  1. If you were a member here, (or if you read earlier through this thread) you'd see that most of Madison just got a ton of upgrades (LTE and better voice signal). However, the last few towers they are still working on are in your area. So stuff is happening, it just hasn't hit your exact location quite yet. But the work is in progress and it shouldn't be too much longer.
  2. I did notice that my 1xRTT connection to the water tower on 164 and Capitol stuck with me for a long time as I drove South on 164, and even after I passed over the freeway it kept it, when before that my EHRPD signal latched onto another tower. Signal check never reported 1x800 though, but it sure did seem like I kept that 1x signal for much longer than the EHRPD connection.
  3. And yes, I've been seeing the exact addresses reported on towers in signal check for every one i've been connected to so far today. From Brookfield, to Waukesha. So that must be a good sign!
  4. I think there's definitely stuff going on all around the Waukesha county area. This is over by the Capital Dr & Springdale Rd tower. I'm only a few blocks away from the tower in this pic, but my LTE signal is -81 whereas my voice signal is -62, yet signal check says I'm still on 1XRTT. This makes me think the other dude has something when talking about maybe the phone is actually connected to 1x800 but signal check doesn't see it... Otherwise what do you guys think is up with this?
  5. Aww man. Signal check says I'm connected to that tower, but I'm still pulling 1XRTT I tried PRL update and still nothing.
  6. HEY HEY! That definitely IS news. I think Sprint is the only carrier using that water tower, and there were NO NV panels on there last time I checked a week or so ago. That's awesome news! That's like one of the last few towers in the Western Milwaukee/Waukesha area that hadn't been touched yet. I hope all those rumblings about Milwaukee market and the end of November are right! I can't wait to see some more action around here.
  7. Ehh, I'm thinking those blips are most likely the very outer edges from the Waukesha or West Allis LTE towers. I hope I'm wrong though! I hope they are testing some other ones in the area! Although I don't think I've seen any NV equipment on the i43 and moorland Rd tower or the Cleveland & Calhoun tower :/
  8. Sorry man, I have no idea. I would never rule out a software application having a glitch here or there. So you very well could have been on 1x800 and Signal Check just messed up that time. Signal Check seems to be pretty accurate for me, but there's always a chance.
  9. So you're really asking if Signal Check could be wrong? Like could you actually be connected to 1x800, but signal check is still saying 1XRTT? How did you know you were connected to a tower 6 miles away?
  10. I was on my way back to the Milwaukee area last night, from Madison, and I latched onto some 1x800 on i94 around Oconomowoc and Delafield. THat 800Mhz signal goes pretty dang far!
  11. You gotta ask him about the Milwaukee area next time you see him! We gots ta know what going on around here!
  12. Yea, I was the one who talked to the crew who worked on the UW-Waukesha tower. That was quite a while ago. I know there are a big chunk of sites completed in the Milwaukee area, just not accepted yet. There are just so many sites around here that we haven't bothered to report them to the "in progress" thread.
  13. Yea, it has been VERY quiet around Milwaukee for the past couple months in terms of actual acceptances. I think we will be getting a landslide of acceptances very soon. Just look at what happened in Madison. Within a matter of 1 week, pretty much all their sites have acceptances of one form or another. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm guessing that yes, a site has to be inspected by a Samsung/Sprint person to be 3G Accepted.
  14. And you Madison people were so jealous of Milwaukee's progress before.... Look at yall now! Now WE are the ones sitting and watching you guys have all the excitement! I haven't seen anything going on in the Milwaukee/Waukesha area :/ Anyone else have any new blips of LTE or 1x800 around Milwaukee?
  15. Actually, since I took those pics, I've also seen the crew out there putting up the new antennas. I stopped and talked to them. That was like 2 weeks ago probably. So that tower is all set to go, probably just waiting on sprint to accept it and turn on the lte. Let us know if you ever get a really strong lte signal at home, then we know they're testing it. The lte signal you pick up every so often is from the one lte site that's live in the derrty derrty (West Allis). That's why you lose the connection easily.
  16. Moderator guy is right. I have an lte phone and live in the Milwaukee area. The sites that are accepted on the sponsors map as lte complete, are all broadcasting lte consistently. There was only a problem with one tower near 894 and Loomis rd that they had to shut down to fix an issue, but otherwise if you're in the coverage area of the lte sites in Milwaukee and you grab onto the lte signal, it will work, and won't boot you off as you claimed. The sensorly mappings are pretty darn accurate. Of course it always depends on the specific phone you have and all that jazz.
