  1. See I am old and skeptical. CEOs don't just let the President announce and get credit for job creation if they don't get something for it. It's Sprint that's creating the jobs, not Trump. By letting him claim credit for it they are doing him a favor. They are going to call on the favor at some point or another. I firmly believe it's about the merger.

    Take the $256M battery plant in Buffalo Between Tesla and Panasonic. Don't you think that was a quid pro quo from Trump? As in don't touch the federal subsidies for renewables?

    If I was running either of these companies I would definitely make a deal where I got something out of it. Wouldn't you?

    Regardless of any backroom deals, having the President-Elect share credit is a publicity multiplier.

    Win-Win for both sides.

  2. Anyone care about one web?

    http://oneweb.world/

    I remember somewhere in here sprint was planning on using satellites for backhaul or something like that?? In rural areas??

    Interesting check out one web... Seems like sprint/SoftBank has big plans for something in 2017. 3000 jobs to one web?? Doesn't seem like a merger to me yet. Really sounds as if SoftBank has something up its sleeve.

    "synergy" :P

  3. Long story short, I went over my mother's house today for the first time in over a year and what used to be just unusable 3G (sometimes) and mainly 1x800 was solid B26, nothing great by any means but it made my day there today a lot better. Sprint has definitely made some improvements, haven't seen much lately so this is a good sign. :)

    Are you now going to visit your mother more than just once a year?  :P

    It's too early to give Claure an $80+ million stock bonus.  I want Claure and top Sprint executive to stay hungry for at least another 12 to 24 months.  The company has still not yet earned a profit and continues to carry a growing $37 billion in debt.
