  1. On Friday afternoon, I noticed a truck at the tower on 131, just south of B&G Discount in Schoolcraft, there was a truck and some equipment. I will keep an eye out for other equipment showing up.
  2. Yes, the tree is obnoxious compared to everything else around it. I'm still patiently waiting for the flagpole at Centre/131 to be updated to 4G, as I believe that site supplies my house with signal.
  3. Anyone notice the big fake tree tower that was recently installed in Portage near Centre and Oakland? I believe the flag pole is a tower for Verizon and/or ATT, but I noticed the crane putting the tree up the other day. Not sure if it might be a Sprint tower or not.
  4. I do as well. People always seem so shocked when you hand them a used device in the original box. Glad I'm not alone.
  5. Stupid question: The sticker on the back of the phone...keep it or get rid of it? I just got my Diztronic case and it looks terrible on there.
  6. Currently, I drive through a small section of LTE on my way to/from work, so that's hard to say. I will have to get back to you on that.
  7. Finally picked it up last night after work and activated it. So far, I'm loving this thing. It runs circles around my Evo LTE. Not regretting this choice at all!
  8. Agreed. It won't keep me from using the phone, but I'd much rather see them move up to the status quo with the other OEM's.
  9. Either way, there hasn't been an Evo/HTC phone that I can recall with a true RGB LED that is configurable, via something like Lite Flow. The ability to tailor custom colors for specific app notifications should be the status quo at this point, IMO.
  10. Good to know. After playing with one at the Sprint store, I had to have it. I'm not crazy about Blinkfeed, so I hope we can eventually disable it, but everything else seemed great. If I had to gripe about one major thing, it'd be the lack of a multi-color notification LED like Samsung has had for a few years. The little green/red LED hidden in the speaker grille is dated and ineffective IMO as a modern component of a top tier cell phone for a manufacturer.
  11. I picked up one the other day and it should be arriving later today or tomorrow. For those of you coming from the Evo LTE to the One, are you finding it to be a good change?
  12. I won an auction and picked up a sealed box One for less than Sprint wanted. Thanks for the help everyone.
  13. Wow, nice! The last time I had a serious issue with my Pre, they just gave me a new one instead of a refurb and a decent service credit for 2 years. Never managed to get a new phone out of the deal.
  14. I'll give it a shot. I've tried this in the past with phone launches and it never seems to end well. I basically get told that "you'll have to wait until your contract is up" line. Now, that is of course without going off the deep end and trying to be reasonable.
  15. They wanted the same price as the store. I've tried Amazon, BB, Wirefly, etc.
  16. Hello all. I've recently decided to upgrade from my Evo LTE to the HTC One, but still have some time left on my contract. The plan is to find someone selling a new in box One and pick one up. Now, Sprint wants $550 plus tax to get one at the stores, and the big box stores are even worse. Does anyone know where to find off-contract new phones for a decent price (besides eBay)?
  17. How about Mother Nature cooperating enough to let us play a round in the near future? I've been itching to try my new clubs out!
  18. Picked up strong signal near WMU's campus and along Michigan Ave. to Westnedge in Kalamazoo today. Couldn't map it as I was driving, but glancing down several times I saw 4-5 bars of 4G on my Evo.
  19. I'm concerned about the same thing myself. I'm not eligible for an upgrade at the time, but I may pick up one out of contract if they really are as great as everyone is hyping it up to be. I'm waiting for others on here to get it and see what kind of feedback they provide regarding it's ability to connect to and maintain LTE, especially given how much progress MI has seen as of late with LTE coming online.
  20. You aren't kidding.Not impressed with the Galaxy S3 S (S4) they just dropped.
  21. Did some mapping this weekend while i was in the area. Hit some Downriver areas and Dearborn/Detroit. Didn't get much in the way of LTE signal anywhere new, which threw me off. Some places were within a radius of the tower that had been active, but not picking signal up there, then moving just a short way up the road and hitting it. Also had it on from Kalamazoo to 275 on 94, where I picked it up in Belleville, Marshall, and east of Battle Creek.
  22. Even if initial numbers are low, getting the phone to market needs to a be a primary objective for HTC. The buzz with a lack of inventory could even stimulate a sort of "second marketing push" because people won't get them right away. Word of mouth and hype could keep the One rolling, even if HTC doesn't spend a lot in marketing dollars to keep the public interested.
