) for brief periods of time. Then its back to nothing. My evolte shows that it is connected, I just dont get any throughput. I am using the same access point on my laptop and I have no issues with that. So I have no idea what happened, I shouldnt have updated.
  5. Theres no denying that sprint has neglected their network for years. Especially in some areas. I would be patient and just wait for NV to complete in your area. Every Sprint tower will be LTE, so if you have Sprint service and compatible hardware you will have lte. Its on its way to you.
  6. That whole area of UC, Comverse and Live Oak has always had poor coverage. My indoor signal in those areas have been spotty at best, I have an airave to help out with that. I am hoping that with NV that will all change for the better. I am told that the tower by RAFB will be complete in October. That should help out that area a lot. As far as not including this area initially, I believe that they were trying to cover the main arteries in SA first. That would include the I35 corridor, loop 410, loop 1604, 281, I10 and of course the airport. Mostly all on the northside and downtown areas. Its all coming along fairly well. Im all over SA and surrounding areas due to the nature of my work and Ive seen pretty good coverage and great speeds. Its an exciting time for sprint and telecommunications in general.
  7. I had, and still have the old Motolola brick. I thought that was so high speed back then. lol It now sits on my desk as a paper weight. I think it will still power up. Idk for sure though, its been awhile since Ive messed with it.
  8. The only lte in Universal City at this time comes from the water tower behind the Forum. It is great at the forum but for some reason it is not good in UC itself. I live in Olympia right behind the Forum and can not get lte. No lte on Pat Booker road either. The tower by Randolph AFB (other end of Pat Booker) does not have lte as of yet. Im hoping that when that tower comes online that UC will be covered by lte completely.
  9. For a business that is in the communication industry, they sure are not good at communication. But thats why we have S4GRU.
  10. There is enough prior art that this patent shouldnt be a problem. Although Apple will most definately try to ban products with this patent. Probably before the end of the month we will see some sort of litigation from Apple because of this.
  11. Pat8635 said: If you look closely at the map. It looks like all the LTE towers are INSIDE 1604 and then one up at 3009. Rock_paper_... if you are down that hill at all or behind those apartments, that would explain it. The tower Im refering to is the big blue water tower behind Home Depot. It is almost right on top of the apartments that you speak of. My house is not that close, maybe 3/4 miles away or so. Near the Jehovehs Witness Church on Forum Rd.
  12. I was using netmonitor to locate the towers. It is the closest tower to both locations. The Forum is basicly under it and my house is approx maybe 3/4 miles away. I did drive up to the tower and on the Forum side I had LTE, I then went to the other side and I had 3g. I dont know what to make of it.
  13. If I had 3g in a building before, I have LTE in the same building. If I didnt have 3g then I dont have LTE. Thats been my experience so far.
  14. Where I am able to get LTE here in San Antonio it has been amazingly fast. I am impressed. I know that Sprint still has a long way to go here in SA, but now that I can actually see the progress. It gives me renewed patience to wait for the completion. I know it wont be much longer. And until NV is complete I can play with whatever LTE is available or use WIFI. Im feeling much better about this NV now. Go Sprint!
  15. Dont feel bad. I was rocking LTE speeds at the Forum. At my house which is in Olympia right behind the Forum I get slow 3g. I find it odd because im on the same tower that I was on at the Forum. Its on the big blue water tower right behind the Home depot. Dont understand this.
  16. That map does not reflect the true LTE footprint in San Antonio at this time. I do believe that is what it will be when NV is complete. There is Lte In San Antonio. I have picked it up in many areas of the city and it is blazing fast.
  17. Im not sure if what you have said is quite accurate. We now have LTE in San Antonio but our 3g is still atrocious. I have been told that the tower near my house is complete with 3g and LTE but Sprint has not signed off on the 3g as of yet. It was supposed to have been accepted last week but here I am with unusable 3g. I do believe there are other factors at play here. But we do have LTE in San Antonio.
  18. Yes I was using the evolte. I went to dinner at Olive Garden last night and my signal was just as good inside the building as it was outside in the parking lot. I never dropped the LTE signal. Now when the evolte does drop the signal, at least from my experience, you have to toggle the cdma/lte switch or even on some occasions restart the phone. I do believe this is an issue that can and will be addressed eventually with an ota. I think Sprint has a real winner here. If they can address any system issues that may occur, and of course any issue that we might have with our phones in a timely manner, then I believe that sprint will start making a come back from the depths of hell that is has found itself in.
  19. Im all over San Antonio all day everyday. Ive been seeing LTE come alive today all over town. These are some of the speed Ive gotten so far. 34.06 Mbps down ----- 12.80 Mbps up 27.62 Mbps down ------ 11.74 Mbps up 26.07 Mbps down ------ 8.97 Mbps up My Average out of seven test is 18.65 Mbps down ------ 9.71 Mbps up These were all test in the Universal City, Selma, Schertz area Im fairly impressed. The one thing im not to happy about is that for some reason I dont get LTE at my home. I dont know why because Im only about a mile and a half away from a LTE tower. My tower is acually a water tower and Im beginning to think that maybe only one side of that water tower has LTE. If go to the other side of the tower in question I have LTE, I go to the opposite side and I get 3g. Im kind of dissapointed in this. Oh, also the fact that I must manually cycle my EVO from CDMA to LTE to get the LTE connection. I have to do this everytime I drop LTE signal. The EVO will not reconnect on its own. I hope sprint/HTC does something about this connection issue very soon.

  21. I would like to thank everyone for all the insight on how the airave works. Approx. an hour after my last post on this thread my wifi started to work just fine. I have no idea what changed because I did nothing to the phone or access point. Shortly there after I left home for work and my phone has been working great. Now that I am back home my phone connects to the wifi access point with no problems, but I am having the same issue again. Pages will not load. I am using the same access point for my laptop and am having no issues at all.
  22. That makes perfect since. Feeling kind of stupid here. lol I have cycled the access point. It is the same one that Im accessing right now on my laptop. It appears to be working just fine.
  23. That probably expains some of my question. I always thought the airave connected by wifi. And the network toggle is explained also if what your saying is correct and I have no reason to doubt what you have said. Ive read alot of your post and have been learning quite a bit. So if you can help me figure out the wifi I would really appreciate it. It says its connected at 23 Mbps but I get no throughput. Webpages just sit there with the loading wheel. Nothing actually loads up
  24. Ever since the OTA yesterday my wifi will connect but I get no throughput. It says its connected at 23 Mbps. When I turn off the wifi and make a phone call it still beeps to let me know Im connected to my airave. I dont know how this is possible. ?????? If I turn off my mobile network and wifi I am still able to make calls. I have cycled my phone off/on and still have the same issues. Any Ideas?
