  1. Listening this morning and I'm sure these investors are going...excuses about market completion and tower upgrades again about churn?

EDIT:  Wasn't expecting the loss with Framily newness and the tablet adds.  Figured that would offset the issues with people leaving.

  2. Hey digi...no b25 LTE is everywhere here. Has been for about 18 months. Zero issues on the gs4 but it was a single band LTE phone..so no eCSFB issues. This n5 can't get LTE anywhere my gs4 did except in rare instances for 3 or 4 minutes at a time.

Still bet your phone is bad. I would see about going to a store to compare to another triband phone. Or find someone that has one.

  3. So what you are suggesting is that I don't have a defective nexus 5 and that the spark update will fix the issues that are destroying my life...er...am experiencing?

Have you confirmed it isn't the phone? Still find it hard to believe that band 25 LTE is hard to find in your area.

  4. I have the same issues as you. Do yourself a favor and download Network (Philipp Mangelow) from the play store. It will get you quickly to the screen where you put your phone into LTE only mode. This will force LTE connection but disable all calls and texts. After you do this, dial ##33284# and then go to LTE Engineering. This will show you the LTE Band you are connected to. Take note of every area that you are connecting to Band 26 so you know where you will always lose the connection. Also take note of where you are connecting to Band 25 so you know where you can reconnect by toggling Airplane mode. I have done this for the past few days and have it down to a science. Or you can just do what Sprint keeps suggesting I do, put the phone into CDMA only mode... Because 3G data is so reliable here.....

The New Orleans folks should coin a new term to add to the many they already did, Ericsson hoops ;)

  5. Some NSN sites have the thicker square looking 4-beam antennas, in other cases they would cluster two 2-beam antennas. Since NSN Flexi base stations are 4x4 MIMO capable, T-Mobile NSN had 4x4 capable antenna setup from the get go.

Now Ericsson markets are completely different story. Deploying 4x2 there would require new panels, upgrade to the BTS, etc... Don't think it'll happen this year.

Yeah, they have those really wide looking antennas.  Almost look like the 33 or 45 degree ones that Sprint has used.  They do have 3 bands in them as I can see the 3 remote downtilt controllers in them, makes sense now for the 4x4.  The site I see is an odd setup where they made a 4 sector site out of a 3 sector crows nest.  The fourth sector is hanging down below.  I've seen a few of them where they replaced the crows nest with a true four sector mount though.

  6. AJ, this isn't spatial diversity only. Multiplexing on 2 spatial streams is still present in 4x2 setup. And with 4 streams at the tower top, there is a higher probability of spatial multiplexing altogether. So the probability of UE connecting to TM3 or TM4 is much greater in 4x2 setup.

I always wondered why they had those weird looking antennas for those NSN setups, makes total sense now.  I see one on my daily commute right off the interstate, one of those sites that is still just Sprint legacy with no new equipment.

  7. Than he was saying whatever to shut me up. Just sensorlyed my entire trip to work and I see lot of people but not once did I get 4 g LTE. They may be overhauling and upgrading every tower in New Orleans Metairie and west bank.

Also one other thing... for Spark (aka Band 41), they'll have to file for permits in New Orleans before they even put up any equipment.  I haven't seen that yet.

  8. Only thing they are getting ready is to spark is some pissed off people walking off cause of no / poor service.

Yes, rollling out another LTE band should have minimal issues with the current rolled out band, but unfortunately that isn't the case.

Yes, many of us have heard this over and over, it's the typical excuse that the front line folks use.  Cry wolf syndrome.  I explained the reason a few post up above I believe on why.  They are rolling out 800LTE and your phone is jumping over to it.  Well Ericsson forgot the CSFB patch that allows your phone to receiving phone call setup message and text messages over LTE.  Since that patch isn't on the sites your phone basically says "Nope, I need phone calls and text."  So it jumps down to 3G mode and ignores the 1900 LTE band as well.

Maybe they will fix it in a couple days or weeks.  It's the trials and tribulations of living in an Ericsson market that either one doesn't have the proper tools and/or didn't receive the proper training.

  9. Gentlemen I went to Sprint store basically it was the network. Not getting LTE in a lot of areas but was told there upgrading towers and getting ready for Spark here in Nola.

Not really. There will not be any Spark here for quite a while.

They just use the upgrading thing anytime something is wrong. We just call it Ericsson being Ericsson and screwing stuff again.

  10. Would he still have issues even set to 3g only tho?

Possibly since he and all the other sparky devices are on EVDO in the area now.

The site with 3G issues could also be getting the B26 upgrade right now and it is being provisioned.
