Soooooo my mapping was kind of unsuccessful. My 4G ended around prospect and ogden, which is exactly where it ended already on the map. I was pretty disappointed because I only live a couple blocks from there... BUT 4G was detected several times in short bursts at my apartment. I managed to get a speed test in, but got 0 up and 0 down. So I'm sure they are testing a tower near by. I can get the tower's coords, but I can't figure out how to copy/paste from LTE discovery. There has to be a way. I may have to resort to actually writing them down
That's disappointing... I literally need one extra block to reach my apartment!

I will have to check this out after work today.
I live by Brady and Farwell and didn't have 4G yesterday. I'm hoping that I'm not exactly in the middle of that tower and the tower by summerfest grounds hahahaha
There was no 4G at Humboldt and Lyon last night or this morning but you could pick it up as you head south on Prospect near Wisconsin.

That tower being talked about in Hartland and a tower near W Silver Spring Dr and Fon Du Lac Dr in Milwaukee have been marked 4G complete.

RootMetrics uses the speedtest data against current gps coordinates to build their maps. Sensorly mines the signal data from the system as it gets it from the radios. Apple doesn't allow any app to access that information. Signal 2 by planetbeing accesses that information on jailbroken devices, so the API's are available.Sent from Josh's iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2
That makes sense. I knew root metrics also used signal strength in their calculations and maps but I'm guessing just accessing the strength is different from finding what type of service is currently active on the device.

I don't under stand why apple feels the need to limit the sensorly app when it allows an app like root metrics into the appstore?

Oh, I see in the other area Robert listed the locations... Darn! The first towers completed in the Milwaukee market are nowhere near the city of Milwaukee!
Where did you find which towers are completed?

Speeds on the east side near UWM have gotten much better in the past 3-4 months. In late 2012, data was almost useless during peak times but they have increased enough to make a phone useful. Data speeds are still no where near matching the speeds I have seen in Manitowoc and Green Bay but hopefully that will change soon with LTE.

Thanks for the quick response Snowmobiler! I guess I'll find out for sure tomorrow when I receive my HTC One and when I go to Green Bay next weekend. I'm also hoping data speeds are good enough for nearly seamless listening of Pandora on 43 haha. Thanks again Snowmobiler!
Of course. Pandora will not be a problem at all on 43 or the trip there from west bend. That is what I usually listen to while driving as well.

I was wondering if anyone from Green Bay could testify to Sprint coverage by rating the call quality and data speed. I'll be moving to Green Bay in a month and just want to get an idea on how it will be like. I know this is for 4G LTE but I thought this would be the best spot to ask this question. Thanks!
Sprint service in Green Bay in my experience has always been much better than my experience in Milwaukee (east side near UWM, data in Milwaukee is not fast at all, not sure what west bend is like). I grew up in Green Bay and still go back to my parents house from time to time. If you are near Lambeau on a game day or near Bay Park Square (the mall) on a busy Saturday, you will notice data speeds drop a lot but calls are still fine. Overall service is very good, I don't have exact data speeds but but I can stream YouTube and Netflix flawlessly over 3G (I honestly wish I still lived there instead of Milwaukee!!)

I understand the difference between equipment being installed and sprint accepting a site as complete, I have simply been interested in hearing where equipment has been installed to gain an understanding of where LTE is even possible at this point in the Milwaukee area.

Because i work for the company doing the installs. LOL
Do you have any other info that you are able to share about what the schedule looks like in Milwaukee in the near future?

I have all the insight on which city is getting done.
Wausua is done, Union Grove should be done, Kenosha/Racine next
and....today is River Hills,WI
I did drive past the one and only site that actually sits in River Hills today and saw numerous people at the base of the tower.

I was taking a look at the Milwaukee area spectrum holdings and had a question. I do not see SMR 800 spectrum listed for Sprint or Nextel in the Milwaukee area. Has it not been filed yet or does Sprint not have licenses for SMR 800 in Milwaukee?
I also looked at Milwaukee and did not see SMR 800 listed by Sprint. I am not sure how filing into this system works but, when you use this website to look at the Chicago market (where SMR 800 has been deployed) there are again no licenses shown for Sprint. Like I said, I'm not really sure how this all works, but I think there can still be hope for SMR 800 in Milwaukee.

I had the same problem but if you google sensorly and click on the first link, it will bring you to the site and work fine.
