  1. My personal choice would be a Forester.  Subaru's are great when it comes to handling in all conditions and reliability. I am currently driving a '97 Outback with 356,000 miles and it's still running strong.  It drives great in deep snow, but I can't speak much about mud.  I have had times when the snow was so deep that when the door opens, it is actually pushing snow.  I have yet to find another company that can compete with Subaru AWD.

  2. I'm personally a mechanical engineer, but at my place of employment, the guys with computer science degrees that we hire write the software to run the equipment that we make.  This is for large scale material handling systems like warehouses. The software they write also makes the whole system operate as efficiently as possible for the customer.

  3. I was in Green Bay two weeks ago with a guy that has a N5. He wasn't able to connect to band 26 despite our attempts to force the band priority.  Perhaps they can't even see band 26 yet, but I thought they could, just not band 41.

Man, Madison really has become stagnate for the past couple months without a single tower change.  Unfortunately there still are some awful gaps in the coverage here now, especially downtown on the isthmus and capitol.  Service is still unusable at MSN airport too.  It's pretty great despite that though, look forward to any Band 26 showing up here.  If there's a premier sponsor lurking here, perhaps just drop us a "hey there's a tower in your area" information when it does happen.

No LTE 800 anywhere in the Milwaukee market, only North Wisconsin.  Also, until a post within the last day or two from Robert, there was none even remotely close to the Green Bay area which would explain why you couldn't find it.

  4. Have you jailbroken yet and tried it? How did it go? Where is the prl at and i will try it. i have my 5 jailbroken on ios 7.

I have successfully done it.  1x800 works great along with EVDO here in Milwaukee.  I used Digi's premier sponsor prl but there is also a thread with prls for regular sponsors (http://s4gru.com/index.php?/topic/3059-800smr-s4gru-sponsors-prls/).  The first couple pages of this thread are also very helpful to read about what is needed before changing PRLs and directions on how to do it.

  5. are you using digis 503.prl. It's nice in my iphone5

    Do you mean 513?

I am using 512 because I have an Airave at home and don't have strong enough service yet (even with 1x800) to get rid of it. Hopefully I will be able to by the time NV 1.0 is finished.

Edit: Nevermind, 502, 503 are the regular sponsor PRLs.  The 512, 513 versions are in the premier sponsor section.

  6. Not surprising at all. Many phones have the same set of software and it is selected by a global variable.

I knew the software could be the same for many phones, I just thought loading of PRLs and other carrier specific info happened at activation, not all bundled into everyone's software.  I guess you learn something new every day!

    Do you have a 5 or 5s/c?

    Just the 5.

  7. I was surprised that I was able to go to the Verizon_LTE_US folder, copy the carrier.prl file from there and paste it in the Sprint folder, and Roam on Verizon.  I am not still roaming on Verizon, just did it as a proof that I could get it to work.

Edit:  I'm not really surprised that I was able to roam on Verizon, more so surprised that a Verizon PRL was stored on a Sprint iPhone...

  8. I've followed the instruction exactly. I tried two times, can't get the custom prl to load. I'm still on the Sprint 51099. That would change if the load worked properly, right? Any suggestions?

I had the same problem when I was doing this for the first time on Friday night.  A second reboot with prl push flag on and then reboot with prl push flag off solved the problem for me.

  9. I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this or if it has been mentioned before...

I was just looking at Sprint's coverage maps (tailored to the HTC One Max so I could see Spark coverage) and I noticed that there was A LOT more white "no coverage" area on the map than i had previously seen.

I then changed the device back to an iPhone 5s and a lot more data roaming coverage showed up to make the map as I previously remembered it (which continued to look the same as I looked at the G2 and Nexus 5.

Since this clearly doesn't apply to all Spark devices, does the One max not have roaming coverage similar to all other Sprint devices or did Sprint make a mistake when they made the map for the HTC One max?

I was specifically looking at the northern Wisconsin area and mid-west general when I noticed this situation.

Edit: I'm aware the 5s is not a Spark device, just used it for comparison.

  10. I'm hoping they just misworded this:

"Once you have reached 80% of your purchased usage you will receive a notification on your mobile device. At that time, you may choose to add on a little extra, or wait until your next billing cycle to start using your mobile device. "

So you can either (1) buy more minutes when you've used up 80% of your minutes, or (2) stop using your device?  So what about that last 20% you paid for?  There's no option to "continue using the remainder of your minutes for the month" in there.

And looking at the rates, I don't see it as any better than any other prepaid plan.  Any given combination of minutes/data/texts has better options out there, so the only real benefit is that your plan basically re-adjusts via notifications per month - meaning it's less work than some other prepaids for people who have dramatically different usage from month to month.  The roaming could also be a plus, but I have serious doubts as to how much and at what speeds that would be.

I think this may be in a different spot on their site from where you were looking but it addresses your concern (#4):

    "

    1. Zact charges your credit card at the beginning of each month.
    2. During the month, you can adjust your plan as you go or wait and see how much you use.
    3. You’ll never get charged without knowing because we will alert you when you are close to reaching your limits.
    4. Then you can choose to buy more (or not) and adjust your plan right from your device.

    "

  11. I don't have anything to be able to access B26 otherwise I would love to go see if the 800LTE is broadcasting where it is accepted.  Are there any premier sponsors that could go check it out??

I'm in the same situation as you. I go through that area pretty frequently but I didn't rush to get a tri-band device because I never thought it would be in our area so soon since we had to wait so long after 1900 LTE started rolling out for that to show up.
