  1. I don't think anyone has any solid info on when sites will be upgraded to include the other LTE spectrum. That'll probably be some time next year. I think they're just trying to go balls-to-the-wall on getting the initial 1900Mhz LTE deployed so they try to catch up to the other carriers.
  2. It looks like LaCrosse already has a bunch of LTE. Go to www.sensorly.com and look at the coverage maps there, switch it to "Sprint 4G" and you can see that users have mapped a bunch of 4G LTE coverage around LaCrosse. There are a few more towers around that area that haven't been completed yet, but it's pretty much covered.
  3. haha. Well as long as we all pay attention to each others' posts, and keep sharing info, they should only get bothered ONCE at each cell tower
  4. I drove by there on my way to work again this morning and saw the guys out there working at 7am in the rain. I really wanted to stop and talk to em, but I didn't leave early enough to be able to stop and chat. I'll be driving by on my way home for sure, so maybe they'll still be there.
  5. Haha, I had my girlfriend in the car too. She wasn't feeling well, so I'm lucky I was able to stop at all. I would have taken more pictures otherwise
  6. That must be another carrier. I do not believe there is a Sprint tower near there.
  7. Well... Looks like we got stuck with only 1 update (3g at that) but I have to say, I am super excited today!! I've been keeping an eye on what I believe to be my home tower on 92nd and Beloit, which had new cabinets and Fiber already and today I drove past and saw some wires hanging from the racks so I had to cruise by and BAM, a trailer parked next to it, and new NV panels laying on the ground inside the fence! I'm so happy! I still can't quite figure out how to post those nice thumbnails that people can click on to open the full image :/ So here, you can look at my dropbox folder or this site i uploaded them to as well.... http://postimg.org/gallery/2f4cmv6a/ https://www.dropbox.com/sh/91nrayr88uqvl9d/mjS-gJz4sz The last picture of the cherry picker thing, that is next to the other tower, right across the street. I'm sure they just parked it over there cuz there isn't much room next to the actual tower Sprint shares with AT&T.
  8. haha, Yea, we're all waiting for it. Also, keep in mind that your phone only scans for LTE every so often. Depending on the phone you have, it might be like every 20 min or something (I don't know the exact times). So you could drive by an LTE tower every day and not pick up LTE if you're unlucky and always happen to drive past it inbetween LTE scans.
  9. That Loomis Rd. one has been broadcasting for at least a few weeks now. You can already see a bunch of purple out there on sensorly
  10. I did talk to an AT&T fiber guy who was at the radio station tower near 124th and Beloit. He said AT&T had around 50 or so sites in the area that they needed to run fiber to. That was like 2 months ago, and from the way he talked, it seemed like they were on the ball getting those done. He said that most of the Waukesha sites were already done at that point. So I don't think it's backhaul that's holding all these up. I've also noticed the 92nd and beloit tower has fiber and new cabinets too. So I'm really expecting to see like 10-15 sites go live with LTE in the Milwaukee/Waukesha area one of these days. I pretty much live and work in that big gap of no LTE around Milwaukee/Waukesha :/ so no LTE for me on a regular basis yet.
  11. Aww man. Snubbed on the acceptance report again I'm a sad panda.
  12. I just hope we start to see more action in the general Milwaukee/Waukesha area. You can see they have been working from outside in mostly (aside from a few Milwaukee LTE sites). And we know there are a bunch of towers with NV panels on them that aren't broadcasting LTE.... I'm VERY eagerly awaiting the next site acceptance report.
  13. Sure thing man. It was hard for me to spot Sprint NV equipment, I'm still not perfect. But actually, it is the shorter of the two towers I am referring to, and took the pictures of. The taller one must be another carrier, and I think the taller one might have old Nextel panels on the lower rack.
  14. Yes, that tower is Sprint. In this case, Sprint is renting space on AT&T's tower. In this same fenced-in area, there's a little building that AT&T must have their equipment inside. This tower is not broadcasting LTE, the little bits of LTE around 92nd and Beloit are probably coming from a tower in the Derrty Derrty (West Allis). Here is a picture of the top of that tower. The panels at the very top are AT&T's. The bottom ones are Sprint's. Keep an eye out for new panels on the bottom rack, they will probably look kind of similar to AT&T's longer ones. Look for the little boxes behind each panel.
  15. Here are a couple pictures of the 92nd and Beloit base. The first one was from May 23rd, the second one was from yesterday (10/6). in the 10/6 one you can clearly see a new cabinet to the left, as well as what looks to be a new fiber connection on the right side. So maybe we'll see some new panels soon! (Sorry I don't have the whole image hosting/thumbnail thing nailed yet)
  16. I was the one... I talked to an AT&T guy who was at the Beloit tower running the fiber. That was done at least a month ago. He said it's a lot more dangerous climbing the radio towers, so that one may take longer. I did notice that there are new cabinets and a completed-looking fiber connection at the 92nd and Beloit tower. No panels or anything though. And, the tower in hales corners by menards has new panels on it. So there are things in the area that are moving along.
  17. You people in Madison think you're so fancy with your "beltlines" and such. Here in Milwaukee we just have plain old freeways
  18. Nice! Well I hope that one gets done soon. The tower that IS broadcasting LTE over near Capitol Dr. and Springdale has a horrible range. I don't know if it's the terrain around there, or the buildings, or the tower isn't tall enough, but that signal barely goes like a half mile or mile in most directions. My company's other office location is in that Gateway Rd business park and there's no LTE there, yet it's only about 3/4 mile away with no hills in-between :/ There HAS to be a bunch of towers in the Milwaukee/Waukesha area that are ready or almost ready to go. I've got that itch again! Need more LTE!! It's such a tease all day at work for me. I work right to the south of the Waukesha Airport, and inside my building, my phone picks up and drops LTE all day long, I hear the little signal check pro jingle probably a dozen times a day. The signal gets to like -115 or -112 at the best, but if i pick up my phone, it usually drops.
  19. Nice! But I have to say, I am very disappointed in you... You didn't do your nerdly duty and map it with sensorly....
  20. Dude, it's as simple as what you just said... If you don't like it, leave. If people like us want to stick it out and watch the LTE deployment on here, let us do it. We all know how our phones perform, and this site isn't for complaining, it's for watching the network upgrades. If you want to complain, do just what you said, go on their facebook page or whatever or switch to another carrier. I don't care how pissed off you are, and I don't particularly want to read your complaints. This isn't the place for it, simple as that.
  21. Well, it does show you the LTE signal strength in an easy to see fashion, since the "bars" on the top of your phone only show 1XRTT voice signal, not LTE. And it also alerts you when you pick up LTE... Otherwise you might not notice you're getting LTE if you're just driving along somewhere.
  22. I don't see a new LTE site in Milwaukee / Waukesha counties... The one in Wales was already there. Is there another one that I'm not seeing?
  23. I did drive past that tower yesterday after work. To me, it did look like Sprint NV equipment on one of the bottom racks. There were a couple more racks below that one that looked empty too. Well, the LTE you're getting around the east side is from a tower that's pretty far away to the South of you. So I wouldn't expect it to be reliable at this point. On another note, I was at Friday's at Miller Park for a little IT presentation and I had wonderful LTE the entire time. It was great From inside Friday's I got a good 18 down and 10 up.
  24. I'll try to remember to drive past it on my way home today.