  17. That could be... That's actually very encouraging if that is the reason... That would mean that the people who do the inspections and acceptances are in the area and checking out sites around here.
  18. Yea, just to add a little tid bit... The contractors can have a cell site all done and ready to go, but then someone else (from Sprint) needs to stop by to inspect the site and sign off on it. At that point, it is "accepted". Or the inspector could find some little code violation or something, so it would appear that the site has all the panels and everything in place, but the crew might have to come back and adjust something or re-do some part. So "sites accepted" is really the key term that says it's 100% ready to go and if it's not already broadcasting LTE, then Sprint is waiting for some reason or another to "flip the switch".
  19. That is kind of correct. However, those remaining 64 sites or whatever are all at varying levels of completion. Alot of people have seen many sites around this area with new panels and all the equipment up, so a good chunk of those ~64 sites could be ready to go or almost ready. It means those sites have not been inspected and officially accepted by Sprint. Or as one of the tower crew guys told me, "Sprint is waiting to turn some on because they turn them on in clusters", so we're not really sure what exactly is going on.
  20. Yea, there's somewhere around 70+ sites just in Milwaukee and Waukesha counties. And there are alot of sites that DO have new panels up that aren't broadcasting yet. So once this back-log of mostly completed sites start to get accepted, things will be rollin.
  21. Haha, I wasn't offended We all know that things are getting done, people are just getting antsy not being able to "see" progress (i.e. sites being accepted). I'm fully expecting that at some point, Milwaukee/Waukesha will start seeing big numbers of sites accepted every week. It's just painful to wait for that time to come. Although I am encouraged by all the NV panels I see everywhere. The only 2-3 sites that I haven't seen any NV panels on are... 124th & Beloit Moorland and i43 Cleveland & Calhoun (general areas) I know 124th & Beloit had Fiber run to it a couple months ago. If I take the right route home from work today, I can drive past all 3 and check em out today.
  22. I've been out hunting the whole time man. It doesn't pay to take pictures anymore because most of the towers in my area have NV panels up already. So we're all waiting for an unseen delay at this point. My tower on 92nd and Beloit has all of it's panels replaced. I see all the old panels are off and all new ones are up. Most of the panels have both RRU's sitting behind them, but there are a couple that only have one RRU behind them, and the ropes are still hanging from the rack, so I'm guessing they still have a couple to mount. After that, it should be ready to go. Fiber and new cabinet has been in place for a while now. I don't know what they're waiting for. The contractor I talked to said they turn on LTE in "clusters", but that doesn't seem to be the case for the Milwaukee area's existing LTE towers. So far the towers that are broadcasting LTE aren't in any kind of "cluster", they're kind of spread out. So I don't know if I really believe the cluster theory. I just can't wait to see some more action around here. It looks like literally every tower outside of the Milwaukee/Waukesha area has had at least one upgrade (3g, 800, or LTE). So they've essentially "worked their way in" and all that's left is the actual Milwaukee/Waukesha areas.
  23. Looks like the crew on 9nd and Beloit got all but 2 of the panels replaced. Also looks like there are more RRU's to put up. There were 1 or 2 panels that had 2 RRU's behind em though. So at least they're putting up all the equipment necessary for 1900 LTE and 1x800 anyways...
  24. I got to talk to the crew at the 92nd and Beloit tower this morning!! The guy said they will be taking down the old panels and lighting up the new ones today, so there will be a little bit of a service interruption around that area. He said the LTE won't go live right away because Sprint is turning them on in clusters. He really seemed to know what he was talking about. He said he's been working on Sprint towers doing upgrades for about a year now. So after today, all the equipment will be up there and in place, just waiting to be turned on. That backs up our theory from before, because I know we've all seen a bunch of Sprint towers with NV panels up but no LTE. So hopefully we will see a bunch of LTE light up around here soon. The guy also said that they do frequently get people stopping and talking to them when they're on-site working on towers. He said they've been hopping back and forth working on T-Mobile towers and Sprint towers. Well at least we will have supposedly slightly better 3G signal later today around that area. I'm pissed because I should have asked him about the 1x800 and stuff too :/ But it was at like 6:45 this morning, so I wasn't quite awake yet.
  25. I can open the map in Chrome on my phone, and I can zoom in just fine, but I find it extremely hard to scroll around the map. It always just moves the web page back and forth instead of actually moving around the map It's like you gotta hit the screen just right to be able to move around the map. Is there a certain way to do that? I also have starred all the towers in the general Milwaukee/Waukesha area on my google maps account, but the few times I travel outside my zone, I'd like to be able to use the map on my phone to see other areas too...
