  1. My mom has the HK edition and yesterday we discovered her camera lens is scratched. Is this something that would be covered under warranty?

about 6 months ago I had the same problem which was producing blurry photos. I brought it to a sprint repair store who told me that it's not covered by warranty and that they would have to send it in for repair which may or may not be covered. Instead of dealing with that idiot I went to another sprint repair store. the guy there took my phone, tried updating something, did some testing and came back to me saying that it is a free replacement. I bought mine at release and with further research it appears on early released phones there was a film on the front of the camera lens that was sometimes peeling off and causing blurry photos. hopefully that helps.

  2. Anyone else get the stragefright update this morning. HTC was very quiet about how they were going about it. Meaning saying nothing at at all. But it just popped up a lil ater 7am for me.

It also automatically popped up on my wife's and my phone yesterday.

  3. Anybody of you guys have travel to any of the sprint value roaming areas and able to connect to their roaming partners? I'm in Mexico right now and haven't had any luck connect to Movistar from my phone to use data and text

I am currently connected to Movistar in Mexico. To do so I went to settings -> Mobile data -> Network mode -> select GSM/UMTS only.  Then Available GSM Networks -> Select automatically. It took a moment to register with Movistar,  but once it did it automatically connects after airplane mode toggles or restarting the device. When in Brazil it was the same process to connect to Vivo.

Did you enable it on your plan?

Have you switched to GSM roaming only?

I was able to enable from my account on the sprint site without calling. After checking my usage from the sprint site, IVR data and texts are accurately reflected without additional charges. In addition,  wifi calling worked and was reflected in my usages accurately w/o additional charges.

  4. No, enlighten us.

1 drink for everyone. Rumors started for the ICS update to be released in early December. After multiple iterations of releasing for testing and back to lab to make fixes, the update didn't go live until January. In the forum they made a whole drinking game based on release date predictions and rumors started.

  5. I-5 from Los Banos until Santa Clarita is a long awful stretch of highway. Even on AT&T, there were issues in some of the hill areas. But it may be better for them now. Good coverage is the only thing to make that awful drive bearable. I'd even rather drive I-80 across Nevada than I-5 in Central CA. But that's just me.

Or u can take 101 and get some delicious tri-tip at my old stomping grounds at San Luis Obispo's Firestone Grill or Jocko's in Nipomo.

  6. Of course it's not connecting to b41 now. And I didn't get a screen shot this morning. Might be still testing. Let's see what tomorrow brings.

I had the same experience in my house last week. My phone for the first time connected to a b41 site that was supposed to be online in May. It stayed connected for the next day and after that I am back to 3G. I was excited because that clear tower filled in the sprint coverage gap my house resides in. I think this is partly leading to my poor battery life. The other is at work there is a 3G accepted tower across the street from my building, but instead my phone connects to a distant LTE tower with one or two bars of service.

  7. I leave tomorrow for south america and remembered hearing something about making free international calls over wifi. Don't think that is enabled yet, but I will know for sure soon.

  8. Band 41? ill just be ecstatic to connect to band 25 lte again!! (without putting it in lte only mode)

At this point I do not care whether it is clear band 41, band 25, or band 26, as long as it is LTE. The legacy evdo is killing me in the city.

  9. Every remaining Samsung market I tracked had temporary GMO pushes near the very end to get cluster launched with rapid conversions to full builds afterwards.

This a great news considering tri-band LTE devices will now have access to band 41 LTE in the city.

  10. So at Giants games I usually just use the stadium wifi due to a lack of accepted NV sites, but I forgot to connect to it this time. I was on 3G when i got there, but then out of no where my phone switched to band 41 LTE and stayed for a while. I'm hoping this means SF is closer to a cluster launch of NV equipment.

  11. Ah ok. Yeah those speed tests on sensorly are probably yours huh. Did you get b25 lte inside? Stable usable? Wondering if I have to force LTE only like at Busch Stadium.

Guilty as charged. B25 depends on where u are in the stadium. It has been much more stable than 3g when u can find it, but i would keep falling back to 3g. Enjoy the game. Hopefully the yankees didn't see Cespedes cannon for an arm against the angels and will try running on him.

  12. Yeah just looked at the sensorly map. Looks like b41 is nearby.

The b41 tower is on the south side of the coliseum across 880. I got some b41 in the south parking lot, but could not find it inside.
