  1. Got the kids set up with cartoons this morning and thought I'd give the website a try again.

    Boom.

No problems, and the 64GB Silver iPhone 6S is still tracking for delivery on 9/25. The lesson here is that waking up early is a fool's errand...

I have found this the last two times I have preordered phones. I tried right as preorders were first available and had website issues where I couldn't complete an order. When I've come back at 7 AM and tried again, everything works flawlessly and I've received all phones on launch day.
  2. If you're looking to use one of your available upgrades to get a discounted 6+, have it unlocked, and then exchange that line with an older 5C after 90 days and the 6+ is unlocked, you should be able to do that. With that said, if you're willing to buy the phone outright, like others have said your easiest route is to simply purchase a 6+ "SIM free" from Apple. Lastly, don't forget that Apple will be announcing the newest 6s/s+ devices next week which will typically be available for resale shortly thereafter. The current 6/+ devices will most likely have a slight discount and / or you could purchase the newer device for her after that announcement.

I second the idea of waiting about 2 weeks until the new phones are announced and either you can get the new models for the same price that you would currently pay for a 6+ or you can get a 6+ for $100 less regardless of which purchase route you choose.

  3. In general which Sprint & Verizon phones can be unlocked and used on GSM carriers?

Generally speaking, any of the more recent LTE Phones can be put on GSM if unlocked?

    Are the SIMS compatible?

I assume the answer is yes or this thread wouldn't exist. Long time ago I used an AT&T Sim in an unlocked Verizon Imagio Smartphone and it worked. It was an HTC Imagio.

The reception was awful on both AT&T and Verizon.

I have used my iPhone 6 on both Sprint and T-mobile (pretty disappointing service compared to Sprint in my area BTW) in the U.S.

  4. Lol I almost forgot I had that phone. I've emailed them twice about returning it. It's funny how I keep getting reminded on why I stay with Apple

Which model did you have for your trial?

  5. Apple Pay: The coolest thing ever invented by Apple ever.

Until you go to Subway and the cashier insists that the only way to pay with your phone is to download the Subway app and scan the QR code....

It took me about 45 seconds of me telling him to just select the option for me to pay with a normal credit card before he changed the payment method, the NFC logo pops up on the card reader, I was able to pay with Apple Pay.

  6. I've never had good luck with any rep ever calling me back on either Sprint or Verizon. I hope the last guy I talked to does call though. He seemed to really want to help, unlike the woman I talked to a couple weeks ago.

I have had a rep that actually called me back before.  I am on an employee account though so that may make a difference.  I was very impressed with the effort he put in to help me out.

  7. Back on topic. Wasn't iOS 8 supposed to have a feature where you could "leave" those annoying mass messages that friends start up? Every time I see the option to "leave group," it's grayed out. I do, however, see a "mute conversation" toggle switch in the message details. Has anyone ever successfully "left" a mass sms?

I have the option on all of my group messages.

    Are they MMS or imessage??

  8.

Anyone having issues with really slow data speeds? I can't do much of anything on my phone anymore because it's so bad. I've updated it through ##update# and resetting the network settings and both have helped bat it always goes back to being slow as hell. I'm on a b41 tower so I definitely shouldn't be having these issues.

I did have a similar problem last night around 8-9 PM in Menomonee Falls.  There didn't seem to be an issue this morning.

  9. Doubtful.  If our email system (University of Wisconsin) goes down, or really has any issues at all, then all hell breaks loose on campus.  I definitely would've heard about that.  Also, as soon as I opened my Mail app the messages came flooding in.  My personal email account was doing the same thing too.  Definitely something strange was happening though.

I tinkered with it a little bit more this morning by switching Push on and off like 10 times...  maybe it finally took hold.

I have been having the same problem but I had it before 8.1 also.  I frequently receive emails from the night before when I check my phone during breakfast.  I didn't have to open the mail app for the messages to appear though.

  10. Not particularly pertaining to Apple though. If a solution such as this is developed for general use, do you guys think that carriers would be willing to use something like this so people could easily switch carriers.

Something along those lines was my first thought when I started this thread.  It would be nice to have an unsubsidized device that could jump from carrier to carrier without switching sim cards.
